Our first time bringing the lil guy he totally approved and loved everything, the staff is so welcoming so inviting the food is soooo good. Updating my review after a poor customer service experience. When I went for lunch (the original review), their internet was down, and the credit card reader wasn't working. I was asked to pay cash, which I did. A few days later, the credit card transaction appeared. I called the Local Tavern to ask them to refund the charge. I spoke with Justin, who assured me the "back office" would look into it and get back to me within a few hours. That was Tuesday 7/7, around noon. No call back on Tuesday. No call back on Wednesday, so I called around 3:30pm, Justin was not available, but I was assured he would call me back. No call back by Thursday (today) at noon, so I called again. I did not speak to Justin, but I was told that I would need to file a dispute with my bank to get the money back. This took me another 30 minutes with my bank, and should not have been required, as the fault was on the merchant, not on the customer. Due to this poor experience, we will not be returning to the Local Tavern, and I'd advise other customers who have issues paying by card to watch their credit card statements closely. read more

We had fried pickles, onion rings, sweet potato fries w/ caramel sauce and regular hand cut fries for our appetizers and sides. The patty melt was delish and hamburger was great. Nice portions. We went today for the first time and Rita was our waitress. She was extremely friendly and courteous. My husband said his hamburger and fries weren't made with frozen products and that they were very good. I had the chicken sandwich and homemade onion rings which both were great. It comes with a drum roll. 2 people, one domestic beer each, one plate of hard airfried pickle planks, two slider baskets... $64 before tip for mediocre food and bad service. I was wondering why there was only one other table seated besides us at 7:30 on a Wednesday... Our server took our drink order, and we ordered the pickle planks appetizer which took an extraordinarily long time to arrive, and again they were terrible. Then it just seemed like our server was beamed up as she had totally disappeared. We had finished our beers and the air fried pickles, just sitting there waiting, with only one other table in the room and three people walking through the door with no one to greet them. Our server finally surfaced, smelling like she just smoked a carton of Luckys. She took our order after seating the people that had just walked in. We got our food Finally, the best thing I can say about it is it was warm. I was underwhelmed. Even though our server was absent through most of the experience, I still tipped 18% and she was lucky to get that. So, now you know. We won't be back. It was bad under the previous management and now it's going further downhill under the current management. My wife and I are new empty nesters, and we were looking for new happy hour spots to try. My wife found The Local Tavern online. We were greeted with smiles and friendly service. The food was excellent and the drinks were nice and stiff and for a great price! The co-owner came and spoke with us a couple of times, as he helped the staff, as they started getting busy quickly. I told him that we would be back and that I would give a good review! Have to try more stuff on the menu. I had the tavern burger, which was cooked medium, but very well seasoned. My wife had the catfish that was also well seasoned, and we had fried pickle La for appetizers. The portions were big enough to have leftovers. Can't wait for my next visit. read more

My Husband and I went here for lunch and was greeted nicely by a man who was very friendly and welcoming. We both ordered the hamburger combo. He added onion rings and I got fries. We both agreed that the burger was very good. He LOVES onion rings and orders them every chance he gets, but he said the onion rings here were "horrible" and that they tasted like they had been cooked in the same grease as fish. He was served only 6 onion rings (large & small) and he only ate 1/2 of one. The fries were good. My only real complaint is that they serve the burgers & side on the tiniest of a tin plate. I had to remove my fries onto the tray to be able to eat my burger and put it back down onto the plate. I am very disappointed on how I was treated on the phone I had with staff members at this establishment on June 18, 2025. I was attempting to check out this restaurant since I've heard decent things about this place and wanted to try it out. I inquired over the telephone with a staff member named Brittany on whether the wings special that was offered on Wednesdays can be ordered to go or dine in. Brittany said that it can be placed to go but later hung up the telephone when I've asked if the bone in wings can be served without the sauce due to health reasons. I've called back and spoke to another staff member who said they are busy and for me to look at the menu for more details on how the wings can be cooked. While the latter staff member have a better personality than Brittany who was very rude, I was disappointed in the fact that I was told that they was too busy to assist a prospective customer who will help support a local establishment in the area. This is not a way a customer should be treated. I've been to so many restaurants across the world and never had staff members hanged up the telephone on a customer or basically said they too busy to assist a customer who is willing to spend money on a business who needs every support from locals during these tough economic times. I would not recommend this business to anyone who is looking for good customer service. read more

My husband, teenage son, and I ate here today. I ordered the slider trio. My son ordered a chicken sandwich. My husband ordered the tavern burger with bacon. Our waitress (I can't remember her name unfortunately)was very friendly and helpful. I ordered my sliders without buns, and they happily obliged. Our burgers came out very fast and were all really good. I also ordered a side salad with ranch dressing which was very fresh. There was a mix up when it came to my son's chicken sandwich (they brought a burger instead), but when we told them, they went immediately to work at making it right. They offered to let us keep the other burger since it would just be thrown away. The manager/owners (not sure which) came to apologize and check on us MULTIPLE times. When the chicken sandwich came out, my son said it was, "phenomenal" and worth the wait. Overall, mistakes happen, but the quality of the food and the way it was handled was amazing.
