We started with bloody Mary's which were pretty good nothing crazy but the cheese and guacamole app was really good! Everything is aesthetically pleasing here and southern style so the dips came in little jars. I kept it simple and got a black bean burger but you can tell it's homemade. Really good with a Japaleno aioli and the sweet potato fries are amazinggg. My friend got the sweetsucker burger which is like a black and blue and said it was great too. Came here for a date night and it was a very nice atmosphere. They have a lovely deck outside to sit at, but we chose indoor seating. I felt like because we were inside, we were forgotten about and the service was quite slow. After receiving our appetizers (spinach dip) we saw a very large cockroach on the wall. The manager came and apologized, as well as gave us drinks and appetizers on the house. That all being said, the food was good. We ordered the snapper which was cooked well and the truffle tater tots which were delicious. I would recommend ordering cocktails, the lemonade mojito was very good. read more

Other than that...1, Our waitress was standing on the bar sipping on her drink, peaking over at us and took her a minute before she came to take our drink order. Not to mention, was not very pleasant. 2. We went there for chicken and waffles. Maybe they should mention somewhere only served for brunch, and their brunch meaning Sunday only. ??? So we look over the lunch menu, and the options we thought were not very creative? I ordered a Black Bean Burger. It was pretty bland. To say the least. 4. After arriving in Tallahassee, Table 23 was one of the first places I tried with a friend. Having thoroughly enjoyed it when thinking of where to take my graduating employees I made reservations here. They had never been so I found it the perfect opportunity for them to try it. Knowing they fill fast, I made reservations and highly recommend you do so if you try it as well. When we arrived, we were asked where we'd like to sit and we all agreed outside due to Tally's amazing weather and night breeze. They immediately seated us in the outdoor area and the ambiance is delightful, filled with moss and lights. They also have covered outdoor seating complete with an outdoor bar as well as, of course, indoor seating. We chose not to do appetizers on this trip but my friend and I had previously tried fish and puppies, deviled eggs and fried oysters which were all amazing. We did order a round of drinks. The bartender was generous which is not always the case in Tally. For dinner, I chose the shrimp and grits (Gulf Shrimp, Arugula, Mushrooms & Bacon-Tomato Gravy over Smoked Gouda Cheese Grits). While I am a new lover of grits, I found it absolutely delicious. The dish was seasoned, cooked perfectly, and the smoked gouda really complimented the grits. Great place, but be sure and get reservations. We sat outside on the deck and were ready for a drink. They have an interesting specialty cocktail list, so we had to try two different ones. I had a great Caesar salad, my wife had the 1215 salad. My shrimp and grits were very flavorful, as was my wife's grouper (fish of the moment). The place can get busy, but the service was spot on. Omg this place is amazing. Came here last year for a work trip and have wanted to come back ever since. They didn't disappoint again. It was busy in a Friday night, but he got a table fairly quickly. Our server was amazing and the food was fast and fresh. They have such a great variety on the menu and everything is good (we tried a lot hehe). This place was packed for brunch and luckily we were able to find a seat at the bar. I had the biscuits and gravy and let me tell you they were so good. I was a little skeptical to get them because you just never know what to expect when you order biscuits and gravy because I have had so wild biscuits and gravy in my lifetime. It comes with a poached egg maybe can't remember but I asked for a soft scramble with cheese. The gravy was full of flavor and surprisingly so were my eggs and whatever cheese they used was soooo good. I'm not from the Tallahassee area but I would definitely recommend it to my family that lives there. I had a Bellini mimosa and it's basically peaches and champagne cause why add anything else to it right? I just needed that one mimosa and I was feeling good. The bartender Shelby was very nice and so were the other staff members! After frantically searching for parking, vegetarian options and a short wait for lunch at 3 different Thomasville Rd. resto's with no luck my pregnant brain started to turn to chocolate pudding. I was starving and frustrated at the lack of parking at most of the restaurants on the T-ville strip. The solution came to me in the form of one Table 23 parking lot which was ample and empty. We were seated immediately, orders taken and food brought out quickly. The food was all excellent: I had a black bean burger with the Power Salad side and both were really well done. Simple, good ingredients and soul satisfying for a crazed starving pregnant lady. My husband had the Peter Pipers chicken sandwich and was very happy with it and while I usually don't like thicker cut fries these were excellent! We could have left after our very generously portioned meal and been happy but my husband egged me on and I ordered desert which turned out to be the most exquisite brownie my tongue hath tasted. It was fudgy but not dense, not too cakey, warm and topped with hand whipped cream and their house made vanilla ice cream. I'm not exaggerating when I say that not a say has gone by since I finished licking the bowl that I haven't dedicated at least 10 minutes to dreaming about that brownie. Finally, and I know this sounds really catty and I don't meant it to be, the servers all remind me of the kind of girls I used to spend a lot of my time rolling my eyes at in high school: they're pretty incompetent but nice and pretty so they get by. It's annoying but definitely not a deal breaker. I will be back in the near future to determine whether or not there's a fifth star for Table 23's (as well as challenge my self to a brownie eating competition). read more

All in all very good food and service, I would recommend anyone who likes good traditional dishes with a moderate elevation in flavors without loosing the classic feel. It's really good, the selections simple enough to not bog you down with too many options but enough that you get a good array of choices if your in the mood for something other than your normal. I really can tell you the gumbo flavors were a well balanced spice mix with a very nice hint towards middle eastern spices but not enough to change the fact that it tastes like gumbo. The coffee rubbed rib eye was definitely on point with a gravy for the potatoes silky smooth and acidic was a nice profile as well. The fried green tomatoes worth the calories too. read more

Went to Table 23 twice in last week while visiting daughter in Tallahassee. Both times the food was awesome. Both the filet and strip steaks had were cooked to perfection. No complaints at all about food. Service could be better both times had to flag down waitstaff to refill drink orders and etc. Seems once they take your order they are done til the bill. read more

Before covid, the wait service was spot on. maybe just hit it at a bad time, but it was recently very slow. the food was still great. the wait staff is very concerned about covid--masks/social distancing. I even got a talk to from the waiter for hanging out with my brother at the bar--seems that I was standing to close to him and they limit the number of people at the bar--seemed a little odd as I wasn't near anyone else and I was wearing a mask. (7/11/2010) Was in town for a work meeting, but arrived the night before. Headed out for dinner by myself. Generally I sit at the bar when dining for one. The porch bar here is gorgeous, has a beautiful chandelier that fits in with the rustic chic they're going for. Oddly, though, I was the only person on the entire side of the bar I was on, but the other 3 sides were full, weird vibe. It was pretty bustling for late on a Thursday night. Had the Deviled Eggs (because who doesn't like a deviled egg). They were all right, I thought the Classic Southern was a touch underseasoned, but liked the slight tang of the Pimento Bacon. The eggs were definitely prepped at some point long before and held, bacon bits were chewy, arugula garnish brown and wilted. The Fig and Tuna was a confusing plate to me. Also, restaurants really to stop serving chopsticks with their "Asian" inspired dishes. The trope is tired and offensive. The tuna was beautifully seared and a quality piece of fish and there was a lot of it, definitely a shared plate. It was served with sushi condiments and then a schmear of fig compote. Kind of too much and not really cohesive. I would've preferred the fig and tuna OR the tuna and soy, wasabi, gari, and sriracha. Fried Oysters and Pickles was a deep-fried bounty. The pickles here seem like the housemade ones, sweet, lots of cloves, tangy. Oysters were small, and maybe because of size, somewhat overdone, a little chewy, and heavily breaded. I ended up pulling most of the breading off so that I could get to the oyster itself. I was expecting some much larger ones, so these were somewhat disappointing. I appreciated the option to "buy the kitchen a round" and did so. Always be kind to your servers and the people who make your food (farmers, cooks, moms, etc.). The quality is high, so is the price and ambition. Most of it worked for most, some of it didn't. It seems to be a hugely popular place to see and be seen for the Talbots set, but also, popular with the kids looking to upgrade their social status. read more

A great place for a fancy dinner. The owners are great and the have some unique recipes on the menu. The "Three Little Pigs" was my favorite and the steak is good too. If you go I would try to sit in the main dining area for a better atmosphere. The best items they have to offer are their drinks. My wife and I enjoyed a few great cocktails from the bar. We were looking for a new restaurant to try in Tallahassee and were drawn by the look of Table 23 when we drove by. Situated in the midtown area, it is a lovely old southern style house with expanded patio area and shimmering glow. We made reservations and the staff was very accommodating when we ran late and had to push back. It was a great experience. From the laid back seating in the covered patio under the glow of the two fabulous chandeliers (totally unexpected for an outdoor space) to the friendly service and delicious food it is a place I will go back to. The Blackened & Seared Rare Tuna topped with Siracha Fig Sauce appetizer was delicious. One of the best spinach dips I've had! And the wedge salad was great with housemade thousand island dressing. Our main entries of shrimp and grits with smoked Gouda and smoked strip steak with garlic smashed potatoes were so flavorful and enough to share with all the appetizers we ordered. Indoor seating is very pleasant with the rustic interiors peppered with some nautical details. The restaurant has a full bar, on site parking and easy access. It was a great night! read more

My wife and I went to dinner at table 23 last night. We were greeted and seated quickly and our server arrived with two water almost immediately. We placed our order starting with the southern slate appetizer and we both got the "23" burger with truffle tots. We received our appetizer within no time and the burgers were very soon to follow. Unfortunately there was a hair incident with my burger however the manager Olivia was at our table in less than 5 minutes apologizing. She and our server handled it very professionally got me a new burger in no time at all and made us an offer to return that we can't refuse. This place is incredible. The food is some of the best in Tallahassee and the staff is delightful. read more

I've been here a few times, but only for happy hours. I haven't tried the food yet so can't talk about that. I like the outdoor seating a lot. Especially now that it's such nice weather, it's a great outside bar. The waiters and bartenders are really attentive.
