Parking: There is plenty of parking in front of the restaurant as it is in a plaza. Atmosphere: Love the new look of the establishment, there's plenty of seating and I love the wall art and wall of alcohol bottles used as the divider Service: We were greeted by a friendly face upon arrival into the restraunt and food came out quite quickly. Taste: I ordered two specialty rolls, the Tabe Roll and the BLCR (Baked Lobster California Roll) as well as a Salmon Roll. Everything tasted really good. My friends said I knew what to order as there was a lot on top of these rolls. I loved the rich creaminess of the BLCR. The Tabe roll had more of a sour taste to it, which was a great contrast to the savoriness. Pricing: At the time of this review there was a pick 3 basic rolls for $16 and a pick 2 signature rolls for $25. WONDERFUL DINNER! My wife and I came here for a date night and tried the shabu shabu. This was our first time ever having shabu shabu so we needed assistance with recommendations and how best to eat. We had Shinji as our waiter and he was AWESOME! He was friendly and made the experience very enjoyable. It comes dipped in a thick barbecue like sauce. I have never been a huge fan but I will be ordering this every time. The showstopper is Shabu Shabu, for those unfamiliar, you pick a type or broth and protein. They will bring out a boiling hot pot of the broth and very thin slices of meat and veggies. I will preface this by explaining that I rarely leave 1 star reviews, generally we won't review a place if the experience is poor. A poor experience was an understatement for our visit here. I will say that I'm confident the food would be good as long as nothing goes wrong. Their customer service and ability to work with people is the main issue. Here is how things went. The waitress seemed nice but couldn't explain the food to us unfortunately. So we ordered without being able to ask for feedback on popular dishes and questions about the meals. We ordered the Shabu hot pot with chicken and Tom Yum broth( sweet, spicy and sour broth) . We couldn't get a description of the level of spice from the waitress unfortunately and that was where the issue began. I enjoy light spice in my foods, my wife likes medium spice. We started by adding in vegetable to test the broth out. The spice was too much for us both. My thoughts are that the chef accidentally added extra chili flakes because the broth was very red. We tasted no sweet or sour flavors and only extreme spice. We asked if we could pay for a separate hot pot of broth with another flavor option. I figured since the meal with chicken and vegetables costs $18 the broth might be half that $10 roughly for only broth. I was wrong. We hoped to pay a fee and simply toss our now spicy vegetables into the new broth to mellow out the spice and add the chicken so we can enjoy our meal. The waiter ( a nice guy ) went to speak with the owner. He returned to explain that the owner was worried about his costs and losing money so he declined to take the money for a pot of broth. Our options were to pay for an entire other entree even though we already had chicken sitting on the table waiting to be cooked ( minus two slices we used as a test on the broth) and vegetables waiting to be added to a new pot or take the owners offer of a free alternative seaweed broth. I asked again if instead of the free seaweed broth could I not just pay more for a flavored broth of our choice. We were told no. We opted to try the seaweed broth which tasted like a pot of water. At this point my wife was livid and I was just disappointed. We lost about 45 minutes here and left hungrier than we arrived and $37 lighter from our wallet. We basically spent $37 to waste time and get hungrier while feeling like we were being shafted. The waitress passed by once more to ask how we were enjoying the meal and I explained that were weren't enjoying it at all as the food was all still on the table. She simply smiled, nodded and walked away. I will say that the wings were very tasty and slightly spicy as advertised. The issue was that the broth in the hot pot must have had extra spice added ruining the dish. Additionally the fact that we couldn't pay a fee for another pot of broth unless we bought an entire new entree and doubled our bill on a gamble was pretty crappy. The customer service was honestly horrible, we didn't ask for a free meal or free broth and couldn't understand why we they wouldn't accept money for broth unless we bought a whole new meal. They ended up throwing away 4 trays of our uncooked chicken and cooked vegetables that could have been used. read more

Everything was really good. We ordered philly rolls because my kids are obsessed, the dynamite roll which was amazing, and some sides. We got the edamame, calamari and chicken katsu. I have no complaints about the food. We enjoyed everything very much. Customer service was good. The only negative is that is didnt smell good when we first walked in. We got the mix tempura appetizer, sunrise roll, salmon nigiri, and of course the shabu with pork bone broth and sukiyaki broth. -To start off, the tempura was a great start! Their batter was light and crispy! Really great! Definitely recommend -The sunrise roll was to die for! There was the right amount of rice that they used to make it, so it wasn't thick, which was great! The salmon on top was smooth and just delicious! Definitely recommend -The salmon nigiri, oh my goodness! It was so soft and buttery! Just melts in your mouth! Highly recommend -For the shabu we got beef belly, and ribeye choice for our meats! Quality is fantastic! Both broths were flavorful!! And they give you a side of veggies that come with the shabu! -In the end, I'm giving this place 4 stars because of the price. We paid the dinner price for the shabu, when we went for lunch, which is actually pretty expensive! We paid almost $60 just for the shabu itself. For the price of the Chicken Lunch Bowl, it is not worth paying for. Literally a 1/4 of a chicken breast and rice with a few various veggies. Started for a easy basic roll for the sushi to start and was not really impressed. Will I be back, definitely not. My boyfriend stumbled upon this place on Yelp today and was very excited to try it out. The menu layout is a bit confusing but the server explained it and helped us order as well. The staff was very welcoming and extremely helpful. We love shabu and have been looking for another shabu place near us. I appreciated that they had various options for both and meat. We picked the pork bone and tom yum broth, I liked mixing them in my soup bowl. We opted for the pork belly and brisket for meat, both were great. The shabu shabu comes with a vegetable set that includes: udon, bok choy, tofu, broccoli, cabbage, mushrooms, and squash. They also bring an assortment of dipping sauces and sides. Since it's the soft opening the menu is limited, but we are very excited to see what the full menu has to offer. It would be great to have other sides for the shabu such as quail eggs, dumplings, and seafood. I also wish they had a spicy broth option as well. If you like a higher quality sushi, you'll like this place. The quality of the fish really surprised me! (I have been eating sushi for at least 40 years.) I would rather pay more for better quality fish. This establishment is a substantial improvement over the first sushi restaurant (Kens) that was at the same location. They usually have sushi (and sashimi) that is often more difficult to get like uni, toro and Spanish mackerel. They have a very extensive menu with a large variety of both appetizers, roles and, of course, many types of sushi/sashimi. (They also serve shabu-shabu but I always have the sushi so I can't comment on this.) Finally, the service is wonderful. Not only does the waitress quickly bring you drinks and appetizers, the sushi chefs will change or create anything you desire. Bottom line...if you like quality and excellent service, give this place a try! read more
