John was recommended to us by our home warranty insurance company, Old Republic. He was the third…read moreplumber that the insurance company sent to take a look at the leak in our old water heater. That process was such a nightmare with Old Republic but John and Robin were so helpful throughout the process. I'm so thankful for both of them and especially for John. John removed our old 80gal water heater from a very tight space that was covered with old gas metal pipping that's connected to our HVAC unit and put in a new one - all by himself! I was worried about the old gas pipe and the tight space but he made it look so easy (I didn't see how he did it and I didn't want to). I highly recommend him! I'm happy to know that there are honest and kind people out there and John is it. I can sleep at night now knowing my house is safe. Thank you for installing our new water heater!

This is not the plumber you want if you are of color…read more I had a leak on the bottom of my hot water heater. I called my warranty company, Old Republic, and got John. Based on what I saw and heard from both the plumber and my tenants (in the home), the problem was solely with the plumber. He was VERY unprofessional, short and rude, and was not relaying true and accurate information. He told us to turn off the heater knowing it would be a week without hot water and he said it wasn't leaking when he checked after it was off. It most certainly was still leaking which means that going without hot water would've been for nothing. He was just being nasty. Initially, John said he "opened the water heater" and water was pouring onto the floor (huh? how do you open a water heater?), he said my tenants don't speak intelligible english, not at all true. They are well spoken, they just happened to be black. He was very very unresponsive. He wouldn't answer the phone to schedule a time. I had called twice in 4 days and left one voice message. I had to contact the warranty company all that week just to get 3 way'd in with him for 1 minute, he wouldn't give me a time before he came out to the house.... On and on. Water pouring on the floor the. entire. time. And out of the blue, HE cancelled his work on the ticket for "personal reasons", which delays replacement even further - again, to be nasty. I called the warranty company and asked why there's a new plumber on the ticket and to make sure that everything was fine. I spoke in great detail about the John the neighborhood plumber - I let the warranty company know that his service was not equal for all customers.

Explained renters had two young kids and I didn't want to leave them hanging over the weekend. He shared he could be out by evening and ended up there before 4 p.m. He had to order two parts for pickup in Stafford, VA, later Friday evening, after visual assessment that evening and come back following morning to fix and fire back up hot water heater. Problem solved. He made not one mention of it being an older model and/or suggest I change out as that has been my previous experiences with other companies. And, at 8 a.m. today (Monday), tech. Craig texted me making sure everything is still good as he knew my main concern of renter's kids and cold weather. The level of service and follow thru he/Red & Blue Services have had with me and with only placing two services calls in the past 2 years, both of which were minor tickets happening before or on the weekend, is truly remarkable and can't thank him enough for being super prompt and driving on a Friday night to get a part to replace following morning. Not to mention, I was anticipating an emergency or extra cost for afterhours/holiday weekend, and got an invoice less that expected. Highly recommend as he is truthful, efficient, very knowledgeable of gas and electric water heaters and over deliveries on follow thru when some other companies would postpone completion of service until nonholiday or weekend day.

The technician was nice and came over to look and provided a cost (165) for repair, which I kindly agreed upon and he mentioned that he had to order parts. Well after a week and a half he visited today did the install and then says the price is now 215. I'm not happy with how a company does business in that manner. Personally I should have known better and asked for the order in writing but I presumed that they were of a good and trustworthy company so I didn't. Commitment and integrity I feel is lacking. Should have honored the price agreed upon. And if there was such a difference between the two should have made me aware prior to doing the job not after. I called the office and ha e not heard back from the company. Not sure I would feel comfortable recommending them or even considering them back for more work. You call in MRC Plumbing of Warrenton, expecting a quick fix under the kitchen sink, and what do they find? A setup from 2012 that was, let's say, more wishful thinking than plumbing-barely holding itself together, fittings loose, and, to add insult to injury, a rather pungent aroma wafting through your kitchen. You'd been waging war on that stench with baking soda and soap, convinced it was just a stubborn drain, when in reality, it was sewer gas slipping through a poorly sealed pipe. Not the sort of thing you'd catch unless, of course, you had a wrench for a hand and a sixth sense for leaks. But here's where MRC shines. They didn't just patch the leak and vanish. No, they assessed a puzzle of pipes installed in 2012 by a less than competent plumber, found disconnected pipes hanging onto each other by a thread, missing parts, and made it all tidier and more user friendly space under the kitchen sink. The leaks have stopped, the stench is gone, and I am happier than I thought I would be.
