A setup from 2012 that was, let's say, more wishful thinking than plumbing-barely holding itself together, fittings loose, and, to add insult to injury, a rather pungent aroma wafting through your kitchen. You'd been waging war on that stench with baking soda and soap, convinced it was just a stubborn drain, when in reality, it was sewer gas slipping through a poorly sealed pipe. Not the sort of thing you'd catch unless, of course, you had a wrench for a hand and a sixth sense for leaks. But here's where MRC shines. They didn't just patch the leak and vanish. No, they assessed a puzzle of pipes installed in 2012 by a less than competent plumber, found disconnected pipes hanging onto each other by a thread, missing parts, and made it all tidier and more user friendly space under the kitchen sink. This is my second time using BlueStar and I have nothing but amazing things to say about them. The…read morefirst time they fixed my furnace which had build up on a sensor which was an easy fix. John came out and was very straight forward and up front with everything he did. He explained the issue to me, how he would fix it, and even provided some recommendations I may want to do in the future. My second time I used Bluestar was on a Sunday and they are closed on Sunday's. I did not realize this at first and left them a voicemail in the morning. Realizing they were closed I called another company who would have charged me more than Bluestar to come out later that afternoon to look at the problem which was that my Nest Thermostat was giving an E73 error code meaning it was not getting power. To my surprise I received a call from John at Bluestar that afternoon prior to the other HVAC company coming out. I discussed my thermostat issue not getting power with John and he suggested several troubleshooting fixes I could try over the phone. After eliminating several causes of what the problem may be John suggested holding down the front panel cover switch to the unit to see if a power light was coming on. In doing this I noticed sometimes the light would come on and sometimes it would not. There seemed to be a loose connection in the a wire that was causing the switch not to supply power. After playing with the switch for a few minutes I got the power to stay on and the problem was fixed. John solved my problem and saved me a good deal of money as I canceled my appointment with the other HVAC company. John took over 20 minutes talking to me on the phone going above an beyond to help me solve my AC issue on the day the company is closed. I would highly recommend BluStar to anyone and will use them for all my future HVAC needs.

Chirstian Lopez was subcontracted by the HVAC company we hired to run the condensate lines for the…read moresystem. He did extremely messy work, and ended up plumbing the condensate down an interior wall that then exited the wall to two 90 degree bends and down through the floor of our kitchen which was in the process of a remodel. When I questioned it, I was told there was not other way to do it. This was completed at 6pm at night on a Saturday and we just wanted them out of the house. We had our plumber come in a few days later to see if he could change it, as the way it was set up would affect our cabinet layout. No need to get the HVAC company involved, it would be a small fix. Our plumber would be able with ease to get more of the piping in the wall. Upon going under the house to fully look at and complete the job, our plumber discovered that the condensate lines were not run to code. Mr. Lopez had run our condensate incorrectly into the sewage lines, in our crawl space. Because our plumber was there and there were concerns of the way it was done, we had him fix it on the spot. We then went to the HVAC company and Mr. Lopez and explained what happened and asked that they cover the cost for the condensate line to be fixed. We did not include the cost of moving the lines in the kitchen floor, as we planned on just easting that cost. Long story short we went back and forth for 6 months of them arguing that without proof from an inspector that it is wrong they would not do anything. They did say that if an inspector came back saying it wasn't to code, they would be sure to reimburse us. I ended up going to our town hall and explain what had happened to the inspector and providing pictures of the work done wrong and pulled a permit. The inspector wrote a report showing the violations. We then presented that to HVAC company and Mr. Lopez. They still refuse to reimburse us, claiming I should have given Mr. Lopez the chance to fix it. I however, did not want him back working on stuff when he already did shotty work.
