As soon as I walked in a was amazed at how nice it looked inside, very clean and tastefully decorated. The front desk worker was very nice and showed me where to wash my hands, gave me the color selection, and showed me to my chair. Why 4 stars not 5? My nail technician was just in a bad mood and didn't look like he wanted to doing my nails. He was a little rough with holding my fingers and would swat my finger/hand if it wasn't in the right position. As soon as one of his coworkers would talk to him he was laughing and smiling and as soon as he would talk to me he was kinda rude and short. I got powder acrylic and he did a pretty good job on them. I hate when there's stuff under the nail and he made sure there was none, I didn't even ask! He gave me the price beforehand which was nice $60. I showed him a picture of a design and he did really good mimicking it on all my nails but one. Kinda a bummer is on my thumb but I didn't ask for him to change it so that's on me. Some of my nails are a little thicker then others but over all there're done nicely! At the end of the service he put oil on my nails and said your done and immediately went on his phone. He didn't rub it in or anything so I rubbed it in and walked to the front desk and waited for a minute before he came up and I paid. It was just a little odd. This place is absolutely terrible. I am not sure how they stay in business. I called to make an appt for a pedicure and the man who answered the phone seemed irritated and annoyed that I called to make an appt. When I got there, they were very curt and pointed me to a pedicure chair. The water was so hot it was burning my feet. I asked for them to cool it and the two women immediately started talking and laughing in another language. Look, I am not sensitive but the perception is that you are making fun of your customers and if you aren't cool but the timing is odd. My pedicure lasted all of 25 minutes without a massage. He just slapped some glue, acrylics and polish on and called it. They look clubby, none of them are the same length and one is already coming off after literally four minutes. We last minute wanted to get a pedicure, so we went to Bliss Spa and they had people waiting while all of the staff was busy, so we headed over to the other side of this strip mall and tried T Spa. Can't complain because not only is the place bigger and more modern, they also have plenty of staff, so we only had to wait less than the 5 minutes that they estimated. The lady who worked on me wasn't talkative and I appreciate that. I don't need a friend, I need to get my feet prettied up and massaged and she did that. She took care of everything and even when she needed my seat scooted up, it would have been easier to ask me to do it, but instead she pushed the button on the armchair to take care of it. I guess she's used to people wanting to zone out as she does her magic and I did. Plus my toe nails look pretty. Prices are reasonable and she asked if I wanted a manicure too and when I said no, she didn't bother with the upsell, so thank you so much for being lowkey and awesome. read more

Sadly, I must recant my previous 5 star rating of my beloved T Spa. I had come here for many years, always telling friends, family, and complete strangers that T Spa was the "best place" to get your pedicure. What happened to T Spa?!?!?! If you read my reviews, you will see, I rarely bother to post anything under a 5 star rating. I/we walked in and the place was unusually slow (even w/Covid). There are new pedicure chairs, draperies, and the signs have all changed places. The shop was spotlessly clean and a staff member did come quickly to greet and inquire about our needs (party of 2). I began to wounder if they had changed hands/ownership as I did not recognize anyone? The signs had all been moved? A large eye level sign facing outside in the front window displayed, "Voted Best in Thurston County ..." The sign/board for services and prices had been moved to about 10 feet up on the left hand wall (as you enter) and was very hard to see. I was not surprised to see the prices had gone up to $30 for a basic pedicure. There was a small ~16" sandwich board on the floor to the right of the check in desk advertising complementary drinks, including wine. We never were offered a beverage. The sign with licenses and group photos of staff were displayed on a wall in the pedicure room. The large nail polish rack was attached to the wall on the left side under the price board as we entered, we were told to go and choose a color. My pedicure was not good! Having received an AA in Cosmetology at the top college in Washington state, I know how a pedicure should be done. I do not currently work in this field, nor, do I have any ties to any nail shops. I have come here for over 10 years. As with any hands on service you get some staff who you prefer to have work on you, but, this was beyond that. I watched as the 6 pedicurists preformed the "scripted" services. The pedicure took about half the time it had in the past! They all skipped some parts of the pedicure experience that made me into the repeat customer I had been. The normal attentive & friendly staff, application of lotion, gentle massage, and feeling that they wanted you to enjoy your pedicure was gone. My pedicurist was constantly trying to "up sell" me. But lacked enough English to answer basic questions, or, even stop what he was doing when I said, "Ouch, that hurts" (more than once)! I had to ask to speak to the manager three times, before he finally went to get her. The lady manager who came over understood so little English, that I gave up. I know how hard it can be when you do not speak the local language, I have traveled myself. Many people move here for a better life as my family had generations ago. I by no means am faulting these things. However, I feel there needs to be enough understanding for basic communication between customers and staff. COVID has changed the face of how we do things, not so much at T Spa. There were no barriers between the pedicure chairs. I watched the staff take their same tote with supply kits from patron to patron. The basic pedicure includes a salt/sugar scrub, I saw all the pedicurists reach into the jar in their kit with their gloved hands (they had been using on their patron) and remove product! When my pedicurist left to get my hot towel, I wondered what he had had to touch while wearing his gloves to get to that towel? He also painted my nails without wearing gloves! I did not see the nail polish bottles being wiped down, only put back on the display shelf. The same shelf we had been directed to browse through when we entered. Hmm... lets think about this.. You ask me and all people before me coming into the shop, with hands contaminated with who knows what, to touch the nail polish bottles and rack. These bottles are them carried to the gloved staff member by me/the patron. The staff member who's gloved hands are now contaminated, performs your pedicure!!! Even before COVID, I brought my own nail polish, top coat, and base coat in for my pedicure... for this very reason! This next event was a first for here... After painting my nails, my pedicurist had me lift my feet as he drained the tub and removed the plastic tub cover. Next he had me set my bare feet on the uncovered tub edge... 20 minutes later he again had me lift my feet as he put a new cover on the tub, without sanitizing the tub edge! Had everyone before me sat their feet on the same bare tub edge? These are all excellent examples of, "CROSS CONTAMINATION"!!!!! Over all my pedicurist was rough with me, he cut/trimmed too deeply, sawed into my skin with the nail file, and my massage was way too hard - it was painful. My feet hurt during the night and are tender today! I am not a baby, rather the opposite! When I went to pay my pedicurist also asked that I give him his tip in cash? Really, what is that all about??? I will NOT be returning to T Spa and strongly recommend you find a different nail salon for you nail care! read more

I don't have enough good things to say about my experience, my friend, and I decided last minute that we wanted to get pedicures, I needed a fill she wanted a new set. We needed a later appointment which wasn't an issue. ( this has been my fifth or six attempt at finding a salon that I liked for my nails and pedicures) We were immediately greeted and directed to our pedicure chairs and once the ladies began work, they did not get up to jump around to other clients or do other things as has been my previous experience. I went there about 4 times before I had any issues and I was very happy. However, the last two times I went gave me pause. The time before last o got a gel spa pedicure. Everything seemed OK until a couple hours after I got home and found that my toe felt swollen & an infection was starting. Fortunately it broke open the next day in the shower (green pus) and then felt much better. I was hesitant to go back but my Mom passed away and we used to get our nails done together so I wanted to do this. The toenail service seemed fine but a week later the gel polish had already started to come off, not chipping but the full polish coming off as one piece (usually lasts for many weeks). My gel full set is holding nicely so far, so at least there is that. read more

I have been a very good customer 10 for years, service has been hit and miss, but the last w2 times made me re-think my decision going there again. 6 weeks ago I had to get a new set of nails. I'm not sure if the girl was new but she cut my fingers 4 times then she ran the buffer over my engagement ring. Not to say I was upset is an understatement, plus my fingers hurt for a 2 days after this. I decided to go back there for my fill 3 weeks ago, thinking it can't be bad. When I went back the nails had been lifting off for a few days and water got underneath the nail. When I ask about it the gentleman said there was nothing wrong with them. I was worried because years ago this happened they changed out all the nails because bacteria grows. This guy was pretty rude. At that point I was done. Today I went to a different spa and as the lady there was taking off my polish my nails looked horrible. She stated cutting them off and my nail was nasty yellow! I have to start by saying that I would normally give this place a five star rating. They are my favorite place to go and I will return but I WILL NOT let any older male employees do my nails here again. I was treated so poorly for the price I paid and I am not happy at all with my nails. I say older mAle employees because I'm not sure how many males actually work there and the younger male that had bleached hair did my friends nails and he did a wonderful job. The man that did my nails had done my nails before a couple years ago and also did poorly and was rude then but I had given the benefit of the doubt and thought he maybe had a bad day then. But then my friend who I usually go with to get my nails done went without me one day and had the same man do her nails. He yanked her nails off without soaking them in acetone at all tearing up her nail beds and causing her a lot of pain. So when he came to do my nails I was worried but again gave the benefit of the doubt. Everything was good to start but then after filing one hand he got up without word and didn't return for 20 minutes. He then continues to file my nails. He asked if I liked the shape and I really didn't but I didn't want him to have to start over so I just pointed out the one reallY crooked nail. He then started to tell me no he followed my finger and that my finger is crooked. I said it's never looked that way before and so he drew an invisible line going diagonal not straight at all saying a see it's straight. He giggled and I said no it isn't. He then sighed and pulled out a long file to try to show the tip of the nail aligned with the middle of my finger but it still didn't. So he asked me if I wanted him to file it. I said yes please. Then he played dumb and was asking me how to file it. Then after filing to fix it as best he could without removing the nail, he asked if I was happy. I said yes. He kept saying it until I would say the words "I'm happy" when I finally did say it he laughed and said " if you're happy I'm happy. if you're not happy I'm still happy." I'm not sure if he was trying to be funny. But it came off very rude. He continued on. He did the lines on my accent nails that I asked for but they are very sloppily done as you can see in my pictures. As he worked I asked for a matte finish at least three times because he never acknowledged hearing me. He finally did say ok after the third time. Then proceeded to use the shiny regular finish. I at that point was done with my interaction with this employee so I wasn't going to say anything but my friend spoke up and said I asked for matte. Catching him before he had walked away. He stomped back over and applied a matte finish then I paid. He didn't have me wash my hands or use cuticle oil on me which I've always gotten and my friend next to me got. I'm upset because I paid a little more than I usually do getting my nails done and I was left so disappointed. I had never before left t spa unhappy with the nails I was leaving with. But these nails are all different lengths and shapes and some crooked. I can't afford to get them fixed until my next fill so every time I look at my nails I'm sad. I had been going to T-Spa nails in Tumwater for over 6 years. I am remembered by some but always have someone different doing my nails regardless of appointment because they switch around so often. I have tried other salons and always go back because some (4) of the techs are great!! The last couple times I have left disappointed that they do not listen to me, and they are not cheap. Even when I speak up they do what they want. And ultimately the good ones (techs) are like I said are good! Last time I went in she stabbed me 3 times and I asked for someone else. Thao was amazing with my first visit to T Spa. For those quick lookers, I did a dip powder set for $43 and a gel pedicure for $40. I waited about 25 minutes with no appointment and they do take card. I came in, not knowing what to expect. I was seated at a bar to wait, while browsing through MANY dip colors. I chose a color and the receptionist seated me. Thao came to work on my nails. She suggested manicuring my hands due to dry skin, and I accepted. She was quick and detailed with the dip powder process, which I appreciated! I asked if they had time for a pedicure and she offered to do it herself. She took my things, ran my water and did such. She brought me a hot towel for my hands to get the excess dip off, completed my pedicure with detail and explained how I can prevent my dry skin from building up. She constantly made sure I was happy with my nails, and was genuine about it. She took double takes at them all before I left and filed a few, and removed more dry skin. I really appreciate kind, detailed nail techs who make me feel relaxed. This does not feel like a sweat shop, it truly feels comfortable and welcoming. As long as my dip powder lasts a reasonable amount of time, I will be back :) read more

Overall I am very unhappy. I came in for a full set and waited (no joke) two hours. I watched multiple people who came in AFTER me leave BEFORE me with a full set. Twice I had a technician begin my set only to walk away and tell me someone else would help me later. I understand they were busy, and I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt until I was treated poorly. The man who did my nails, (unfortunately I did not catch his name) was clearly more concerned about finishing my set quickly than doing a good job. He was very rough with my hands and the dremel nicked me multiple times because he was continuously moving around, looking the opposite direction and talking to co-workers on the opposite side of the room. My ring finger (which got most of the beating ) was sore for 2 days. I worried the broken skin would lead to infection. *5 days later, I am relieved to say, there is no pain or infection... phew! Needless to say, i felt uneasy. My nails are bumpy. The shape on multiple nails are wonky and lopsided. They're pointier than I like, which is disappointing as I politely expressed to him multiple times while he was working that I preferred a more rounded almond shape. I wouldn't so much mind them being pointier than I like if the nails themself weren't so lumpy and bumpy. Hopefully this is illustrated well in the pictures I've included. The nails aren't awful, but the way I was treated after a 2 hour wait was unacceptable, and I now have lumpy nails for (at least) the next two weeks. I watched him meticulously tend to the customers before me who brought him a grande Starbucks coffee and breakfast sandwich, and then completely disregard me and the service I paid for. I guess if you want to be treated like a human you must come bearing gifts. There was no reason for this treatment. I've gone to this nail salon for about 2 months now, the previous place I was going my gel had chipped and the acrylic would break off. I have not had any problems since getting my nails done at T-spa nails. Ken and Kevin are wonderful nail technicians. They are patient and are happy to do designs whether it's your idea or a photo. Ken did my halloween nails and suggested the 3D spider and it came out amazing, stayed on for the entire 2 weeks until I went to get my nails done again. Kevin did my sponge bob nails, I brought in a paper with my designs and he made sure to talk with me to make sure every nail was exactly to my liking. Everyone is very friendly. If you're looking for a pedicure, I've had two pedicures and both times were great they take the time to really massage and let you relax, that's personally my favorite part and I've been to other nail salon where they just rub the lotion around but T-Spa nails really knows what they're doing and is worth what you pay. Not only do none of my nails look uniform my nail tech managed to burn every single one of my fingers. Four times I had moved my hands because she was grinding into my nail bed and when she clipped my cuticles back she cut them to short and my cuticles started to bleed.
