I recently purchased a new 5c iPhone from this store. I went in about a week before the 9/20 release date and was helped by David N. I explained to him that I was interested in either a 5c or a 5s. He explained the different features of each model. I have a family plan with my mom and I also asked him about adding data to her line and about giving her my old phone. He listened intently and mapped out how we would make the necessary changes to my account once I purchased my new phone. He took notes on how my plan would change and told me he would call me as we got closer to the release date. I was impressed with David's thoroughness, knowledge of the plans and products, and overall friendliness. A couple days later, David called me to let me know how stock looked on both models. About a week after that, I called David to tell him that I decided to go with the 5c and that I would be in later that day. When I walked in, he was working with a customer. After recognizing me, he asked another associate to finish up with the customer he was working with so he could help me. I was amazed as he must have talked to hundreds of customers in the past week. Not only did he remember our conversations, he had the notes he had taken during our first meeting handy and ready to be referenced. He proceeded to grab the phone he set aside for me, walked me through the setup, transferred my contacts from my old phone to my new phone, and quickly made the changes to my plan. He explained the options to me very clearly and used the notes he had taken the first time I was in there, to quickly determine what changes needed to be made. He even explained how I could wipe my old phone and how to perform a factory reset so I could pass it on to my mom. I walked out of the store with a lovely new phone and a smile on my face. My phone was set up, my plan was changed, and I was amazed at the perfect customer service I received. David was knowledgeable, friendly, patient, organized, and just a pleasure to work with! read more

My partner and I recently upgraded our T-Mobile account to go "smart." Not knowing my Android from my Thyroid, we needed expert assistance, knowledgeable support, and incredible patience. We read Yelp reviews and decided to go into the T-Mobile store at Diversey and Broadway, in Lincoln Park. And, boy, were we EXTRA glad that we were greeted and waited on by Natalie. This is my first Yelp posting. I just had to brag on Natalie, Mike and Co at this location! One of the main reasons I went with T-Mobile is because of the great customer service I received from this location while researching different Smart phone dealers. I figured if they took this much time with me even though I could've left without making a purchase, then this is the provider for me. Natalie helped me and she was, and is, extremely knowledgeable about their products and matched them with my needs. I did not feel any pressure to buy, and being a relative newbie to the smart-phone world, I appreciated her taking the time to explain many of the features. I ended up with the T-Mobile My Touch. When I decided to purchase one of the laptop web sticks, they were out of the particular model I wanted. Mike made the extra effort to find one at another nearby T-Mobile store for me. And when I had a bit of trouble using the web stick, I brought my lap top in and they got on the phone with their Tech department to resolve the issue. I don't go to any other T-Mobile stores for new products, questions, etc. This location has spoiled me rotten! After a horrible experience with another cell phone provider I was hurt, beat up, I didn't know what good love was from a cell phone company..... then I found T-Mobile. I did my research to see which company was good with customer service and T-Mobile supposedly was one of the best. I went in and got my phone last August and I have not been dissappointed. There have been a few hiccups along the way but they have made good on everything. The thing about T-Mobile is that they have great employees. They love their jobs; they give their undivided attention; they are pleasant. They really take care of us, especially Mireya in the Clark Street location. Here is how it is. I recently had a stressful situation when my wife had difficulty transferring from one T-Mobile iPhone to a new one. You want to build a little character? Try getting out of this one! I walked her down to T-Mobile on Clark Street, just south of Division, where we had to good luck to run into Mireya. Mireya saved the day, probably our marriage, and possibly even my life! Well, I bought an unlocked iPhone 4 on apple.com but needed a micro Sim card to use it. I called the call center and got nowhere so I went back here. The dude was super cool. He told me to switch out my old Sim card for the micro for only $10 + tax. They let me activate it at the store before leaving AND I had NO HASSELS!!!! Works perfectly, no contract extension AND I have a rock bottom price plan! ALL GOOD IN THE HOOD HERE!!!! read more

This is a good cell phone store. Vince helped me upgrade to a data plan and pick out a new phone, and he was totally friendly, laid-back and knowledgeable. There was a steady stream of customers into the store at about seven pm on a Monday, and the manager and two customer service people handled them with care. The service there is fantastic. I had problems with a phone and they are helpful as can be. Friendly service, knowledgeable and quick. This is NOT one of those franchise stores!!!! Stay away from the franchise stores they sell you a product than your screwed....The one in Andersonville is franchise and not helpful...only if you pay. Go here!!! Incompetent and rude are the two words I would use for the mobile as a whole. The staff in this shop exemplified this. My phone is a Sony Xperia Z and I purchased their $60 plan for 3gb of 4G data. The 4G never worked so I was stuck on the horrendous edge network for a month. Customer service on the phone and the assistants in this shop fed me full of nonsense of how there were communication upgrades in my area, even though my roommates phone worked on t mobiles 4G network. I was offered no help, or at least credit to my account. I told them in shop of my problems and how I wanted to switch network and the ignoramus assistant lost interest in me and was no help. This was a month ago. I then switched to at and t who have a shop around the corner on diversey. The shop assistants were far better and even recognised me and were friendly when I went back to renew my plan. They tested 4G would work on my phone with a sim card in store before selling to me. 4G data has worked perfectly since. Bottom line is only use t mobile if your willing to gamble your money. read more

Switched to T-mobile from Verizon based on promises of great customer service and have none stop problems since. I went into this T-mobile on October 27th and spent 3+ hours in the store. Had to come back 3 days later once they got my phone in an waited another 3+ hours to get my phone set up. I was supposed to get a $275 device reimbursement from switching from T-mobile to Verizon and it is now February 15th and I have spent over 8 hours on the phone with T-mobile as the guy who set up my account did not set it up correctly and now the T-mobile customer service is telling me that the 4 agents I have talked to did not have the right paper work and they sent me a gift card for $76?? WHAT? Like seriously how is this this bad? I have now been on hold for 45 minutes to get to a manager to talk to about this issue as the phone representative has now blamed me for all of the agents and the guy who set up my phone at this store. Seriously considering switching back to Verizon. This is absurd. UPDATE: Just got off the phone with T-mobile (an hour later) and because the store manager did not explain the promotion to me along with the 4 phone agents I had talked to, including the one who transferred me to the manager, I am receiving $175 LESS than I was told I was to receive. read more

I had satisfying customer service experiences there until today. I bought a pre-paid card back in Nov for my dad visiting from China. It is $10 sim card charge + $10 value. He barely used it, then it expired after 90 days. Today I asked if it can be reopened so I can at least not pay the $10 sim card charge again: I was told that I need to give my pin number. I don't remember I ever set a pin number and after much agony and various guesses I cannot remember it. But that is the only way that I can retrieve any value from the card. Even though I opened it myself: there is no record of my name or any other identifier. My husband thinks that this is intended for criminals: it gives them an absolutely anonymous way of using the phone. Shame on Tmobile. I am not paying $20 dollars so my visitor can use it for a day. read more

Joey is very knowledgeable about the benefits and negatives of different phones and I choose a Galaxy. I love my phone and plan to be a T-Mobile customer for a long time. read more

This is the worst T-Mobile I have ever been to. Terrible customer service, absolutely no fairness of order in helping people, and people who they don't want to take the time to help with will blatently dismiss them with unknowledegable answers just to get rid of them to wait on other customers. Their attitudes are terrible. Standing in line for almost an hour, I see how they operate. If you are a blond young person, you have it made. They perk up and actually pay attention or pretend to be of what they're saying. They will spend forever with them explaining or pretending to explain their phone issues. if you are not of this type forget it. You will be told anything, short answers that do not make sense, uninterested service, and even told to step aside so someone else can be helped.You will walk out of the store after standing in line for an hour with the same phone problem you walked in with. Nothing solved. These people know nothing about fixing problems with phones. They are limited in their knowledge. They are like robots. They only know certain things to say and do and they go on and on about nothing. I heard them explain a form for 10 minutes to a customer, that would normally take 1 minute to explain. Figure the math, there were 5 forms X10, almost an hour, plus folding the papers and stapling them took another 5 minutes, which would normally take 10 seconds. Their conversations with people never end, having to wait in line listening to their stupidity. No offense to the people who go there, but please leave once you get your new phone. Don't go asking a million questions to these T-Mobile workers who are rude and clueless of their products. Go to another T-mobile where the workers are knowledgeable and have an actual interest in helping you solve any problem or issue. read more

I hate to write a bad review about a store but I feel that I need to let everyone know about this sales rep name Joey G. Awful customer service. I walked into the store and saw ((Joey)) arguing with a customer already. Then i saw him just walked off/ignoring the customer. I couldnt believe it. Bad customer service!!! So I was in the line with maybe 7 ppl but Joey still hiding in the back room and not helping. A rep up front page for him. He came out and saw the long line then decided not to take care of any customers waiting for help but to pick up the phone pretending to be busy. So, he was on the phone for almost half an hour, gosh, what's priority!!! Unfortunately, I was next in the line and he was helping me with my phone. I was so frustrated of the fact that my phone wasn't working. I just want it to be fix and leave. But he wasn't helpful at all. Really, i don't care how the hell ur system works and of course I have no idea what's the life span of a sim card!! This man treated me like i'm stupid when i have no idea what he was talking about the phone internally and externally. He repeatley look around to see if anyone is paying attention to our conversation. When a man laugh behind me....he repeated it and be louder. Crazy man!! He should be fired. Seriously!! read more

T-Mobile representative came into my business and sold me on the service. She stated that T-Mobile would pay the termination fees for current carrier. I later found out that what the company would do was offer me a credit toward my T-Mobile account, but that I would still have to pay the termination penalty with my current carrier. Because that was not the deal I signed up I cancelled the service. My cell number was never transferred to T-Mobile and I never used the cell phone they sent me. All of this was done within 10-days. The representative that originally signed me up for the service, stated she would get back with me to walk me through the activation process, never showed back up or called me. This woman solicited me at my place of business. I shipped the phone back using FedEx and have documentation and a signature from a T-Mobile representative who signed for the return. This transaction took place 8/26/15, phone returned 9/4. In November, I receive a bill from T-Mobile for $700+. When I contacted T-Mobile, I was told they had no evidence of ever receiving the cell phone back and could not help me. In December I started getting correspondence from a collection company. When I contacted T-Mobile, they told me that because the account had been turned over to the collection company they could not help me and I needed to address my concern with the collection company. When I contacted the collection company, I was told that since I had signed up for the service, I was obligated to pay them $275. That it did not make any difference that I had sent the phone back and had not used the service. He told me it was the same thing as signing up for cable service. You still had to pay even if you did not use the service. I am horrified. I now need to dispute the charges with the credit unions and report this incident to the Better Business Bureau. read more

I came in because I had cracked my screen and luckily have jump and was eligible for an upgrade. As soon as I walked into the store Stephanie (not sure if I am spelling her name right) greeted me and asked if I needed any help. She even showed me her phone and what she likes about it to help me decide what I was looking for. She was just getting off so I ended up working with Jesus to wrap up my upgrade but before she left she made sure that Jesus knew what I was looking for and he did a wonderful job of showing me all the features on almost all of the Android phones in the store -- all the ones I was interested in anyway and a few that I hadn't considered. This was actually really great because I ended up getting the Samsung S6 Edge which I really hadn't considered until I got into the store. I've always been a Nexus kind of person and Samsung tends to put a lot of bloat ware on top but I wasn't aware of some of the multi-tasking features that they have to, which is what Jesus was showing me and it really tipped the decision in Samsung's favor. It's really nice to walk into a store and talk to staff that's knowledgable about the products that they have. And not only was it a smooth process to get upgraded, I also added a line of service because of the great promo that they have going. There was one hitch that the new phone that I got didn't recognize the data service right after I had left the store. Even though it was after 8pm (when they close) they let me back in to fix the issue, it was a little delayed so I came back a second time at like 8:30pm but they still let me back in and said if I have any further issues not to hesitate to come back. The data issue wasn't really the staff's fault at all (I know that it has to propagate through the network) but their willingness to help and to call the second tier tech support while I was there was above and beyond and I'd definitely recommend this location.
