    Mussels in Roquefort
    Jolie W.

We were looking for a great dinner place and saw wonderful review but unfortunately they were all booked on Saturday. Luckily they accommodated our dinner reservation for Sunday for 4 people and I have to say it was our best meal in Bruges! We got an appetizer to start with an order of Roquefort mussels and they big, tender and delicious. Maybe the best mussels we have ever had. We also had wonderful local beer. The owner brought out a little cup of olives and salami to start before the mussels, very nice touch. We all loved our meals as they were presented beautifully (o forgot to take pictures because I couldn't wait to eat my meal!!) and the timing was perfect. I had the seafood stew which consisted of 3 fish, rice and more mussels! It was wonderful. Husband had salmon with mashed potatoes in a light sauce, wonderful. Our friends had the lamp chops with mashed potatoes and green beans and the beef stew with frites, all amazing. We had no room for dessert but everyone loved the food and the service. It is owned and run by Kennedy and his family and he made us feel like we were special and anticipated our needs--we never felt like we were not taken care of and the meals were all a work of art. We would come back again and again!!

We are very happy with the good and service we received. We are a family of 6 Filipino/ Americans. We ordered the menu of the day which includes a shrimp croquettes, beef stew, and fries, w/ ice cream dessert + water. We were so full with the delicious food! Thanks!

One of the best meals I had on our trip to Europe. The servive was excellent and our waiter made wonderful recommendations. We were delighted with the cozy environment and would highly recommend a visit if you a find yourself in Bruges.

We had a lovely dinner at this family run restaurant. We tried both the garlic and the cheese mussels. We also had the fries, which were good but nothing incredibly different. The waitstaff was so lovely and we ate outside in a cute, open area. I would definitely recommend dining here if you are in Bruge!

Mussels and fries were amazing. The shrimp was outstanding. The beef dish was great as well. We were only in Brugge overnight and we ate here twice. I'll eat here on my next trip as well. Service was excellent. Friendly and welcoming.

My wife and I ate here twice for dinner in our week in Brugge. The reason this restaurant was our only repeat dinner was the food quality Flemish food and very friendly staff. Price points are the same for typical Flemish meals in the old city of Brugge so choice comes down to quality and service. Although it is adjacent to the river, the interior of the restaurant has an intimate setting which makes it seem separate from the many people walking along the street or small square. Mussels were tried both with white wine and garlic and both were excellent. Flemish stew was tender chunks of beef. Pour down with a glass of Jupiler beer. Yum, ow that is a meal!

Cutest little restaurant, lamb is the specialty. I had the fish stew which was fantastic. It had 3 types of fish, mussels and shrimp. Cheese croquettes were great too. My vegetarian friend had the salad & fries, both were decent, she reports. I highly recommend this quiet & quaint restaurant in a small square.

We ordered mussels in white wine sauce and local Bruges Zot beer which are delicious. The service and market square view are nice.

It checked all the boxes I was looking for - local Belgian cuisine, affordable, close by, and open late. Exactly what you want after a long day of drinking Belgian beers. I didn't realize ribs were such a big deal in Belgium, so I was genuinely excited when I ordered them... only to feel deep disappointment when the server returned to let me know they had just sold out. Luckily, I pivoted to the vol-au-vent and had absolutely no regrets. The chicken was moist and creamy, and the pastry was incredibly flaky and light. Naturally, I paired it with a Trappist ale, which felt mandatory. Cozy, satisfying, and quintessentially Belgian--this spot lived up to the recommendation and then some.

My son loved his beef stew and applesauce. My husband loved his salmon and I absolutely loved my salad! The tomatoes tasted like they were right out of a garden!! The waiters were very nice and helpful, making recommendations that proved to be amazing!

However do not let this deter you. They are highly efficient and have a system therefore the wait goes fast. Just be sure to be situationally aware. It's along a busy street where a lot of horse carriage rides transit, so don't hang out in the street. Also, be mindful to step aside once you place your order (probably to the left facing the order window, but do not block the walkway that allows the employees to deliver your order. They call out your number and it's hot and fresh. There was no room to sit on the steps/stoops so I stood and enjoyed my waffle. Personally, I feel like one Belgian waffle is sufficient to share between 2 people because it's rich and really sweet if you get the chocolate one. While I enjoyed it and the presentation was excellent, the waffle was very dense and really chewy. But I think that's how they are since it's made from yeast based dough. It's definitely worth the try, just too sweet and too chewy for my preference. Staff were very friendly and kind as well!!
