When I asked how I could return the items, she said she needed to see the physical card--then changed her explanation and asked to see my PayPal account. After I showed her the online receipt showing the pictures of what I bought, plus my PayPal account as she requested, she changed her narrative again, saying that each item had to be returned separately. This tells me that either she had no clue what she was doing or the company policy is that deceiving. As I mentioned, this is not the first time I've had trouble returning a PayPal purchase here. We spent over 30 minutes trying to return 3 blouses, ( we were finally able to return them)--all while standing in a store with the A/C turned off in the middle of a hot Miami summer. That decision is not the customer's responsibility. If your company is unable to maintain an adequate supply of those bags, that is an issue that needs to be addressed internally. Customers should not be inconvenienced, restricted, or treated disrespectfully because of a supply issue resulting from a corporate decision. Your employees should not be telling customers how they are allowed to use the bags at self-checkout, especially when the bag racks are empty or there are not enough bags available for the amount of merchandise being purchased. I should not be told that I am limited to two or three bags when I have a full cart of merchandise. I also should not be told to stuff the bags completely to the top and essentially be told, "if it breaks, it breaks." That is completely unacceptable. It is also unacceptable for an employee to tell a customer that there are no bags available, leaving the customer with no option other than purchasing the bags being sold on the wall. This is a corporate decision, and the consequences of that decision should not be placed on the customer. If your stores cannot consistently keep these bags stocked, I strongly suggest bringing the plastic bags back until you can provide customers with a reliable supply of bags. Customers should not be expected to deal with restrictions, additional costs, or poor treatment because the company made a change without ensuring it could adequately support that change.
