The presentation isn't the best but yeah the taste pops in your mouth. I highly recommend!

I was visiting my brother and his wife in Dallas. My brother told me I had to try TD's that it was the best BBQ he has had since living in Dallas. I'll start by saying that the place was friendly and welcoming. To be transparent, it was not the cleanest place, but it's the type of place that I'd like to visit to try out some BBQ! I ordered the rib plate with a side of potato salad, baked beans, corn bread, and a slice of pound cake. My fiancé ordered a rib sandwich, small baked beans, and a slice of strawberry cake with white icing. The ribs were very tender and the BBQ sauce was simply immaculate. There were a good number of ribs, but they were small and not as meaty as I would've wanted them to be. The potato salad was ok - the mustard was a bit strong. But those (vegetarian) baked beans were finger lickn' good. I'd highly recommend giving them a try. The cornbread was a bit dry, unfortunately. We enjoyed our cakes. The pound cake was the better choice out of the two. The strawberry cake had a "Captain Crunch" after taste that made us think it was more of a box cake than homemade. Overall, give this place a try and test it out for yourselves. My friend ordered the brisket sandwich and enjoyed it. His only grip was that he wish he would've asked for extra meat.

    baked potato.... so delicious!

I finally got to try this place out last night after hearing about it for a year from my husband. (He's born and raised here in Dallas and I just moved here from LA a year and a half ago.) It is definitely a hole in the wall restaurant. When we entered it smelled of smoke and I could already tell that I was going to like this place. My husband ordered me a baked potato. Now let me tell you... this ain't a normal baked potato. They prepare a fully loaded baked potato. bacon bits and all. then they top it with chopped beef bbq and some of that delicious sauce. oh and the sauce, you have to get half mild and half hot. i have to tell you, this baked potatoe changed my life!! hahah.... as for drinks, i had me some of that kool-aid. they had strawberry and they make it super sweet. husband thought it was too sweet but i thought it was just perfect. i definitely recommend this joint! i need to go again soon.... i can't stop thinking about it! :)))

Baked Potato , ALL THE WAY !

This man deserves a Michelin star for the greatest food I've ever tasted ! My fiancé had raved about this place when he first visited Texas ( we're from California ) and I can absolutely see why . The baked potato all the way is enough to feed two people, they're Ribs, chopped beef sandwiches- seriously pick anything off the menu and you'll be coming back to this place daily like we did . & the service .. it's southern hospitality so you can't expect anything less, everyone was sooo nice and helpful . I cannot wait to go back, can y'all guess my first stop when landing ? TD'S !!

Links, ribs, Mac n cheese and yams! We also had fruit punch kool aid!

Everything was yummy, the tomato soup and grilled cheese hit all the old memories and the dark meet chicken was so yummy and don't sleep on the fries! May be the best French fries I've had in ages, idk what seasoning they use but trust me, try them! I really liked they have a variety of canned drinks with some healthy options I had not seen before, I had a canned Thai tea (from a local vendor) tha was amazing and perfectly sweet, This is not a traditional dining room but a "pick-up" kind of place. All the orders are prepared to go and they have a couple of small picnic tables outside they could see the total of 6 to 8 people but for the most part, you should plan to pick up your food and bring it home or enjoy it as a picnic. There is a pay to park lot across the street that has plenty of spots and they validate so don't worry about finding street parking. Would highly recommend you stop by! I'll definitely be returning!

This is Brandi's delightful Husband. Today is their NINETH ANNIVERSARY and they chose to make their customers' Happy here at ROOTED LOVE. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity that they BOTH gave me. The insightfulness of Brandi, and Husband Zavier is Phenomenally inspiring and amazing. I just found out that there a separate company working within Recipe OakCliff. I purchased a number of items solely based on Brandi's expertise and Zavier's knowledge as well. I know I've only resided in The Lone Star state for about four years now and this is the betterment of my life in this state. I'm so thankful that my Natural Grocers guy HIGHLY RECOMMENDED me to visit Recipe OakCliff cause I wouldn't have met The Black Owners of Rooted Love. I caught this truck at Klyde Warren park on a weekend, and decided to stop by for the first time. I…read morecould have gone to any of the other seven or so food trucks lined up next to it, but my belly was telling me it was a Cajun food/fried seafood sort of day. Best decision ever, belly! The shrimp basket was out of this world: eight jumbo fried shrimp served with texas toast, french fries, and pickle slices. I got some ketchup packets for dipping purposes, but they were ultimately useless because the spicy tartar sauce (?) that was included just owned everything. And the shrimp... likely the best I've had in my life. Those plump crustaceans were enrobed in the lightest coat of batter and fried to crispy perfection. The only downside to my meal was that the pickles were buried under the fries, causing some loss of crispiness to two fries. But I don't think this will prevent me from coming back, as all of the other fried goods I saw people getting looked equally amazing. Maybe some fried mac and cheese next time... And as a side note, props to the service. Before placing my order, I was warned that it would be a fifteen minute wait. Although this, plus ~10 min, is expected of the Klyde Warren food trucks (in my experience), I think that forewarning your customers is one of those small but considerate gestures, and completely necessary. So I took a seat at one of the nearby park tables, while customers of less considerate food trucks paced deliriously back and forth before me, checking on their orders every five minutes and totally exacerbating their hunger pains.

So I'm at Klyde Warren on Sunday posted up by the stage so I sitting where the food trucks start. I'm so glad I walked all the way down to the end because there sat the Lab Food Truck, the name kinda of threw me off because I saw flames but had no clue what goodness was on that truck. First thing that caught my eye was poboy I love a good poboy and my decision was made, plus I had the option of spicy or regular? Well give me spicy. The portion was really a nice size for a food truck. The serving was comparable to any sit down restaurant and the flavor exceed many sit down restaurants as well. When they handed me my sandwich I hurried and walked back to my table protecting my sandwich from all the canine sniffing noses. That poboy was wonderful it was fresh shrimp and oh so spicy. The bread was buttery and toasty. The remoulade sauce was tasty but not even necessary. The fries were standard but it was all about the poboy. I cannot wait to try other offerings from the Lab Food Truck, one of my friends arrived late and she went and got the same thing and neither one of use were disappointed. This is a must try again.
