I stayed in a house maintained by Haustay recently in Encinitas. My review is mixed because the…read morehouse was not well maintained but the house itself was nice. The basic like linens and towels were clean, but it seemed like the house had not had a deep cleaning in a long time. Seating cushions were stained and when I lifted them up, there was bits of food underneath from some previous guest. The bathroom in the room I stayed in had some issues where some fixtures were misinstalled or needed service and sprayed were you don't want them spraying. And the A/C in the master bath was broken when I arrived. There was a note saying they were aware it was broken, but no one came by to fix it during my stay. The fan in the room was not adequate to cool the room in the afternoon. And the type of breakage of the A/C (apparently it leaked water) suggests it was not regularly maintained (eg the condensate drainage lines were not maintained and clogged). I will say on the positive side, the house had a beefy EV charger, which was super handy. EDIT: Msg to Haustay - I stayed as a guest on someone else's reservation. Airbnb knew about it (I have the emails). No idea why you don't.

NEW OWNER ALERT! Cockroaches, raw sewage, broken toilets, syringes. Booked 2 bdrm 2 bath beachfront…read more8/24-8/31 for a family reunion at a neighboring hotel. Have been a customer for 17 years as have many family members and friends. Checked in, paid my balance by check and they cashed within an hour. Arrived in room to 2 dead cockroaches and a toilet which wouldn't flush. A live roach runs into bathroom and under sink. Told mgr Lily she called maintenance man who should arrive in hour or two. In the mean time, chased 2-3 other cockroaches killed one. Wife flushed other toilet to see if it worked and it overflowed on to floor and shower backed up spewing sewage. The smell was unbearable. Put down towels called manager she said she'd call plumber now. Went to get a glass in the cupboard and found a glass full of syringes. Obviously this place has not been cleaned. BROKEN TOILETS, LIVE AND DEAD COCKROACHES, RAW SEWAGE,SYRINGES were the issues within the first two hours of our family vacation. Plumber arrived and fixed plumbing. Still nobody cleaned bathroom floor or shower. And it reeked of sewage. We asked if anyone was going to clean up the roaches and the manager finally did. Manager tried to get us to stay with discounts and other rooms but they had nothing comparable and we were disgusted and really couldn't see ourselves staying anywhere in this place. We chased a roach and moved a chest of drawers and found RODENT AND COCKROACH FECES (see photo)Final straw was my son finding roaches climbing up from the drain in the shower into the pan. That's it. We never unpacked so we put everything in the truck and drove 2 hours home. Vacation week ruined. Family reunion ruined. I called the next morning and spoke to Lily and said I was driving down to pick up my refund. She confirmed that I would be getting 100% refund and that the owner was there and valued us as a customer and wanted a second chance. All I wanted was my money back I said. Drove 2 1/2 hours to be greeted by a check for half my total. So they kept $2400. Unbelievable. I will never give uLIARS on top of it Enjoy the photos. I have more and video to be posted. UPDATE. Owner called 9/12 and said he would be sending the balance of the refund. STILL NOTHING. After a month, I received a full refund. Not pleased with what I had to do, and was prepared to do in order to effectuate the full refund. They could have tried to make it right but failed. Sorry to say we won't be customers again.

I'm staying in a two bedroom that's very spacious. We have a family of four and it's perfect. Two bedroom and two baths. This is a boutique feel, the staff is incredible. They have beach towels, toys, chairs and umbrellas to make your beach day perfection. The rooms are completely remodeled with a modern, beachy feel. The beds are comfortable with fluffy pillows and white comforters. I'm here in the peak season and it's around $7k for a week. I personally think it's worth paying more to be right on the beach. It's absolutely heaven to wake up to the sounds of the ocean and see the sunset on the water every night. Also, it's dog friendly!

The keeper Ernesto said he power washed it beforehand and tried to make sure everything was good to go. I appreciate it very much. They were very accommodating and extremely responsive. Very nice people! We opted in for the tour when we got there and I highly recommend it. He showed us all the animals and property with tidbits of knowledge sprinkled in. We had a small hiccup with the ac but he was immediately there to fix it. The place felt very magical especially at night. Everything was clean and the animals area were spotless as well. The property is massive giving it a private feeling. I highly highly recommend the whole experience and will be booking in the future!

I personally loved staying in Unit #4, you have the best of both worlds, proximity to the upper street during the day and the stunning ocean view on the upper level. The unit is small but honestly the perfect size for a couple. It's an older building but that adds to the charm. You truly feel like you are living like a local. It comes equipped with everything you need. Plenty of linens and toiletries. Even beach chairs and lanterns. The high deck chairs on the patio are perfect for sitting and watching the sunset or looking for dolphins off the coast. I felt super safe the whole time. The property is within walking distance to coffee shops, the pier, dining and more. Highly recommend a stay. Can't wait to go back.
