Visited this cute little shop while visiting from Lancaster. Although it is a small shop, the selection is pretty great and the plants are well taken care of. The super sweet young lady that was there today was super helpful with care and honesty about the difficulty of the plants-which was MUCH appreciated! I purchased 2 plants and a little super cute propagation station! I highly recommend checking out this cute shop and supporting the locals!

I am so happy that I found this place. The owner is so sweet. She helped me a ton. Can't wait to return. I bought 3 plants & 3 pots. I have a photo of my small magnetic air plant

Outside the shop. Follow the signs off Walnut Street!

This shop is the cutest! So well curated, and even though it's small they have options in a wide range of sizes and prices. Love love love!

I worked with the owner of Scribe to create a custom double blind stamped Letterpress personal stationary suite which was extremely time consuming and expensive. I was fine with high pricing as the last time I ordered personal stationary, I did so in NYC. Instead of ordering from NYC again, I chose to support a local business, SCRIBE, which I regret. When I attempted to reorder pieces that I am running low on, I was told by the owner that I would have to start the entire process again because the company she used is out of business. Considering this is a boutique and not a large store, seems like that fact should have been communicated to me in advance of them going out of business, so I could have the opportunity to order large quantities prior to having to redesign the entire suite. I much prefer to shop at boutiques and to support local businesses, regardless of paying higher prices. In this case, that preference turned out to be a huge mistake. I highly recommend Bene Nota in Aspinwall or Papier in Sewickley. Both of those boutiques have been understanding, accommodating and actually operate as a high end boutique. Sadly, SCRIBE charges boutique prices yet provides big box store service. My suggestion to SCRIBE would be If you are going to sell personal stationary for one to have for years to come, please notify said customers in advance of those custom items becoming unavailable so they might order large quantities of back stock in advance.

No additional signage, just a sign saying they open at 11:30 on Tuesdays. (Not 10, like Yelp/Google say.) I'm standing there at 2pm, staring at a 'closed' sign, with the open hours clearly saying they should be open while I'm standing there. I'm aware life will happen, but in that case, you post a sign saying why you're closed, and when you expect to be back. Like 'getting lunch, back at 1', 'closed early for vet appt' and so on. You don't just... do nothing. Honestly, speaking as a former small-shop-in-a-small-town owner myself, the lack of note or warning is disrespectful. If your hours aren't reliable, what does that say about the rest of your shop? Do you even care you're risking losing customers? And what certainty does the customer know you'll be open the next time they come by? If your hours are so changeable customers have to call ahead to see if you're open, then don't bother promising them hours you don't intend to keep. Just say Sun-Sat, open by appointment, please call ahead.

I always buy something when I'm here, and I always have to remind myself not to buy every beautiful thing I see. Even though I really want to! This is a little shop so with all the goodies on display, parts of it are pretty cozy. While this means I'm always very careful with my bags (I don't want to knock things down!), I don't mind. It's certainly not a bad thing to take my time in here looking through the shelves and racks of goodies. Funny magnets, cute greeting cards, pretty jewelry, eye-catching notebooks, colorful paperweights, unique stationery...the list of things here almost feels neverending. Often during visits I also take time to chat with the owner, who is a delight to speak with and who always makes me laugh with her stories and humor. As someone who doesn't usually like chatting while browsing and shopping, I think it says a lot about the store as a whole that I'm able to relax that much while I'm in here. I definitely look forward to future visits here, and I also recommend this shop for your own shopping needs! From custom designs to sweet gifts to snarky greeting cards, there's definitely something here for you, a family member, or a friend.
