Qui is exactly what I was looking for in a stylist. As a male who is growing his hair out for the first time, she blended questions of my preferences and her recommendations perfectly. I don't really know what I'm doing with my hair and I felt very much at ease in Qui's hands. I had my first keratin treatment today and will be back for my next trim and then keratin service and trim! read more

I decided to try this salon out since it was close to my house. The appointment process was great, you could book online for the services you wanted. She took me right away, there was no one else in the salon. I explained I wanted a few highlights, root touchup and cut. She wanted to do more highlights, but I said no, just a couple face framing. She walked away to figure out the pricing and came back with a 500 dollar quote. I was taken aback- I have paid a lot for hair before but at a very trendy salon, and a lot of highlights. I asked her to just to the root touch up and cut then. She suggested just a few highlights (what I had requested before) and I agreed. She went back to the register to figure out the new price and was slightly cheaper. Still a lot, but I needed my hair done. I explained I wanted lighter highlights and I didn't like red, more blond. Getting to the hair cut, she decided I needed a lot cut off. I was not happy with the cut at all, did not do what I asked. When my hair was dry, I saw she had given me red highlights. I would not recommend, very expensive- and did not do what I asked. read more

I went in for a long medium, layered face, framing, thinning haircut, my boyfriend previously went and recommended them so I went. I absolutely loved it and will be returning. They were so kind. The vibe was amazing and peaceful. Definitely would recommend!! read more

Synergy Salon - Photo of the salon and my haircut - Hair Salons Near Me - Matthews, North Carolina

Synergy Salon is wonderful. My hair is damaged and I had to cut it off to the shoulders, sadly. Quy Quy is rejuvenating my hair and I might soon be able to be blonde again and grow my hair back out! Thank you! The atmosphere is so relaxing and Quy Quy listened to all of my concerns and hair goals. So happy to be taken care of here. Parking is available & I highly recommend this salon! read more

Do not go here unless you get the price upfront. I took my 13 year old granddaughter, and 8 year old granddaughter for cut and blowdry. I was told $140 for my 13 year old and $110 for my 8 year old. To be fair I should have walked out but I didn't want to let my granddaughters down as they were so excited. For that price I thought their hair would be amazing, but it was far from that. I decided not to get my 8 year olds done. I was told they would cut it with no shampoo and blow for $50, so they are charging $60 for shampoo and blowdry! I feel totally ripped off! read more

my scalp was burned from color left on too long, and the shampoo girl had practically boiling water washing my hair. way overpriced, rude, and doesn't listen to what you want. I wanted a slight trim and she chopped my hair saying it was necessary. read more

I wanted to go from a salt and pepper chin length to an ear length white/grey (see pictures). I requested an estimate in price. I nearly fell off the chair. She quoted me $360 to start. That seemed way too much. She was pleasant enough but the price was too high. The salon was not tremendously clean and a bit run down. Empty when I walked in but globs of hair floating around the floor. Pass. read more

Waited 30 minutes past my appointment time to be seen. Requested my halo extension to be cut as it was longer than I wanted. No shampoo, no blow dry, no style, no cutting of my own hair. 15 mins in the chair. CHARGED $90. read more

Very disappointed with this place. I asked for a specific style and got something completely different. The haircut ruined my look and showed that the stylist didn't listen at all. Even though they didn't charge me, the experience was frustrating and unprofessional. I would not recommend this salon if you care about getting exactly what you ask for. read more

Horrible experience. Worst cut and color I have ever had. Quy ruined my hair and I am out $400 dollars. She quoted me $250 on phone then changed the price when she got me in the chair. Instead of foiling my hair- she did a lazy job doing a layer of bleach then a layer of brown and repeated until done. She dry cut my hair prior to the color and gave me horribly uneven layers. It looks awful even in a ponytail. When finished she told me to wear it curly til I came back in 3 weeks where she was planning on charging me $90 to fix my color! My bangs are terribly uneven. Below is the color and cut I asked for which she indicated I had plenty of hair to do and assured me she could do it. It is nothing like I paid her for! Do not waste your time money or let her near your hair! Awful business woman awful hairdresser awful human to rip people off! She has the nerve to have my picture on her website after I sent her an email asking for my money back! She never responded. If she doesn't remove my picture I'm going to sue her! It will take a year to grow out this cut and their is no way to flat iron my hair with all the uneven layers. To add insult to injury she illegally posted my picture on her website! read more

Quy is a true professional and knows how to do amazing hair! My hair is super fine and pin straight. She always gives me a perfect cut and wash and I leave feeling like a million bucks. I've also brought my mom and sister in for cuts. Their hair is very different from mine but no worries, Quy knows her stuff. Stop in for a cut and you'll leave feeling amazing! read more

Zero stars. Overpriced. Poor quality. Paid twice as much as a high end salon. Owner quotes one price that is higher than her pricing on her website and then almost doubles it at check out. Pricing started at 250, then ended $385. Services were a partial highlight and cut-blow dry. Website pricing is $103 and $67. When you bring the overpricing to her attention she threatens to call the police and have you arrested if you don't pay the amount she is asking for at the end. Haircut was too short and not even. The color was splotchy. When I explained that I was unhappy with the change in price and quality, she said she would give me $30 back if I didn't post a review. read more

Have been growing my hair for 14 months to get long enough for a French braid. Was super nervous going in, then I met Mrs Quy, and she was amazing talked me through the whole process and what options I had with the length. She did above and beyond my expectations absolutely flawless. I don't leave reviews often but the experience was worth ten stars. I've definitely found my go to hair dresser. Thanks!! read more

Service was okay but definitely overpriced!! I felt like I was getting pushed into getting extra services done. I can't believe it was $130 for a haircut, that's absolutely ridiculous. I paid so much for something that I didn't really end up liking. I will not be coming here ever again. read more

Beware of price changes during the appointment! Quy quoted me $90 over the phone for a medium length, straight hair, fixing a haircut I did myself, shampoo and styling. Which already seems high for a haircut. I showed up at the location, which is not really high-end and not very clean, and before she started, she increased the price to $100. I was caught off guard, so I said ok. Then, when I was about to pay, the machine read $113, I asked about the price change, and she said she couldn't remember or got confused. As I headed home I called her on the phone, to have a conversation about it, and express to her that it wasn't a good customer experience. She didn't take accountability, gave excuses, got defensive, and said that haircuts could be up to $300. I explained that the issue is not keeping the original quoted price, and trying to get more out of a customer at the last minute. Also, be prepared for product pushing. Haircut now that it's not styled it's actually awful. Very nice wash and styling by Vanessa by the way. I debated whether to write this review, but I read that other people here and in Facebook reviews, had similar experiences, and I realized that this wasn't a one off situation, but the way she might actually do business. Do Not Recommend. I'm so dissapointedBeware of price changes during the appointment! I should have read the Yelp reviews because we too were taken advantage of by this place. I booked my mom an appointment online for a $50 haircut and was charged $95. I don't even pay that at an upscale Ballantyne salon. She also tried to sell us a Revlon hair dryer for $68. Quy also kept typing in different prices on her machine before showing me our checkout cost. I have never experienced such an encounter. I don't even know how this place stays in business. If you want to be taken advantage of, make an appointment today. read more

Amazing service I have been here a few times and love it I highly recommend and will be coming back

The only good thing was a nice washing and a hot towel. It started out with her trying to upsell product, walking around with a basket. Upon sitting down she told me the price would be $90!!! For short hair?!?!?! That's highway robbery and really ridiculous. read more

This salon took advantage of my daughter-in-law. They overcharged her $300 for a color and cut. The color is patchy. The cut is uneven. Do not use this salon! read more

I wanted to love this place because it's close to home and to other shops I frequent. Plus the atmosphere is lovely. Unfortunately, a couple hours before my appointment, I was texted to ask if I could move my appointment time one hour later. I needed to keep my original appointment time due to other obligations. So, when I showed up, Quy was working on someone else. I wound up spending a lot of time under the dryer after having my hair washed while she finished up with the other client. When it was my turn to be seen, I asked for long layers. She cut my hair bluntly, straight across. No layers to be seen. When she showed me my hair, I asked for some layers to be put in. She somewhat hastily cut some layers, but didn't cut them individually. She grabbed large chunks of hair to "layer" my hair. I've never seen it done like that before. Once she was finished, it looked the same as it had before, only the ends were a little thinner. By that time, I had lost trust in her, so I said it was fine and left. Of course, I didn't leave without paying $130. I will not be back, and I wish I'd checked Yelp instead of just Google before scheduling my appointment. read more

They did a good job here I'll keep coming back the lady is very informative and professional

Way overpriced with inconsistent service. Last time I was there Quy "double booked". There were 3 of us there at the same time. Seemed like triple booked to me. It took me 3 hours. Been there several times. Loved my hair the first time. Not so much after that. Over $400 each time. That's way overpriced and more than comparable shops. Not worth it although I will miss the warm towels..... read more

The owner is a very experienced hairstylist and her staff is always super nice. I highly recommend letting this place pamper you!

This business owner does not care about the good of the client. My sister came home to me sobbing because the woman didn't listen to her AT ALL. On the website, we assumed a hair color wouldn't be more than $200 and she tried to make her pay almost $500. She tried to belittle her by telling her she didn't understand all of the things included that creates these prices. She tried to explain her price range and that she'd just leave, but this woman pressured her by telling her she'd make her lose money and she needs this money. She gave her something extremely different than asked for and then told her she had to leave with wet hair, because hair drying costed SIXTY DOLLARS!!! That's as much as a hair dryer COSTS! Then after the hair, the woman tried to pressure her into buying products and travel products after she repeatedly told her she could not afford them. I called her back and she was so rude. I did not have a kind tone, but we are heart broken and this woman took her for a ride around the block. I would save $300 and go ANYWHERE else. Please check the prices online I added for reference. This is extremely misleading. You'd think you'd pay $200 maybe based on this, not $500. WHAT A SCAM ARTIST! read more

Quy and her assistant Vanessa were amazing! I can't believe I've lived in this area for as long as I have and didn't know they were here! I went to this Salon to have my hair straightened. I have had the procedure done before in a different Country so I'm very familiar with the Keratin testament. When the owner started I knew she had no idea what she was doing. I didn't say anything at the time because I just assumed she had a different way. Long story short, she applied the Keratin with just her hand. She dump some of the Keratin in her hand and rubbed it into my scalp. Then but me under the dryer. She was going to then flat iron my hair some crazy way and I said no just make it straight up and down. I went home and washed my hair. The owner didn't tell me I had to wait 2 days before washing my hair so the treatment only lasted about a week. Don't waste your time or money here! My girlfriend got her hair done here as well at the same time and got FUC$ed with her pricing and procedures in hair coloring and cut. read more
