This was my first time doing float therapy and it really was a cool experience! I received a session as a Christmas gift and I was very eager to use it. You can book a session online or call the center. I did have a bit of an issue trying to figure out how to book with my credit so I ended up having to call for assistance. The employee was very helpful and I was able to easily book after speaking with her. I booked one day prior to going and there was a lot of availability. What stood out about the center is that they have different floating options. I wasn't quite ready for the pod, so I chose the floating cabin. There is also an option for something that is similar to a small pool. The center is located in the Old Town Virginia area. There is plenty of parking and a sign to let you know where to enter the building (go down the step). The place is very clean and serene. Upon checking in, there is a beautiful lounge with magazines, tea, and water. The room with the cabin was a nice size. Along with the cabin, there was a shower and an area with a robe and towel. They provide earplugs and petroleum jelly for any cuts. The floating experience was amazing and peaceful! Imagine just floating under the stars in peace and quiet for an hour. The cabin was spacious. You could fit two people in it. I like that they provide a detailed video of how to float on their website. The only thing I would bring to your attention is that I had to wait about 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment to start my session. There was someone scheduled before me in the cabin and they were not done by the time I checked in. Not sure how the scheduling works. So just be prepared for a possible wait. Overall, I would definitely come back for another float session!

This was a Christmas gift last year and I have been enjoying it ever since. Yesterday, my husband and me did individual floats in the float pod and tranquility pod. I have floated in both and although there are minor differences both were great. We felt so relaxed and rejuvenated after our floats. Each room has a shower, towels and a robe. We enjoyed quiet time and tea in the reflection room and got the best night sleep. Staff is great and facility is clean.

This place was just what I needed! It was so relaxing. The staff was friendly. It was my first float and I appreciated the tour, with explanation of the different equipment and float experiences. Loved the relaxing tea room afterward as well.

Man oh man was this exactly what I needed! My wife bought me an amazing package for my birthday and I had been looking forward to visiting Synergy for quite some time. They have plenty of on-site, private parking so no worries of hunting down spaces in Old Town. As this was my first time there was paperwork. Luckily I was able to fill it out ahead of time and get that out of the way. Upon arrival all I had to do was get the intro and off I went! I was given a grand tour of the place by a very knowledgeable staff member. My wife bought me 30 minutes in the infrared sauna and a 60 minute float. Synergy is extremely clean and very well maintained. Once you come out from the back there is a calm room at the front to decompress and gather yourself. It was nice to just sit and relax a little after all of that self-care. Do yourself a favor and have a float!

I really like this place. The own does a good job explaining float therapy. The entire experience is very relaxing. Just make to sure to cover your hair really good because it can be hard to get the salt out of it when you are done with your session.

This place is amazing first of all, When you park in the designated parking spot that says 1240 you have to proceed downstairs of the sign that you see synergy float spa. That's where you enter. Then once you get inside there is a beautiful waterfall oasis that awaits you. Now I haven't tried any of the other services yet but I did try the infrared spa and I have to say that that is the most comforting way to fall asleep if you're having those issues. Even if you're an active gym member there's no better way than having your own personal I sauna to listen to music and decompress for the week. I definitely recommend anybody come here whether it's for a bridal party, a great deep experience or if your solo just a place for you to chill and reset your battery to start over again.

Synergy Float center is a new addition to Old Towne. I've been to other float spas, but this is the first that impressed me from start to finish. Everything from the owner, staff, the amenities, layout to even the decor was efficient and thoughtful. The process: My husband made a last minute reservation for a float session. Jawad was very helpful and polite. He answered all our questions and explained the different options. I elected for a float and hubby went for the magnetic resonance therapy. First star earned. The location: The center is nested the north part of Old Towne Alexandria. Parking is clearly marked and free. Big plus. The entrance is down a set of stairs, right across from parking spaces. Second star earned. The center: Chris, the owner greeted us. He was warm and inviting. Given this being our first time, we asked for a tour. Chris was thorough in explaining each of the different services and our schedule sessions. The establishment was clean, well organized and relaxing. Third star earned. The experience: I have floated in pods before, this was a first time in a cabin sized one. The room contained a shower with complimentary soap, shampoo and conditioner. Center also provided a towel, robe, a small basket with ear plugs, petroleum jelly, and even a little bottle to help with clogged ears. Inside the floating cabin was a small towel and a water bottle in the case you get water in your eyes. Fourth star earned. The finale: When I finished with the session, I made my way to a little station to quickly blow dry my hair and then to the relaxation room. While watching the waterfall installation, I enjoyed a delicious cup of loose leaf tea, and wrote a little note in the guest book. Quick note, there are little tea bags, small scoops, honey and stevia for the tea. Fifth star earned. Additional notes: Synergy is a veteran owned business and is involved with Pathways for Veterans by providing an environment for veterans to work through their mental and physical wounds.

The water doesn't get changed out after each guest? How is it sanitized?

When it first opened, everything was great: clean, shiny, well functioning showers and pods. My one minor complaint is the water temperature of the pod. Granted, I run a little colder than most being anemic, but the temperature is lukewarm at best. I know it's not meant to be a sauna, but I would really prefer a warmer temperature. You do get used to it, but particularly in the winter months, I want my water heated past indoor pool temperature. 84-88 is the temperature best suited for aquatic therapy and this seems more like it's in the high 70s. Thankfully, my showers have always worked though the last time I was present, a customer was reaming out the employee as her water pressure was super low and the water was ice cold. Personally, I'd have left the room during the pod to be moved to a different room rather than enduring but that's just me. Nevertheless, the employee still handled things with grace and professionalism. My pod experience this last go round was different than that first year. I can tell that the pods have seen a lot of use; it shows. The interior handle used to open and close was missing. This made it more cumbersome to slide my doors close (or open them at the end). The finish is peeling and all in all, it looks like some maintenance is overdue. The lounge area could stand to have an additional oxygen bar since there are only two tanks and matching cords. I've noticed when people come out, they sit in those pods but don't always get the oxygen. Maybe directing these people to the back orientation room would be better and allow the lounge area the ability to provide oxygen to more folks? All in all, it's an okay experience. I do feel a bit more rested coming out but I usually always follow this up with a nice soak in my tub afterward.

I noted in other reviews that it's mandatory to arrive 30 minutes early for first float orientation. This fact wasn't emphasized when I called to make my appointment so I can see why there might be some confusion. Perhaps setting first appointments for 1.5 hours might make this more clear. Upon entering I was greeted by a friendly staff person who requested I put on plastic slippers and leave my shoes begin. This was a nice touch. Later I noted the slippers are soaked in a cleaning solution. I appreciate this as the slippers can then be reused. Next the staff person gave me a quick tour and showed me to the video room. The video was one part advertisement, one part orientation and one part sales pitch to buy a franchise. This last bit seemed a little much given I hadn't tried the float yet but i understand this is business. I returned to the lounge to wait my turn. A previous floater had just come out and the staff asked how things had gone. Apparently the shower didn't function well but the float was good. My turn came up and I was escorted back. I noted there were multiple float pod rooms. I was given a quick orientation to the room. The staff person opened the pod and said "This is where the magic happens!" All I can say here is there must be a generational difference in this phrases meaning. The staff person left and I turned on the shower. Ice cold water streamed out. I fiddled with the tap trying to get some warmth. Eventually managed some lukewarm water after a great amount of time. Then I couldn't shut the tap off!! My float time was beginning as I heard the narrator began her instructions. Finally got the shower down to a trickle and stepped in. The water here was warm clean and comfortable. It took my shower jangled nerves a while to calm down but when I did I had an excellent float experience. The end of the float was signaled by a loud door chime tone. The shower situation was no better. This time it was scalding hot water. Really took me right out of relaxation mode pretty quickly. I left the room for some oxygen bar time. The staff person set me up quickly and asked how the soak was. I noted all the shower issues. She acknowledged them and said she could add a note to my file so I would be in a different room Next time. This part mystified me. Why not give new customers the best experience this time? Additionally she noted that the prior customer had said the same thing about the shower. Apparently we had both been in the same room. There were other rooms so I don't understand why subject customers to a non working shower. Overall the float was great, staff was kind, the place was clean, but I wouldn't return based on the shower issues.

Lights off. No staff. Nothing. Their sign said Sunday "By Appointment Only," yet apparently even when you have an appointment, no one shows up. I called their Bethesda location, and the first receptionist claimed we weren't in the system--even though I booked on Wednesday at 2:22 PM (I checked my call log and took a screenshot). Someone took all of my details including my credit card, but somehow my appointment "didn't exist." Then the owner got on the phone and said she actually could see me in their system but didn't know what happened. She blamed a software switch on Tuesday... but I booked on Wednesday. So that excuse made no sense. Her only solution was to ask if we could come tomorrow. No, we actually can't--because unlike her business, we plan ahead. I took the weekend off from my real estate schedule to celebrate. We booked a hotel in Tysons, hired a dog sitter, and made a whole day of this. And it was completely wasted. What really stunned me was the total lack of care. No apology that felt meaningful. No attempt to make it right. No offer of a complimentary service. Nothing. I'm a business owner myself, and I would never handle a mistake like this this way. Our anniversary plans were basically ruined because this spa didn't bother to honor our confirmed appointment--or provide any real remedy afterward. Don't waste your time or money here. If they can't handle a simple booking, I wouldn't trust them with anything else either.

The bathhouses are located inside each gender-specific locker room, and you must be unclothed to use them. I ordered kimbap and kimchi pancakes, and both were excellent. The kimbap came with a side of miso soup that was sooo delicious! The relaxation area. A couple of things I didn't love: they initially assigned me a very high locker (thankfully my tall cousin switched with me ), and we weren't given an overview of the layout when we arrived. Even though the place is small, a quick explanation would've been helpful. Also, I was disappointed the steam room wasn't working. Overall, this is a great spot with amazing food and relaxing vibes.
