He saw me within an hour of the phone call. Most shops will charge you a "diagnostic" check. If they can't fix it you are stuck with the fee. Jeff said, "I'll look into it. If It's fixable, we'll talk about the cost but if it is not, then you can come back to pick it up at no cost." Wow! Two hours later, Jeff calls me and my computer is ALIVE!

I'm pretty good at doing my own trouble-shooting, but I was in fear that the worst thing had happened, and that my OS got clobbered somehow. Here it is - a Sunday - and I NEED this thing. I was so happy to find that Jeff answered the phone on the second ring. He was able to talk me through a deeper examination and we determined that, indeed, I was looking at file corruption. His suggestion was to try and system restore - something I had never done before (it's easy but not something I would just randomly try on my own). It took almost 2 hours for the restore to complete, all the while I was freaking out because I'm realizing that if it's caught in an endless loop, I am risking that it will never restore and that I'll need an expert to try and get my existing off this thing (my back up hard-drive is in NJ!!!!) I was lucky! The restore worked. And, I have Jeff to thank for getting this back up and working.
