Unfortunately I had a terrible experience using Sylvestre Auto Body. I have a newer Sierra Truck and I hit a deer with only liability insurance, so I needed a new bummer, grill, head light and another small plastic front piece. I went in for a bid and was told 3200 for all new parts, which I thought was a little hight, but was told they could use after market parts to reduce the price possible all the way down to 1800 or so, and they gave me a printed bid for all the all new parts price. Next day I called and they said they could do it for 2450 with a couple of after market parts, I thought OK, that works, but I need my truck back quick as I don't have a second vehicle, and need it to get to work, they said it would be ready on Tuesday afternoon taking less than 2 days, Great I thought
Tuesday come and I am told they have the wrong part and it would take another day, I was irritated, but understand things happen, and thought fine. Wednesday comes and I'm told again we got the wrong part, and we can not get it back to you today, its going to be Thursday, which again upset me, They gave me a number of a guy to call if I didn't believe them, which I thought was odd as I'm sure its a friend or close business partner of there's, so not likely to get an honest answer, but what could I do at this point I would have to wait another day. Thursday coming and I get another message, sorry we had to drive to Portland to get an extra part, your truck is ready but its going to cost another 300, we are cutting you a deal as it should have been more.
That was the straw that broke the camels back for me, I was really upset and message the lady back, being, I admit a little rude, and sarcastic, but in no way violent, telling her I was so sorry to inconvenience them, and asking her if she was sure she only needed 300 more, and how sorry I was that my truck was stranded at their shop for a whole week, and said seriously I thought after all this you might give me a small discount or at least a sorry for taking over twice as long to fix my truck as you told me, and now you have the nerve to actually charge me 300 more when they never even asked me if I wanted to spend the extra money, really, I told them I would write a negative review here on google and Yelp, which of course I am doing now.
I regretted texting them the message after I sent it, because it made picking up my truck really awkward to say the least, but oh well tired of contractors always trying to screw me over. I walked in to pay the lady, and there were three guys in the room, I'm a smaller guy late 40's and far from an intimidating or violent looking dude, I could understand one guy being there, because I could tell the poor front lady was uncomfortable, but three, really... they were clearly there to intimidate me, I honestly thought if they waved the charges or even reduced them in half, I would have let the whole cluster go, but to have them set in there trying to intimidate me, acting like I had no right to be upset with them irritated me all the more. I was quiet, and polite, but I swear you could cut the air with a knife, I just wanted my truck back, what a great time and experience its been.
That was my honest experience with them, I don't normally leave reviews, especially bad ones, as I am busy, and have things to do, but in this case I thought yea going to write a review on the experience I had with them. If you do decide to give them your business, I would highly, highly recommend getting the bid in writing, before they starts so they can't raise the price on you later without your consent and then hold you hostage for the payment because they have your vehicle
To be fair, they did a good job restoring the truck and also washed and cleaned the out the inside. read more
