I'm very disappointed in my last order and the way I was treated when I expressed that. They provided desserts for many occasions of mind and this last one was poorly executed and not up to their standards. I sent multiple inspiration photos for my daughters trolls birthday party that reflected the color scheme of the party. What I received was nowhere near what I showed him. It was neon colors that was far from the theme and not once shown in any of the pictures sent. The attention to detail was slacking. The rainbow on the bottom of the cake (not even true rainbow colors like asked) wasn't shaped correctly. Instead of a true arch it was sloppy and not worth what I paid. The treats were delicious as always I just was very unhappy with him not providing what was asked. Regardless of all of this what was the most upsetting is when we told him how I felt he didn't even apologize!!! He said and I quote "it's unfortunate she's unhappy. Though if that's her reaction after all that I gave her I don't know what to say ‍" that is probably the most unprofessional response I have ever received and for that reason and that reason alone I will never be using them again. 220$ for this confetti cake. Tasted good but... I felt like the cake could have been better when stacking. Like you could see the platform that separated the two tiers. I also asked for the two ninja turtles to be sitting on the same side sitting together, but I got them sitting in different sides. Just felt overall it was not 100pct exactly what I wanted, but overall it was cute and the cake was indeed tasty. Very moist. She did well on that. Also, I'm pretty sure I was a pain to deal with so the service was pretty good. Not once was she impatient with me which I appreciated because i was juggling a few vendors while hosting this party. I would give them a 3.75 but would round up because of her patience with me. I told them I wanted a cake in the shape of a Michael Kors bag and what I received exceeded all of my expectations!!! I couldn't believe how perfect the cake looked, but the taste was even better!! They were extremely unprofessional. Made me discuss the cake with them via text and then just wanted $ before even asking what type of cake or filling I wanted. I sent a picture of the exact cake I wanted and described the writing on it. Charged $200 for a cake that didn't have the proper writing, flowers, and was way too small. I ordered a cake from here as a test cake because i'm interested in getting a cake for a big birthday party in November and wanted to give them a try to see if it was worth it. I got the cake for my dad's surprise birthday party and they were able to accommodate my order a week before the party, which was great. Because they're only open three days a week, I was able to e-mail back and forth with the owner easily and place my cake order, I was even able to pay online! Which made it super convenient. As for the cake, I paid a very reasonable price for my cake, which was an excellent start. Now the cake itself was absolutely DELICIOUS. This is coming from someone who is hard to please, as i'm very particular about how things are made. The cake I ordered was a butter cream frosted tres leches cake with custard filling and fresh fruit. The cake was a huge hit for everyone in my family, which again is rare, even my dad who is also picky about desserts and cakes absolutely loved it. I stumbled upon this place on fb and decided to give it a try. Its location is in a mini shopping plaza and you can pass by it without noticing it. I arrived and was greeted by one of the owners Jermaine, he explained to me all the different cupcakes, custom cakes they have to offer. They do not offer ready made cakes, every cake has to be order, the turn around time depending on the cake can be 1-2 weeks. They do accept major credit cards but its a $10 min. Was attempting to plan a small milestone birthday party that eventually ballooned into a larger celebration. Didn't want to deal with cake-cutting and opted for cupcakes instead. Originally considered a bakery in Brooklyn but chose to look locally for the purpose of convenience. Then I found Sydney's Sweets - BINGO! It was a Friday afternoon when I stopped by and I explained to Jermaine that the cupcakes were a last minute decision and that I would need them for the next day. He obliged. I ordered 3 dozen red velvet cupcakes and an individual cupcake for myself so I could taste the goods. All I can say is that I'm glad I was picking up the remaining cupcakes the following day or I may have eaten a few of the stash for the party. My worries about having cupcakes leftover after my party went away when my guests cleaned them out. I even went back a week later to purchase an assorted dozen - 6 for my coworkers and 6 for myself. BUYER BEWARE!!!!! So, I decided to try this place out because my wife wanted to have cupcakes for her birthday and though there weren't many reviews on Yelp, the ones that were there were mostly positive. I went inside and was a little disappointed because there were slim pickings in the store showcase. There are about 8 or 10 different varieties of cupcakes, but most slots were empty. I decided to give them a try anyway. Boy, was I in for a shock! I picked out my cupcakes, and told the guy behind the counter that I also had a coupon to redeem for a free cupcake. He gave me my half dozen cupcakes and I told him which one I wanted to use for my complimentary one. He knew it was from Yelp and asked to see my phone to validate the free one. He then rang up my order. I was a little confused as to the total and asked him for a receipt. I did the math in my head and the total seemed a little off. I knew the prices, 2.50 for regular and 3.00 for specialty cupcakes, but was in a hurry and I had my kids with me, so I figured that the receipt would clear it up. Unfortunately, he stated that he was unable to furnish one at the time but would promptly email it to me. I got home an hour later and checked my email. Guess what??? No email, no receipt. I called the store, he apologized and said that he would send it shortly. He wasn't able to access the account from his IPad, which is what he apparently uses to manage transactions. He said that he would call me back after he finished with a customer. TWO HOURS LATER he called and I ask questions about the total. He stated that he didn't realize that he charged me for the complimentary cupcake, but would refund my money and redo the transaction over the phone. He then charged me for the cupcakes, tax, and "FEES" that he THOUGHT he'd mentioned when I was in the store. I corrected him, informing him that not only did he fail to mention that there were fee's associated with credit card purchases, but that there is not a sign in sight in his store to indicate that such a fee exists. I told him that I was not paying a fee that I was unaware of. He took my credit card information again, submitted a refund for the original purchase and charged my card for the corrected price of the cupcakes, tax and "FEES"!!!!!!!!!!!! When I realized what he had done, he said that he thought I was okay with it and offered to give me a few COMPLIMENTARY cupcakes. He can keep his cupcakes. The cupcakes that "taste better than they look", did not live up to the hype. It's not the amount of money that is important, it's the principle of the matter. read more
