this is a great bakery , with delicious pastries BUT I ordered a football SHAPED cake for a super ball party and I was under the impression after repeating myself , having a clear conversation with the person who took my order and she even agreed and repeated football shaped ... to my surprise I received a rectangular cake with a football drawn on it..... so make sure if you're ordering a cake this doesn't happen to you.

Cannoli, Large, Cannoli minis, variety of danish & a croissant.

Got to try a wonderful assortment of baked goods from Sapienza Pastry. Everything in the showcases looked wonderful. The croissants are HUGE, as are the danish. My husband devoured the croissant after making a sandwich on it. I made sure to get a taste. It was soft & flaky. The cannoli...the best I've had yet! The outside shell had a nice fresh crunch to it. Very light. The filling creamy & not too sweet. My family who staked their claim on the danish all loved them. The bakery is on a main road with parking spots on property right in front. There were 2 young ladies working when I picked up my goodies this evening. One immediately came over to assist and was very nice. I will certainly return to try more.

I stopped by here for the first time today. Cute looking building and the parking lot in front was nice. My son and I were pretty excited to enter the bakery. However unfortunately the customer service was not that great. No greeting or no smiles. One girl who took care of my order had to ask me what I was saying because she had earbuds in her ears. All items I bought tasted great. Really really good. I would give five stars for that but this place needs better customer service.

Unfortunately, I found this wonderful bakery on the way to a funeral in Elmont New York. My friends and I stopped to pick up pastries to bring to the bereaved after funeral. This bakery specializes in custom cakes, biscotti, cookies, cheesecakes and much more. We walked in and admired the display case of pastries: elephant ears, sfingi, tri-colored cookies and other delectables. The server was on the phone placing a phone order, thus our wait time was a few minutes. This is, surprisingly, a Kosher bakery except for the desserts that contain strawberries. Everything looked scrumptious especially the Creme filled cannolis: the Creme looked as if it was just freshly prepared. We also ordered coffees to go. The coffee was delicious and piping hot. They should think about offering specialty coffees like cappuccino. I've reviewed the reviews that were posted on Yelp. Could the service improve.. yes.. there was only one server to assist us. There were 2 customers who entered as we were paying that were placing sizable orders. But, we are still dealing with a pandemic, so I can only imagine it is hard for the owner or any owner to gauge demand and how to hire in these still difficult times. I can only imagine at this location, reassessing, payroll needs. Thus, I would love to give Sapienza a 5 star but the service needs to be relooked at. The 4* are for the quality and delicious pastries.

St. Joseph's Pastry, rainbow cake, cream puff, mini cannolis

Over the years I've always passed this shop taking the bus in route to my college in Manhattan from home. My aunt always brought classic Italian cookies and their chocolate crème pie over for the holidays. I stopped here the other week with my husband since he was interested seeing the shop in person. It's located on the main road of Hempstead Turnpike which is super busy. There is limited parking in front of the shop, but it is easier to park within the neighborhood on the local roads since it can be difficult to pull out of the lot. The bakery is small, so covid restrictions limit them to having two parties at a time in the bakery. The girls are very helpful and package all the desserts in an efficient manner. I felt sorry for them for some rude customers that were yelling at the girls because they didn't give themselves enough time in case there was a line to wait on. No fault to the employees at all. Shame on those customers for their poor timing. This visit we got a quarter pound of assorted cookies and some small pastries (cream puff, cannolis, st. Joseph's pastry and rainbow cake). Their rainbow cake was light and airy. The st. Joseph's pastry and cannolis were also very good with a pretty decent cannoli creme. The cookies are always an easy go to for a small bite. Although they are not the best Italian bakery I have been to, they are definitely worth checking out.

This was the first time I've had a cake made by your bakery .. Not only was my 50th birthday cake absolutely beautiful, the cannoli cream inside was so delicious. The sponge was so moist and the fondant had a great marshmallow taste!!! thank you so much .. it was AM

My cannoli cravings brought me here! Parking is limited and backs up to the busy Hempstead Turnpike. Good thing we went when it wasn't a busy time which allowed us to maneuver the car and avoid the hassle. I enjoyed my cannoli and the cream puffs that I got! It's not the best I've had, but it's high up there in my book because the filling is on point. However, my husband did not feel the same joy with his carrot cake. It was dry. He didn't finish it and threw half of it away. Such a shame, I thought.

This review is for the Hempstead Tpke address. Don't go to Meacham Ave. I Mecham is the bakery that makes only BREAD. This review is for Sapienza Pastry. Apologies Pinoli cookies, canolis, pies, caked, blondies and brownies. You want it, Sapieza's got it! Located in eastern Elmont on Hempstead Tpk, this long time family owned establishment excels in Quality with a capital Q. The kids working there attend to customers with a greeting and a smile. I used to go here so frequently but never really appreciated how delicious everything is here. I bought a lattice apple pie yesterday, and all 15 guests (including those who don't usually like apple) wanted more. Convenient parking right in front, moderately priced, one can't go wrong here.

I liked a cake that my friend had for her son and that is how I learned about this place. Well, I was so disappointed! I provided the logo and the school logo does not have the color pink. Well, my cake did and the writing on the cake was crooked as well. I called and they asked me to text a picture of the cake as she needed to speak to the owner. When she called me back her response was that the owner said he printed it twice, this was the best he could do and that he would only refund me $15 for the editable image. That response was completely unacceptable. If there was an issue, they should have called me and explain the situation. I also found it very upsetting that the owner knew it was not right and was just going to leave it at that. Very unprofessional. I will add, I did not take the refund. I was told I would have to drive back which I was not going to do and then the girl offered to take my credit card into. That was definitely out of the question.

Nice bakery. The young ladies who work on Sunday afternoon are very sweet. Prices are pretty good. Chocolate mousse is tasty. Lobster tails could be crispier. They have a good selection of cookies and pastries.

For those who are not aware: Layers is a Pakistani bakeshop chain that is absolutely delicious!…read more The Elmont location is quite small, and more of a grab and go situation, but the variety of flavors is truly unique. Choose items like Cadbury chocolate brownies, Biscoff or Raffelo cupcakes, or even sundae cups! Seeing as though there were only 2 left, I ordered a Belgian Chocolate Malt cupcake for about tree fiddy (no joke) and was on my way. The cupcake was superb. The base is a nice, moist chocolate cake. But the frosting is where it truly shines. It was so rich and malty, it was like eating a soft Malteser. What's even better is that the size is not obscene, so you're felt feeling satisfied but not overwhelmed. Service was polite. And if you're not in the Elmont area, no worries as there are now a few locations on the island. Would gladly recommend them for your bakeshop needs!

I used to visit Amato years ago and got custom cakes from them...and they were well made and tasted…read moregood. However, I stopped going because I ordered cakes and they were just done very sloppily and weren't worth the money I was being charged. Last week, I decided I'd give them another chance because I want to support local businesses and it was the biggest mistake of my life. I don't ever want to review a business to harm them but I really think they need to take some feedback and implement that into their business. I ordered a gender reveal cake, something small and simple and specifically told them to make sure the writing on the cake was done neatly as I remember one of the previous cakes I had gotten the writing was not neat. The person taking my order asked me if I'd like whip outside or buttercream and I asked what they recommended because I'd only done buttercream before and they said if you're doing whip inside then it's fine to do whip outside. I said ok. Placed my order and went in to pick it up. As soon as I saw the cake I was horrified. The writing was so sloppy and so was the cake. It was as if I made the cake myself. I asked them to fix the writing on top at least. They said ok the baker will fix it. She brings it outside and said it's whip so I can't do much but buttercream would be better (it was worse than when she had taken it inside) I said ok you can do it in buttercream no problem. Brings it back outside and it's still sloppier than ever. I said this is not neat at all, and she said well it's what I can do it looks just like the picture. I said no it does not ( I will attach the picture for reference) and the baker goes "well what can I do this is how I write?" In that moment I just knew they were not willing to help at all. I had already paid in full for the cake so I took it and left. Come home to see that this is supposed to be a gender reveal cake and you can LITERALLY see the icing inside the cake from outside. It doesn't matter if you pay $40 for a cake or $100+ you should be getting what you requested. This was a simple cake that they completely ruined. When I texted her the picture I emphasized that I'd like the writing to be as neat as possible, and I was reassured it would be. Also, if you as the professional know whip won't work as well, why not call the customer and discuss with them prior to ruining the product you are providing. The excuses did not make sense. I will not be returning. And I hope they can take this feedback and improve their cake decorating process. The cake went to waste and we had to improvise last minute.
