Amazing pizza and gnocchi dishes. Beautiful renovation was done on the interior. The pizza tastes like we were transported to Napoli. We had Potato and kale pizza which was worth trying again . read more

The atmosphere is very attractive post and beam farmhouse in an antique building in bustling downtown Kent, CT. Our server recommended the gnocchi which was delicious and we ordered a salad which was a bit too vinegary. We came on the Friday before Christmas and it wasn't too full but there were about ten people at the bar which was full and people were enjoying food, as well. Entrees were both delicious, cheeseburger was everything a cheeseburger should be and the wild salmon was perfection, moist and rare. Looking forward to many memorable meals here! read more

I love this place. We shared a pizza, French fries and salad with a glass of Sancerre. Heaven!! Service was excellent. read more

The Cacio e Pepe is a no for me. I hv had this dish many other places but this is the first time I ordered it here and was extremely disappointed. The pasta was cooked nicely and al dente.....but there was very little cheese and zero pepper added to this simple dish. I'm unsure if they forgot to add it or just use a low grade pepper because only freshly cracked pepper is best in this recipe. I ended up with an overpriced bland bowl of spaghetti. Also it was served lukewarm which is a real NO for any pasta dish. This brings up another issue I have with this eatery. I went for brunch recently and had the French toast.... It arrives with 3 little deflated pieces of toast without accouterments such as a colorful tasty garnish of jam, strawberries, orange slices, nothing! It was a sad presentation. I think we'll stick to Kingsley's Tavern a few doors down for our brunch visits. read more

The food was ok. But the service was lackluster, they brought us each out mains separately and slowly over the course of 15 mins so those who got their food first had cold food by the time everyone was served. Additionally, my chicken entree was just chicken, no sides or anything and the server never mentioned that at the beginning. read more

Fanfreakingtastic. One of the best meals we've had in CT. Homemade pizza dough is out of this world good and service is very genial. Great tap list and cozy, warm wood interior. Nothing else like this around. Highly recommend a visit and returning soon. read more

The decor was lovely. But that is about the only thing. Dined at happy hour, with a very limited menu. We had multiple "servers" and our drink order was not taken for almost 15 minutes after being seated. We only ordered a small pizza and a burger. It took over 30 minutes for our food to arrive. Food was subpar at best. Upon receiving our check, we were dumbfounded with the total. A small pizza, burger and TWO glasses of wine - $83.00. When we questioned the total, they took the check back and removed SIX dollars. When ordering a glass of wine, the "house" option should be given. $23 for a glass of wine at HAPPY HOUR is outrageous. Bottom line - this place is overpriced and overhyped. I will never be dining here again nor would I ever recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

Everyone has been to great bars and fine restaurants before at one time or another that sticks out in your mind as just an amazing experience and this is one of those places!! Everyone there was friendly and professional where they go out of their way to make you have a great experience! I loved the food, we sat at the bar with friends couldn't believe the amazing tiger pizza, but the highlight of our night was honestly just relaxing and talking to our incredible bartender named Robin. I have never seen a more accommodating guy in my life. I asked him to suggest drinks to us all and he hit home runs with each of our individual requests by carefully crafting drinks that we savored not just drank, but thoroughly enjoyed. He then introduced us to a couple from Germany who were visiting the U.S. He went above and beyond to make sure we all enjoyed the experience! I cant wait to go back and see him again. read more

What a beautiful place to enjoy the most delicious meal we have had in a long time and well worth the drive. Our server, Savannah and hostess, Dale made our dining experience so wonderful and they have such a positive demeanor that made it so nice to talk with them. We shared a pizza and couldn't decide so again we shared the Swyft Burger and Cubano and we definitely made the right decision on all three. Our meal continued with two 10 Star desserts, Apple Cake and Manjari Chocolate Pots de Creme along with delicious fresh brewed coffee! 10 Star Restaurant, Meal, and Service. Thank You Chef Joel for making us a delightful and memorable lunch and my Special Candle Surprise! read more

ive ordered pizzas here forever, brunched. First time dining in for dinner..easily top 5 meals of my life. We ordered drinks (manhattan, and a nice cab) roso pizza, the gnocchi and the duck with the olive oil cake for desert. All out of this world. great date night spot. read more

Super friendly wait staff, and the pizza... oh my gosh. Chewy, perfect amount of sauce, wonderfully fresh mozzarella with just a hint of spice. We ordered the Pink Tiger pizza and cubano sandwich and shared both, and everything was amazing. Nice rural setting clearly operated by people who care. Couldn't ask for more - a perfect Saturday afternoon lunch date. read more

Absolutely fantastic French Toast! Such an amazing (almost hidden) gem! Fantastic pizzas as well. Great service - recommend making a reservation especially in the winter if you want to be seated indoors! read more

Slower than a sleeping snail. The burger was ok but overpriced. But it took 1 hour and 45 minutes to make the burgers. And the waitress forgot my coffee. I had to remind her. Apparently some mistake was made with the order. I timed the order and I am not exaggerating about 1 hour and 45 minutes. read more

My first visit to Swyft today for lunch and I have found my new favorite restaurant. The food was epic, loved the ambiance and the staff was delightful! Make sure you have dessert. The panna cotta is to die for. read more

Watch out if you get a refill of coffee; it is $4 a cup and $4 a refill. And a smallish cup. I won't be getting the coffee again. Burger was good, but not amazing for $17. Salad delicious and fresh but small portion for $14. A salad will not fill you up here as a meal. So I am happy it is here in Kent, but they need to offer more than high prices and slightly above average food. read more

Menu is super limited, so not a good choice for people with food sensitivities, ie dairy or gluten. Basically an upscale pizza joint. Server was pretty unfriendly and street noise featured a non-stop parade of motorcycles! read more

So made a reservation 2 weeks ago and called to confirm an hour before and was told no reservation under my name! Explained it was my husbands birthday and manager states " sorry" with no resolution . Except to come at 9:30 at night?! Heard this before, about this place... read more

Amazing food, amazing drinks in an amazing atmosphere! The presentation is always amazing, especially the salads! They have artists working here and it shows and tastes amazing! read more

Sat at the bar with my friends tonight and thoroughly enjoyed our time - The drinks were well crafted and the roasted chicken was beyond amazing - Would go back specifically for that dish and plan to see what brunch is like - Dinner was divine read more

This chic and stylish restaurant was long overdue in Kent! The interior and exterior renovations were exquisitely executed. The food is fresh and flavorful. The wood fire pizzas are excellent and not too heavy. The fire they have burning in the fireplace on chilly nights is cozy and welcoming. Oh, and have I mentioned the flourless chocolate cake is divine? read more

stay away from swyft if you don't want to be disrespected! the owner is sooo creepy and obvious disrespectful to kids and women. the food is good but not worth the inappropriate comments or the price. just like don't go. read more

If you like chewy undercooked dough, over-salted canned red sauce, a few randomly placed mozzarella slices and barely any basil, Swyft's 10" $14 Margarita pizza is for you. If you like a very small portion of uncut greens and no other veggies, try Swyft's $14 farm fresh salad. We made a reservation and arrived to a 90% empty restaurant at 6:15 on a Wed. night. We were shown to a table for 2 but on the way, spotted a similar table for 2 in a better location. We requested our preferred location but were told the table was reserved. We left 45 mins. later and not a single customer had walked through the door - so much for the reserved table. So $50 later, we left terribly disappointed and we will never go back. If you're considering Swyft, suggest you go elsewhere! read more

We came here for lunch and really enjoyed it. The service was great, they were very friendly, and the ambiance was pleasing. Lots of wood all around the place. Great local beer selection. The pizzas were good, however I would have preferred it cooked a little longer. The BLT looked amazing, and their salads are very gourmet and fresh (although small). We'll likely be back when passing through town next! read more

Where do I start. Menu very hard to understand and you need glasses to read it. The prices are a dot..Was offered sparkling water which I accepted not knowing that was $7.00. Plain small pizza $15 . Asked for their gluten free options and was told I could eat a burger without the bun. I had no idea I could do that...really? Stuck ordering chicken which was 1/2 chicken with no sides just the 1/2 chicken laying on a plate. Ordered a salad which was plain lettuce with olive oil. Nothing else...my chicken was $29.00 and salad was $7.00. Total bill $63.00..I got robbed!!! read more

Had dinner with 5 friends on a Friday evening. The service was almost non existent, food was way over priced and very bland. Drinks were scalper priced. Not much to say good about it, other than avoid!! Too many other very good option in Kent to have to put up with this place. read more

This is a new restaurant so i guess they haven't gotten the prices right for the food served. The prices seemed quite high for the plates. The food was good but even paris isn't as expensive as this restaurant! The service was very rushed as soon as we, group of 6, got there but after being served the wait staff was unconcerned with us. The bill had 20% added into it, probably because we were 6 people. The credit card receipts had the hutzpah(sp.) to suggest an additional tip percentage! Food good, service and prices bad. We will never go back. read more

I don't write reviews often but this was undoubtedly the worst service I've ever experienced. For a party of six we ordered two pizzas and two salads as an appetizer and an entree per person. After one hour and 30 minutes our pizzas came out- absurd. After another 30 minutes our entrees had still not come out. We asked where our food was and they could not even give us an estimate of when it would be ready. At the two hour mark we walked out without having eaten dinner. When we voiced our frustration all we got was bad attitude back. The last thing this place should be called is Swyft! Not quite sure how this place could survive with such horrific service. read more

We spent almost $500 on a meal (group of friends) and we were treated in a way where we didn't feel welcome. Impatient and cold staff, and a very rushed meal. read more

The Restaurant is over priced for bare minimum food. A group of 12 of us went and no one was enthusiastic about their food beside the burger and fried chicken. I had the Pasta dish that tasted like butter and cheese with a splash of pepper. I shared the smoked chicken a small portion and nothing else . We were charged 3.00 for 2 slices of bread. The undercharged our large bill and came back and asked for 4.00 more dollars after leaving a 20%tip. Sorry to say we would not go back there . read more

Given the talented chef, the quality of the food and the noise softening interior, it disappoints me significantly to say I will not return to Swyft. We were six at a long table with benches. The menu was a bit limited, but interesting. We all ordered. There was discussion of one appetizer, which was clarified with the waiter. Four of the six appetizers were brought after about 20 minutes. The other two appetizers, both beet salads, did not appear. We asked and were told they'd be coming. We asked again when the first four were close to having been consumed. They were still coming. They arrived when the first four plates were cleared. Then we waited, and waited for the main courses. We had arrived at 7:00, our order was in by 7:20, it was now 8:25. We asked if there was a problem when we finally stopped a different waiter. By 8:40 our meals began to arrive. The staff had to be reminded that a side dish had been ordered. By this time, we were all pretty uncomfortable sitting so long on backless benches. The final insult was that there was an automatic 20% tip applied to the bill. Automatic tips require exemplary service, which was no where in evidence. The restaurant was not crowded. Throughout the evening the pizza take-out service was very busy. People also came in after us, ordered pizza, ate in the restaurant, paid and left before our meals were served. If you are looking only for pizza, Swyft maybe your kind of place. Too bad for the rest of us. read more

I have to say that the atmospher is good and that our waiter was nice. Unfortunately, we had to wait 45 minutes for our food, even with the restaurant half empty! I ordered a medium cooked burger and received an undercooked burger that was dripping blood (they took so long that you'd expect the burger to be OVERcooked, if anything!). Had to return it and waited another 10 minutes for it. The side of fries was completely uneventful. Same type of fries you'd get at McDonald's. They charge you $2 for adding an sunny-side-up egg to the burger - most expensive egg ever! I would not go back to this place. read more

Had lunch at Swift with my family and I loved it. We had the wood fired pizza diablo pizza and it was delicious. I loved my burger very much. It was so juicy and the fries were piping hot. I had a few bites of my wife's Korean Chicken Sandwich and it was outstanding as well. My son had the BLT and he finished the whole thing so I didn't have a chance to taste it but he said it was delicious. To finish we had the blood orange sorbet and the flourless chocolate cake and we gobbled the up fast!!! Great Service Too!! If you are visiting Kent Schools I highly recommend. read more

My wife and I have been there twice now. We LOVE this place. Both times we popped in without reservations and sat at the bar. The mixed drinks were fabulous and so was the spirited service. We shared lots of laughs with the bartender and others. The clam pizza rocked and so did the yellowfin veggie appetizer dish. We can't wait to sit down for full dinner. read more

Worst restaurant I have EVER been to! My food was subpar and the tables were sticky. The manager, Joel, was horrendous. His comments made me so uncomfortable, and I saw him touching a young server innaproriately. He should be fired. he is a disgusting excuse for a man. NEVER GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR BUSINESS!!! BOYCOTT!! read more

Not too Swyft! Incredibly poor and nasty service on a couple of visits. The bar and wait staff are easily overwhelmed and clearly not encouraged to jump in and help (several who told us what their job was NOT or what they couldn't do). On the last visit, we waited 30 minutes after ordering cocktails for them to be delivered. Food arrived 45 minutes later, but without glasses of wine we ordered with the food. When we asked again for these we were given a lecture about the purpose of the restaurant and how the important people were the friends and colleagues of the owner. I guess they think their food puts them above mundane concerns like customer service. read more

Best new restaurant in Kent in years. The food is delicious and the ambiance is warm, country chic! The bartender knows his stuff. Pizza that reminds you of Italy. Great range of small plates and entrees. read more

We are new to the area, head heard about Swyft, so we headed over this past weekend to check it out. For a few reasons, I'm not sure we'd return. First of all, the tables are so close together I could hear the person next to me chewing. Secondly, the food was fine but nothing to rave about. We started with a pizza, which was pretty good really. Nice chewy dough and melted, thinly sliced tomatoes in lieu of a heavy sauce. Then I had the buttermilk fried chicken sammy and that was quite dry -- you know, to the point of sticking in your throat. I couldn't eat all the bread. It's way too tall to pick up and eat so you have to use a knife and fork. The pilsner I had tasted good and had a little different spin on the flavor from a normal pilsner, so I appreciated that. I think the last thing that kind of pushed us over the edge was the family with the non-stop screaming baby that was seated right in the middle of the restaurant. The noise was so great we literally couldn't hear each other across a 2 1/2' table. Our waitress never smiled or seemed like she wanted to be there....it all added up to "let's go somewhere else next time." read more

Like others, I thought the interior was handsome. But the servers were stand offish and the food was decidedly meh -- but very expensive. When I read they've got a new chef and a new menu, I'll try again but not before. read more
