The Swizzler is great! The inside reminds me of an upscale diner. Not a lot of seating inside, however they also offer outdoor seating. The cashiers were kind. The menu is pretty self explanatory, chicken sandwiches, smash burgers, fries, and milkshakes. When I went, I tried the spicy chicken sandwich meal with lemonade and a sweet tea. The sweet tea and the lemonade were both refreshing. Sweet, but not too sweet. The fries were crispy and soft, perfectly salted. The spicy chicken sandwich was great! Swizzler is relatively new burger and fries shop located in Navy Yard. It's steps away from the baseball stadium located where all the hotels and other restaurants are on 1st Street. The sign and logo stands out, but inside it's as plane as Jane. Reminded me of a throwback burger stand from the 80s. Not sure if that's what they were going for or not? There are 6 -7 booths for eating inside, but it's also closed off due to Covid. So you can grab your food and go or place an order via their app and pick up. My friend kept raving about the burgers so we had to go. The menu is simple.....Burgers....Fries.....Drinks. I ordered the Beet Burger and made it a meal with Fries and Fresh Squeezed Lemonade. The Beet Burger was definitely worth it. It was unique flavor; not too sweet and not over powered by Beet. Tasted freshly made and paired well with the other ingredients. Best of all it stayed together and was easy to eat. The fries were thick cut. There was also an option to order seasoned or sweet potato fries. It came with their own swizzle sauce which can only be tasted and not described. The lemonade was a let down. It tasted and looked like any store bought lemonade I've had before. You have to pay extra if you want this part fo the meal. So it was not worth it. All in all, I think it's a little overpriced for what you get, but then again it's DC. But it's worth a try especially if your craving burger and fries. This place will give you a unique offering that tastes fresh, probably healthy than fast food and will fulfill that comfort food craving. read more

Swizzler is so good! I remember when they were just a small food truck serving hot dogs at Capitol South. Some of my happiest memories of working on the Hill and seeing this truck pop by -- that was before they even made burgers! I can confirm that their burgers are quite tasty and their fries are really good. Not sure what type of oil they took them in, but I think it's what makes them so much better! I wish they served their specialty hot dogs at the brick and mortar location but I think they've only done that a few times. read more

Sadly, I'm just not a fan. And believe me, I tried. I LOVE smash burgers. But these are just mediocre. The burgers are FAR too salty. And while they are allegedly cooked at medium temp, the ones I've tasted have been overcooked to the point of being dry. Swizzler was a fantastic treat when I was looking for a quick bite, specifically a good hotdog, in Navy Yard. I ordered the Burnie Mac, a 100% grass-fed dog topped with homemade mac & cheese, toasted bread crumbs, and sweet + spicy zzq sauce. It was delicious! They had a few booths for seating inside and of course you could carry your dogs to eat in a grassy area nearby if you wanted to. Better than Five Guys. Better than In-N-Out. I just got back from LA, and I didn't think the crown for America's best fast food burger was in doubt (Team In-N-Out here). Then Swizzler blew my mind. The bacon jalapeno cheeseburger is a smart, classy revelation of consistently perfectly prepared delicious double beef patties (grass fed, who does that!?), melty American cheese (good riddance, Five Guys' barely melted afterthought), actual good bacon (again shame on you Five Guys!) and an assortment of sophisticated little touches like candied jalapeno, arugula and sliced AND diced pickles. This burger fits the classic mold but has serious personality - the incisive flavors and golden mouthfeel are like no other fast casual burger. I pity anyone who hasn't tried one yet. P.S. the shakes are golden too! Don't get the Washingtonian burger though, too fussy without delivering the knockout punch. read more
