The owner's hands are absurdly, almost unfairly soft. Not "I moisturize sometimes" soft. Museum-quality soft. Cloud that paid its taxes soft. You sit down, the cape settles, and those hands arrive like a diplomatic envoy from a gentler civilization. They find the grain of your hair the way a pianist finds middle C. No tugging. No scraping. I explained to Derrick what I wanted he made a few suggestions and I emerged a brand new man (tip of the cowboy hat to Brooks & Dunn). I also had my scraggly beard trimmed and shaped using a straight razor. What a difference. I believe there are three additional barbers working with Derrick that have all been at this location for quite a while. Then I decided to take matters in my own hands by looking for his new haircut place and found good reviews about M&B. AMBIANCE/LOCATION: This place didn't disappoint. They have individual cubicles for each hairdresser with their names in front. The hair washing stations are built-in right in front of the mirror so you don't have to move out of the chair like a lady salon. The place is nice and super clean which is a plus. They have an electronic sign-up system when you walk in. TIP: you make an appointment via their website where you can choose your hairdresser, and services which would give you a price or estimated price (the amount is not including tip). SERVICE: Staff are friendly with great communication (some of them are bilingual) and engage in conversation with their clients. As soon as you walk in, you can sign yourself or one of the staff would greet you right away and let you know if you have to wait or they will be right with you. My husband's hairdresser is Suk. She is super friendly, sweet, and understands what you need and she also understands how to work with your hair type. After his haircut at this place, I haven't complained as it's much easier for me to style my husband's hair! It's a win-win or help-me-help you situation. PRICE: this is NOT a $19.99 haircut place for sure, but you get what you pay and in my opinion it's reasonable for the overall services you get. The salon itself is a little older, tucked away behind the buildings off the main road, almost into a residential area. I went at 2pm on a Tuesday so parking in their very limited parking lot wasn't an issue at all. They offer some of the products used in the salon, some jewelry, and free lemon water for guests. The salon is clean and bright, with lots of mirrors but does seem a little dated. Not in a bad way, more like it suits the small town charm and down home vibe of Georgetown. As far as I could tell they offer hair services only, but do have a barber on staff. For my long hair I paid $50 for a shampoo cut and style ( blow dried with a round brush and flat ironed.)

My GPS said I was running 12 minutes past my appointment time so I decided to call Gambuzza's to let them know of my delay. I was greeted on the phone by Haily who quickly informed me that if it's over 10 minutes, my appointment would be cancelled. Being 25 miles into the drive, I told her that I would do my best to be there by 2:10pm. This upset me as I just drove 25 miles and called to notify of the delay. I wanted to cancel right then but really needed my haircut. I did my best and arrived in the parking lot at 2:12pm and immediately got a call from Hailey that my appointment was cancelled. This upset me as I told her I was in the parking lot. She couldn't care less. For me, being a returning customer who has waited long after my appointment time, on the barbers to be available, this was very disappointing. Hailey lacked courtesy and proper customer service. Was there no way to accommodate me? So I got to drive another 35 miles home. I drove 70 miles and didn't get a haircut and was shown no grace. I let Haily know that I wouldn't be back to visit her location. So I am writing you to let you know that I will never visit any Gambuzza's locations ever again. That she caused you to lose a returning customer. And that your policy should have some sort of grace period.
