Feeling a bit burned out on the unreliable quality of the typical children's salons, we decided to give Capps a try. My husband went first and met Wisam, who he was thoroughly impressed with. Wisam is friendly and very talented at what he does. Since then, we have taken both of our boys (4 y/o and 18m) to Wisam. He is patient with the kids and works with their comfort level while still doing an outstanding job. He has gone out of his way to make sure our youngest isn't scared of his tools, and will give our 4 y/o son his phone to watch during appointments. No Harold, you were rude. You know these places cancel appointments for even being 5-10 minutes late. We are at the appointment 10 minutes early and still waited 30 minutes past the appointment time. During the appointment no one is speaking at all. At the conclusion of the appointment he did not provide my son a lollipop and reported having no more although my nephews who had appointments 30 minutes prior both had lollipops and reported seeing a drawer full. That is how Harold the barber and his son treat CHILDREN when they are upset with adults. Harold reported his son being "in training and learning", however, good customer service is explaining the issue in advance and expressing your gratitude for being patient and still waiting. Terrible, terrible terrible. Also the son "in training" costs the same amount as a skilled barber...interesting. They sped off in their fancy cars and didn't look back at the conclusion of the late appointment. No bueno Harold Sr ad Jr no bueno. Also the haircut was not good at all.

I initially started going to Evan's Barbershop off of Whitestone and Eric was trimming my mustache and goatee and did a really great job every time. Then when Eric left, I gave Melissa a try, and she not only impressed me with her chair side manner, but she also was very detailed oriented. Each time there after when I came in for an appointment, she remembered which clipper guard that was used, and I never once had to remind her. Then when Evan's Barbershop moved to 2500 S. Bagdad Road in Leander and changed their name to Haircuts by Evan's, I had to follow if I wanted to continue receiving the exceptional and professional services of Melissa. In my personal opinion Melissa is truly the BEST in all of Cedar Park and Leander! I had bounced around to a few other places before I first started going to Evan's barbershop and my only regret is not finding Haircuts by Evan's sooner. I look at it like this, anyone looking for a friendly atmosphere with some kick ass tunes being played in the background, and their sanitation is dead on within the guidelines of the CDC, there isn't any need to go anywhere else, WORD UP!! Plus I hear and have seen that they don't just cater to men, they will take care of the female gender too! IF by chance you heed my review and wish to make an appointment with Melissa? While visiting my daughter in Texas I needed to find a place to get my beard trimmed and shaped. I needed to find someone who was an expert and had some savvy in dealing with breads. I shopped around for a least a month or so with no luck, until I visited Evans Barber Shop. As I sat waiting, I saw the Barber, Eric, in action. Wow did I get luckily, he was exactly what I was looking for. What an awesome experience. When I entered the Barber Shop I was greeted with a friendly hello. The shop was clean and the environment was relaxing. The customer service was excellent, the entire staff was friendly and accommodating The service I received from Eric was more than what I had expected and the price was great. I had been going the Evan Family Barbershop for about 4 years to get my hair cut. The price was fine, the barbers friendly and I could walk in without an appointment in the middle of a week and get a hair cut with minimal wait. Things have changed recently, however. Now when I go in the middle of the week, I am asked if I have an appointment. This has happened two times in the last week, including today. There were 3 barbers in the shop and only one was working. One person was waiting for the barber who was working and two barbers were apparently available. I think that if the barbershop has changed their business model from walk-in and appointments to appointments-only, they should advertise it as such so that customers like myself are aware. I am looking for another barbershop. read more

Great way to start he new year! Evans Barber Shop is great place for a hair cut and a beard trim if you are looking for a place in north Austin area (Cedar Park). Evans is a no frills kinda place that seems to concentrate on the job that they do instead of all the uppity stuff that some of the "salons" worry about. I was referred to Derrick Garcia and was not disappointed. Derrick was professional, took his time and did a great job. Just a salt of the earth good guy trying to make an honest living to take care of his kid! This was my first trip to Evans and to see Derrick and I will definitely make it back again. I have never written a review for a business in my entire life, but for this place I had to. Literally the best haircut I have ever gotten. For $18, before tip, I got my hair cut amazingly well, my neckline cut with a straight razor, my hair washed by hand with a steamed towel on my face, and a leave-in conditioner for the road. Moreover, you can get your neckline and sideburns/over-the-ear hair trimmed for free between cuts. I live all the way in Austin proper and used to just go to a Great Clips for a cheap in-n-out haircut. Never again. I will be driving to Cedar Park for every haircut. Amazing. read more

Derrick is a true artist. The days of a straight razor/hot towel shave are long gone... Or so I thought until I met Derrick at Evans Barber Shop. His steady hand and attention to detail are amazing. He told me about growing up in his grandfather's barbershop where he learned this art (and a few family secrets) at a very young age. He put me at ease. I've never had a more relaxing cut and shave. Little higher than most base shops ($22) but well worth it! Haircut, shampoo, style product, and a straight razor trim of your neckline. Kristine did a great job! She's quick, clean and very perches with that you ask her to do. She cleans up areas that you personally want touched up more and does until your completely satisfied. Brought my boys in for a haircut that they were long overdue for. The place was bright and clean and the temperature was very comfortable. Our barber's name was Steve. He did a great job!
