Awesome service! I typically get a #2 and at a former barber they used the clipper for the entire cut. I really appreciated Steve's advice that this wouldn't lead to a good hair cut and recommended using both the clipper and scissors on top. So great to have a barber that provides his opinion and recommendation on a great haircut! Steve is extremely thorough. He checks not only ears and eyebrows (in the past I've had to ask for this), but also saw some misplaced hairs that needed plucking. Loved the decor of this place. I used to deliver papers back in the early 80's and remember delivering to a barber shop similar to this. The place just has such a cool retro vibe to it and only adds to the experience. I was having trouble finding a location that had people skilled in facial hair and as it's obvious I don't need my head hair styled. I had an incredibly disturbing experience at this barbershop due to the unacceptable behavior of the "barber", Alex Creel. While I was at the barbershop, Mr. Creel not only made sexist, racist, homophobic, and transphobic remarks but also exhibited violent behavior toward me. During my short and thankfully fast stay, Mr. Creel made inappropriate comments about multiple people, gender, ethnicity, and sexual orientation. His behavior was completely unprofessional and disrespectful. He also made hurtful and offensive transphobic remarks that made me feel deeply uncomfortable and disrespected. To make matters worse, Mr. Creel had a terrible attitude and showed no regard for his craft as a barber. The only thing worse than his attitude was the quality of his haircuts. His Hair Cuts are uneven and poorly styled, with noticeable mistakes. You are paying top-quality dollars over there but getting a "Great Clips" cut at best from him. It was clear that Mr. Creel did not value my business or my presence in the shop. Discrimination, violence, and bigotry have no place in any professional environment, and neither does incompetence. I urge the owners of this barbershop to take immediate action to address the behavior of Alex Creel and ensure that all customers are treated with respect and dignity by skilled professional barbers. 100% best experience I've ever had in a barber chair. I'm bald, so I went in for a beard trim on someone else's recommendation. Steve knows what he's doing. I regret not going after hours, so I could enjoy a bourbon with him, on the house. He does the full old-timey experience you never knew you needed, with hot towels and a finishing massage, and he even makes his own hot lather from a 70-year-old recipe taught to him by his mentor!!! Not a family-friendly barber shop. Steve was impolite to my wife when she tried to guide one of the barbers, Mr. Lee during my dad's haircut. Mr. Lee apologized twice but Steve didn't have the decency to take responsibility of his impolite behavior. It's unfortunate that Steve's behavior is impacting other barber's clientele. read more
