To say Lynn did a great job is an understatement! My hair is incredibly fine, thick, and black as the night. Every other hair stylist I have been to has managed to fry my hair or damage my hair when they tried to get me the desired platinum blonde balayage I've always wanted. It took my almost a year to grow out my hair from the damage the last hairstylist cost me. Needless to say, I was incredibly apprehensive and was very stern in my expectations of what I wanted while still keeping my hair healthy and thick. Lynn not only listened to my concerns, but she said she would refund me 100% if I am not satisfied with the results - I gave her a shot and Ohmyheart, she delivered! This is exactly the platinum blonde balayage I wanted that still looked smooth and healthy. 15/10 would recommend! Ok to start off, the service was late. She was 15 mins late to the appointment. I had gotten there on time. After she called me in, after another 5 mins of me waiting for her to get her stuff together, I finally sat down. I showed her a reference pic of curtain bangs in which it was clear how long I wanted them. She started to straighten my hair, and I was scared that she was gonna poke my in the face with the straightener. She then started cutting the hair, and she kept cutting them until they got "even" , expect the bangs ended up way to short, and totally different from the reference pic. After I got home, I realized that the left side of the bangs was shorter than the right side. The vibe was not the best, and they could have done WAY better. read more

Buckle up, this is long, but this was honestly, the worst hair experience I've ever had. It's been 4 months and I'm still picking up the pieces and trying to fix my hair. If you want a simple haircut, this place is fine. If you want something more complex, I would 100% pass. I went in asking for the inspiration pic and left looking like I let my 10 year old try to color my hair. 1st warning sign was that they were able to get me in on the Saturday before Mother's Day 2 days before. But I had seen so many raving reviews on area Facebook groups that I figured maybe I shouldn't worry. I explained what I wanted on the phone and she said no problem. I got there about 20 minutes early and first impressions were not good. Every bone in my body said run, but I was there getting a cut for my daughter as well so I didn't want to stick her out. The place was HOT. The doors were open to help with that, so there were bugs hopping around everywhere, including a spider that ended up crawling up my daughters leg. It smelled really strong of perm chemicals as well - I'm not sure that place has any ventilation. They took my daughter in first but 20 min later I was still waiting to be seen even though I was going to be sitting through some long processing times. I finally asked when we were going to get started and the lady (whom I assume is the owner) sat me down in another chair. 40 minutes later, the lady who had just finished cutting my daughters hair asks how short I want my hair cut even though I wasn't there for a haircut. I told her what I was there for (including showing her the picture), and she went to the same lady that sat me down who started working on my hair, assuring me she could get my hair just the way I wanted it. Don't worry, she said. Application was sketchy at best. Random pieces of foil, bleach dripping down my face ruining my sweater, patches completely missed. I kept thinking it was part of the process and that she would be back to finish. I finally asked when she would be touching up the roots. She eventually returned for that, quickly smudging burgundy hair color on my roots even though I had told her I didn't want any more red in my hair. She said it's brown, and to not worry. Somehow, things kept getting worse. When it came time to rinse my hair, she kept rubbing her bleach covered fingers across my cheek as she tried to rush through the process, getting bleach in my eyes. I told her it was burning and she just said almost done. The toner she applied burned my scalp so bad, and she got that in my eyes too. I ended up running into bathroom to rinse my eyes. There were no paper towels or soap for that matter, so I just grabbed toilet paper in a hurry to try and stop the burning I walked out of the bathroom and could hear another customer arguing with the lady at the front, saying her appointment was an hour ago and that had they known it was going to take that long, they should have told her. That lady literally left in tears. It was so bad my daughter asked me why the lady was crying. I returned back to the chair to get combed and styled and the lady kept saying how my hair looked just like the picture (which it clearly doesn't). I pointed out there were gaps of hair uncolored, roots untouched, so much red, overall I was not happy. "Just like picture". She asked my 10 yr old daughter if she liked it and of course she is 10 so she didn't want to hurt any ones feelings and said it was fine. I explained it was not like the picture and it looked really bad. She agreed to fix it, telling me to come back in 3 days and that it would take only 30 minutes, no problem. Needless to say, I left and never returned. I've spent hundreds of dollars in product and hair appointments trying to fix the terrible coloring and repair my hair. I would avoid this place, no matter how wonderful the feedback is online unless you're prepared to deal with the aftermath. read more

It was very hard to give a try on a new place and have my hair cut after 5 years of doing it for the same person... I'm in a new city and everything is new to me. I decided to take a chance with Lynn because is very close to where I live and in case I need to go and my husband can't drive me, I can go walking or with my skaters. I asked for basic trim, one inch basically and she did a good job, I may come back for a dye or keratin, but so far she was real good at her craft. read more

This place is filthy, first of all. Secondly: here's what I asked for and what I got. They did only color, not cut. Why does this requested chunky balayage look like a cap pull through all over highlight that changed the whole color of my hair? They also can't accommodate someone who is 5'7", requiring me to slouch/half lay down in the chair for an extended part of the appointment. I never leave reviews (I'm always very understanding and love to support small businesses) so let this be your warning. My experience was ridiculous. After talking for about 30 seconds, she grabbed scissors (which were not in sanitizer btw) and very suddenly and aggressively started cutting my hair. I was a little thrown bc she didn't brush or wet my hair but I was trusting the process. However, she increasingly became aggressive, using a comb to brush and cut in sharp quick motions- I swear she wasn't even looking. At one point, she had combed all my hair across my forehead and was cutting randomly?? She charged me double than the website states, but there's no signs in the salon and I just wanted to leave. When I got home, every section of my hair was a different length- which I wish was a dramatization. This is crazy because my hair was already layered and I just asked for an inch off and keep the layers. I have side bangs and not only did she cut them unevenly and too short, but the hair that is about 4 inches from the top of my head (which was the length of my regular hair) was cut as short as my bangs. The "layers" are insane- there was a one and a half difference between the bottom of my hair and the next layer it looked so bad!? It's not cohesive in the slightest, the hair is uneven on the sides and her scissors damaged my hair. the lady who cut my hair either didn't know what she was doing or truly didn't care. I have to wear my hair up all the time now (and my bangs are still too short to be put up) so I'm desperately letting it grow out. I recently got the bottom layer cut off to be even with the next layer, but it's going to take a year for me to grow it out and get it even again. The lady who helped fix my hair was appalled. I've never been mad about a hair cut bc it's just haircut but this place should be embarrassed. I was new to Austin and chose the first place closest to me, but I will never go back and you shouldn't go either. I have been going to Image Hair Salon for some time, now. I have been a hair Diva throughout my life going to high-priced salons and I rarely leave left feeling satisfied. Then I visited Image Hair Salon where I met Lynn! She is so amazing that I see her every single week!!!! We alternate weekly services which include: hair color, glossing, highlights blow dry/style, up-do's, and applying my tape-in extensions. (I posted this on google and thought I should post it here as well!) I get a haircut once a year because I can NEVER find a hairdresser that can cut exactly what I'm asking for! So once a year I google the best rated and most fanciest hair salons and go with the highest rated one in whatever area I'm living in at the time. This year I'm on Anderson mill. Last year I went with green alley salon, disappointed. The year before was milk and honey spa in the arboretum, huge disappointment! And many other fancy expensive places in the past. Every single time I brought the same 2 pictures of the style I wanted and each time I got something that wasn't even close to what I wanted. This time I found image hair salon, a lot of good reviews but not fancy or expensive so I was a little skeptical, but I decided to give this place a chance because with covid 19 being crazy right now there wasn't a lot of places open on a Sunday. I call and make an appointment and to my surprise the hairdresser (really nice Asian woman, I never got her name unfortunately.) can see me in an hour! So I get to my appointment, show her the 2 pictures of what I'm wanting and right away she gets to cutting my hair. I had really long and thick hair, like all the way down to my bottom long! Every other hairdresser has huffed and puffed about dealing with my hair but she didn't mind and actually said how beautiful it was! She was so fast and precise, you could tell she has been cutting hair for a while now! It was amazing to watch how she did my hair because no other hairdresser I have gone to has put THAT much effort into my hair cut like she did! When she was done I asked her how much she wanted and she said $25! I was in shock! I said "what! That's all!?" I couldn't walk out just paying 25 so we agreed on 35 and a tip. I have gone to the fanciest salons and paid $75+ for a hair cut I was completely dissatisfied with so to pay so little for the hair cut I have been looking for for so long felt like a steal! Lol. My last stylist was Van and she's now my girl- I'm so happy with the long layered cut she gave me. She's very thorough and precise, not to mention a sweetie. The prices have slightly increased (from $40 trim + color to a $25 cut alone) but whatever. It's totally reasonable. I love Image Hair Salon! I found it through the recommendation of my close friend who has been coming here for years. Lynn is my stylist and she's a miracle worker. I have been coming here for over a year now and every time I leave happy and gorgeous. I started going grey at 23 (I'm 32 now) so I need root touch-ups every six weeks or so. If I could've given 0 stars I would. They advertise they do special occasion hair when they shouldn't. I went in at my appointment time to get my hair done. They made me wait close to 30 minutes before taking me back. When I got back they didn't even brush out my hair before starting. She simply braided my hair (not at all what I wanted and something I could have done myself). Because she didn't brush it there were tangles (I have long hair and it was windy) and she would yank them out. I am not tender headed as I've always had long hair but the way she was pulling was hurting a lot. Then to tie off the end of my hair she picked up a hair tie from the table that had hair wrapped around it THAT WAS NOT MINE and proceeded to put it in my hair. After seeing I was displeased with her work she offered to do an up-do instead. She just bunched the end of my braid into a ball and pinned it. Although she put in pins she did not put them in the correct spots to hold my hair tight. When I got home my hair was already falling out and the ends of my hair (from the braid) were sticking straight out, she didnt even hide them. Most of the pins were just placed in my hair and started falling out shortly after leaving as well. Needless to say, I had to go buy my own hair products (I was from out of town) and quickly do my own hair, luckily I know how. Please do NOT go here, waste of time and money!!! Update: since visiting this place, I have been watching the reviews on this app. Every single time someone leaves a bad review the owner or someone gets defensive instead of taking responsibility for their workers and the services they provide. It's also a common trend for the owner to say he doesn't see any of these people on the list who visited the salon. Once or twice okay but every single person who says they had a bad experience? I would never go back to this salon if you paid me. i had to book a last minute haircut and blow out after a scheduling issue at another salon and this was literally the only place available. ad I walked in, the place reeked of perm chemicals . I sat down to wait and watched the stylists cut 3 ppls hair before me.... complete hack jobs. I was applauded and made the decision to just have a blow out style, absolutely no cut.... i then walked to the back and saw dirty, wet towels strewn about. the walls and floors were filthy. the stylist washed my hair once and said she used conditioner, but I don't think she did. there were towers of dirty, hair-filled curlers. No idea how the health department hasn't shut this place down. The blow out was awful. I had to ask 3 times for her to completely dry my hair. Her products were in unlabeled jars so I have no idea what she actually put in my hair. Today, the curl is completely gone and frizz as taken over. What did she do? She cuts it to how she likes it. Like WTH bro, I have to live with the hair cut, not you, so just do it the way I want it. She never consulted me to ask for my opinion. I never asked for layers, I never asked for face framing but she did it anyways. Now I look like a 1970s actress. I confronted her and she said she thought it would look nicer this way. I rely heavily on Yelp since I am new to the area so this is an extremely honest review. I went to Lin (Lynn?) a month ago for a root touch up. I am not tender headed and have a very high pain tolerance and I have never had someone pull my hair the way she did. It was while coloring, shampooing and styling. I thought she did an ok job and loved the price so I figured I would give it another chance. I went back on Saturday and again, I was dying when I left there. I said something to her this time on several occasions and even said "OUCH" a few times and she said I don't drink enough water and probably wear my hair in a ponytail every day. I literally drink water all day and style my hair daily for work. I had her do blonde balayage this time with a root touch up and trim the ends. The blonde is a little orange/yellow color and the trim I asked for took off about 3 inches. I specifically said I was trying to grow it out more. I can get over a little extra length taken off because it's hair..it grows. However, I do not want to dread getting my hair done and end the experience with a massive headache for 2 days. I felt I was being manhandled and had shampoo and water flung in my eyes while laying in the shampoo bowl. Also, my appointment was at 8:30 and nobody was there by 8:45 so I left. I found this salon on yelp and decided to go to them because of their five stars rating. My experience was traumatic. My hair cut took less than 15 mins and my hair came out so uneven and looks horrific. My bang looks horrible and that I can't even looked myself in the mirror and that I have to a another haircut the next day. I never had this bad hair cut ever in my life. I even cried after seeing my hair. Prior to the cut I thought me and the stylist understood each other to keep the length but she chopped off 2-3inches off my hair and was saying how my hair had a lot of split ends. She kept wanting to cut my hair shorter and I kept saying no. I should've left the minute she cut my bangs but I didn't have a gut to. I guess you get what you for $18 haircut. I went in and it was empty which made me a little bit nervous, but I was quickly greeted and sat down at a station.
