My experience is dreadful. I ordered an item to thank my Dr and staff for something. Once the item arrived within my state, only 2 hrs from it's destination, it disappeared. After almost 2 weeks and no decent professional explanation of lost shipment and over 6 hours of trying to place a replacement order on a horrible phone connection, I decided I have no energy left to start this over. The customer service was so bad. It is outsourced to India and both times I called i had to repeat my self literally 10 times about my issue. My issue was I ordered 2 package deals which equated 4 boxes but only got 2. They were not understanding why i didn't get my 2 missing boxes bc it was all on the same tracking and should have been shipped together. Then they said i would get a replacement in a week which never came. I called and the outsourced person said we didn't re order it bc it says delivered. I said what aren't you understanding. I received half my order. Give me a refund. So thry did but didn't minus the shipping for the other half of my order that i never received. I have to call again tomorrow. Don't even bother. I ordered a few items and received them very promptly. However, it wasn't until after I received them that I saw stickers on the chocolate boxes. The stickers were prominent, and they read, "This product contains a chemical known to cause cancer." If people are going to buy carcinogenic foods, then customers need to know before purchasing. It's unethical and wrong to inform people after the fact. Buyer beware. I won't be buying from them again. read more

Can't believe it - charged full price for Christmas gifts to be sent to a relative that WERE NOT sent. The order was placed on November 27th. The order was delivered prior to Christmas as requested. However, only one item out of 5 was delivered. The company never advised me of the shortage. After inquiring about the possible shortage, I received an answer advising me that ALL of the items were sold out except for one and a partial refund will be issued. They had to have been aware of the shortage when the shipment was packed, but didn't notify me until after I brought it to their attention visa email on Christmas day . It looks like they were just hoping that the shortage didn't get noticed. This really frost me as this was a Christmas gift for a relative. I received a catalog for Christmas ordering. On the cover it stated that if you order the first time you would receive a box of chocolates and a second box with a $42 value. I ordered but their system would not allow me to send gifts to other people and the free boxes to me. So I made a call to them to get it straightened out. The girl, after about an hour said it was her first day and had no idea how to do what I needed. It was late at night so I called the next morning and talked to a second employee who said she got it straightened out. I received a box of 12 pieces of candy but not 2 second box and definately not worth $42. So I wrote their customer setvice and they said they ran out and it was only as supplies lasted and I told them it didnt state as supplies lasted. Dont oreder when they bait and swirch. read more

Suprised by all the negative reviews of The Swiss Colony a family owned business since 1926. I gave 5 stars for my delivery gift service and product experience. Unable to Check-in on Yelp since company is out of state. Based in Monroe, Wisconsin with delivery to Jersey City, New Jersey to my front door with a friendly knock. I was gifted the bread & creme set which came with: Apple Date Bread Banana Bread Blueberry Bread Carrot Bread Honey Creme Filbert Creme Vanilla Creme All packaged nicely in a gift style presentation with the shipping package as a gift box. Unexpected and thrilled to receive with perfect timing for the holiday. Everything was very tasty. The cremes on the bread was way too much flavor for me. I ate the breads alone because they were so moist and flavorful they didn't need any cremes, butters or spreads. All of them were perfect with a cup of coffee. I tried a little bit of each creme with a piece of french bread but liked it better with a toasted bagel. Very pleased to receive this gift box from The Swiss Colony and would definitely love to sample more if they showed up at my front door. Would recommend as gift giving as well. read more

I opened an account with Swiss Colony earlier this year. I tried to place an order online to Swiss Colony on October 11, 2025. The web site worked fine until it came to entering a credit card and then their system just kept clocking until it timed out. I called customer service and explained the problem and was finally told my computer needed to be updated or rebooted. On 10-12-25 I tried adding a credit card to my account with no success. On 10-13-25 I tried an online order with no results and call customer service again and got the same reply about my computer. My computer is brand new as of April of this year and completely updated. I received two emails from Swiss Colony saying my cart is still active and to complete my order. On 10-16-25 I tried again with no success on the credit card entry. I called again and talked with a representative about the problem I was having. She found my account, and I asked if she could get to my cart and just finish entering the credit card. She could not do this, and I was upset because errors can happen when a different shipping address is used because it is a gift to someone else. The credit card is good, earlier today is used this card twice on other website orders with no problems. Does anyone else have problems with Swiss Colony's website? read more

This was my first time ever using this company and OMG it is the last. Products do not look like the photos on their website or catalog, not one single gift I ordered arrived on the schedule they asked I pick from, and they cancelled two of my gift orders without notifying me -- and for no clear reason!!. Their website is easy to use when you're ordering, but later when you're trying to track down an order or figure out status, it's a nightmare and their customer service is outsourced and doesn't seem to be able to track down solid info. Overall my opinion is that this was absolutely the worst place to purchase corporate gifts and I feel robbed. Ugh!!! *Edited to add: they went ahead and yes, DOUBLE charged my credit card, and refuse to correct the mistake, as well. The entire schtick was pure dinner theater as their staff decked out as Tyrolean milk maids offered samples while assembling your shopping mall harvest. There was little wonder why Santa struggles with obesity. Now strictly mail order, Swiss Colony is still in the highly preserved meat and cheese business now rounding out their homecoming platters with chocolate and dried fruit. All kidding aside... who could resist tearing into this petrified bounty at the first opportunity. The hell with Uncle's Christmas assortment, I'm hungry. I ordered almost 300 dollars worth of stuff and was not happy with the fact they didn't put a card inside the box. my family did not even know who it was from. they send it in a Swiss colony box with two small strips of tape on it. One of my family had theirs say to them and from them. I called the headquarters for Swiss colony and talked with someone very rude. So their customer service needs some more training. Ray Kubly founded this organization in 1926. I don't suppose the current CEO has the same ideas about customer satisfaction, as Ray did. It appears that, once upon a time, this company had values. They are invisible now. I recently placed an order, received said order, and was HIGHLY disgusted with the way the company handled my transaction. When I left a review on their site, they took it down. Apparently, they'll keep a review as long as it's super nice, and paints them in a good light. Otherwise, they don't want to hear from you. I've ordered from Swiss Colony in the past with good service. This time though my package got to Columbus Ohio headed for the Cleveland area on the 21st and is still there today, the 27th. I contacted them via email on the 26th WITH NO RESPONSE and just contacted them again. We'll see if I get a response this time. I should at least get a refund of my shipping fee since my package was not delivered on time before Christmas. By now, they could have walked it to the Cleveland area. I was then told the tracking number was just wrong and they assured me the customers would receive by 12/24. I ordered 12.12. Not one received. I had to call 3 times and now I'm on hold for 24 m. No one can figure this out. Do NOT use Swiss Colony. The product is good IF you get it. Customer service was horrible. No one knows what's going on with my packages. Do not waste your money! I ordered a turkey & ham for Thanksgiving plus 2 desserts, but I was never told when they would arrive, and calling Customer Service did not give me a delivery date either! FedX delivered everything separately on different days, & charged me separate shipping costs on each item. Fed X failed to ring my doorbell or knock, so I did not know the order was there, until I found it by accident before it defrosted. The turkey did not have any cooking directions at all, & was not that good. The ham did have cooking directions, but was very sweet & fatty. Swiss Colony may have been good in the past, but have gone severely downhill since that time, & so has the quality of their products! Per FedEx website package has been roaming around California for 10 days and just today (12/19/24) FedEx website has been updated to show delivery of 12/21/24. Per FedEx they stated it's because of the method SwissColony chose to ship it! So what could and should have been delivered in less than a week (once package was received at FedEx (its original destination was Southern California and was being delivered to Sacramento area of California) is going to take 12 days. I don't know how this company stays in business. I placed an order on NOV. 24 to Hawaii and asked it be delivered by Christmas. Here it is a week before Christmas and it is still not shipped. I doubt it's going to get there in time. So I called and the recording says they are experiencing a large volume of calls and disconnects me. So I email them. I have been a Swiss Colony customer for many years but NO MORE! I ordered a birthday gift for my granddaughter on 4/5. On a $50 order, they charged $21.98 for shipping and handling. I got an email on 4/6 saying it had been shipped but her birthday on 4/17 has come and gone and NO PKG.! When I called yesterday, they said that it was at the FedEx warehouse in Indiana and they would email me when it left the warehouse. I said that I doubted that the items would still be edible and he said that Swiss Colony would make an adjustment if the items were not acceptable after they were received. I said since they were gifts, how would that work? I called again today and said that I wanted the original order cancelled and replacements sent to me in a reasonable time. He said it would be 7-10 days so I asked to speak to his supervisor. After being on hold for a couple of minutes, the call was dropped! I called back and finally spoke to a supervisor. She said that a replacement order had been made and that it would be overnighted so I should receive it by the 21st. I told her that the glacially slow delivery was a super problem for their company, especially since they charge so much for shipping! She said they had no control over shipments after they left their warehouse! Anyway - good products through the years but unbelievably high shipping costs coupled with super slow shipping mean that I will no longer be a Swiss Colony customer. read more

My kids and I like fruit cake and this year I saw Swiss Colony had fruit cake cookies. The picture showed fat cookies with lots of chunky fruit. I ordered a big tin of them and what I received were very flat cookies with tiny bits of fruit. Flat like a thin pancake and crumbs of fruit, so they do Not taste good! If you want to avoid the hassles of ordering and delivery with this company, do yourself a favor and order a gift basket through Amazon. Amazon doesn't have everything in the Swiss Colony catalog but they have the more popular gift baskets. I'm glad I did as I didn't have a problem with delivery last year and the item came before Xmas. Unfortunately, the quality of the food is terrible. I had always wanted to order from Swiss Colony because everything in their catalog looked scrumptious. In reality, the cheese is processed and tastes bland, the nuts are pedestrian and the sausage and ham have the same quality as Slim Jims from 7-11. The only thing good about Swiss Colony is the presentation - artfully arranged gift baskets that make you want to buy it. But they use a magnification lens as everything is also very small. Since cheese is packed into every gift basket, the boxes come with a warning label that it should be refrigerated upon arrival. Unfortunately there's no way of knowing how long it's been away from the fridge when you get it and worse, there's no dry ice or special padding to keep it fresh. It's just thrown in with the meat and treated the same way. Since salami and sausage are preserved meats, you won't get sick, but what about the cheese? Their chocolate tortes are a mixed bag. I ate one and didn't like the taste. I broke the bar in two and noticed there were white dots on the inside - old chocolate tends to turn white. I contacted Swiss Colony through Amazon and they were kind enough to give me a refund. Very generous of them, but the speed with which they accepted my complaint means I'm not the only one. Given the poor quality of the food, I'm amazed at how some people get into debt buying these gift baskets. Swiss Colony peddles credit to anyone with a pulse. If you can't afford it, don't buy it. I used my Amazon account and paid in full. Layaway for this mediocre stuff is simply not worth it. read more

Account HACKED and they don't care! I ordered something that was delivered in April 2022. I got an email confirmation for an order made December 2023 that I DID NOT MAKE. I "canceled" the order through the email with "cancel pending". I called multiple times to ensure the cancel went through but every time I got sent to customer service no answer. I think they know what's going on and have been instructed to ditch the caller. This morning the shipment shipped despite my cancellation. This whole company is a scam and your information is certainly not safe with them. RUN AWAY! read more
