This trip no photos. It was cute too. Nice set up to just sit and relax. Counter service was super friendly. Chocolate candies will make you happy! We'll definitely be back to try more! read more

I was roaming around in the area on a Saturday, when I decided to stop by in this place. I went with one of their special drinks - lucky charms latte. It was a nice flavorful latte. The lucky charms gave a good crunch to the drink. The display had some excellent chocolates and other sweets. I tried the peanut butter fudge, and it was really good. I was tempted to get a box of chocolate. They also serve CedarCrest ice cream. I wanted to try one, but the place got very busy. read more

Can't wake up in the mornings without our coffee special ordered-in from Chocolate temptations! We live in Missouri but we order our fresh ground coffee monthly to be delivered to us. Get our taste of Monroe from afar, it's the best! read more

Really nice, clean, cute interior. We sat and chatted for a bit. Comfy seating. I had a pumpkin vanilla coffee- except I couldn't taste a bit of pumpkin. The cheese cake was good, chose Carmel as topping. My friend had bought the beans, made coffee and she said it was very tasty. I loved the cold water in the jug! After all those sweets on a hot day had 3 glasses of water. read more

What can I say, I love chocolate; so when I saw this place I told my husband we were going there. I was not disappointed. We were greeted warmly as soon as we entered. We read through the plethora of menu options and gazed at the fudge and bakery items behind the glass display. We felt comfortable to take our time and ended up ordering a latte, hot chocolate and a couple ice cream sundaes. Given the strange world of COVID-19, this cafe made us feel almost normal again. Definitely give them your patronage. Thank you. :-) read more

Great little local coffee/candy shop on the town square. Good selection of whole bean and ground coffees and teas. I try hard to ignore the large display case of chocolate candies and other sweets (not to successfully). A few tables inside to sit at and enjoy your drink. Good service, clean environment. Hours can be erratic. Tried to shop there at least 3 or 4 times on a Saturday afternoon in the summer/fall and they were closed. Masks don't seem to be required so be aware. Would have given a 5 star review otherwise. read more

Did I say the best sugar free iced latte that I've ever had! The service was outstanding and it was so immaculate which is such a pleasure to be a connoisseur in this establishment. I ordered the salted turtle latte that was recommended to me. My partner had their regular coffee and an apple scone which was delicious too. They have free WiFi and a whole case filled with chocolate delectables. If you could visit a perfect coffee spot this would be it!!!!! read more

Choices of sweetness abounds. However, expect to spend $$$. Was disappointed with the amount of ice ream in a one scoop cone which was equivalent to 1/3 cup. read more

24 hours in town, two trips to Chocolate Temptation. Definitely a downtown Monroe gem. This joint lies somewhere between cute and handsome...vaguely European but also sort of Midwestern-Victorian. In any case, it works--helps you settle into the mood to enjoy various chocolatey desserts. But then again, I am always in the mood for chocolatey desserts. You've got your four basic food groups: coffee drinks, ice cream, chocolates, and cakes/pastries/etc. I ate the Maui Wowie sundae (kona coffee ice cream, hot fudge, and toasted coconut) and could not stop moaning; the toasted coconut makes the sundae. I also drank a chai latte, and could appreciate that the chai was homemade although it seemed a little watery. On visit #2, I took a chocolate malt milkshake to go and nearly collapsed on the sidewalk. SO fucking good. From a gift earlier this year, I already knew that they made top-notch chocolates (especially the hazelnut and mint creme). This time I hauled home a treasure trove of creme de menthe oreos and "gertles" (i.e. their version of the turtle, only I got the cashew variety). The oreos...oh, there are no words. I may drive back to Wisconsin just for these things. I got six of them--how long do you think that the other five lasted once I tried the first one? Utterly shameful behavior. But, the deliciousness drove me temporarily insane. The gertles are good, but heavier on the caramel than on the chocolate. Their dark chocolate blows their milk chocolate out of the water, by the way. So whether you want to take some treats back home or sit in the cafe and enjoy a sundae or a dessert, do not miss Chocolate Temptation on your next trip to the square. read more

Girls listening into our private conversation!!!! A friend warned me after and told me what they told them.... not cool!! Also My husband got sick after having their coffee ... must have had had bad milk in it..... hopefully the new owners will change things. read more

Anyone who ever visits Monroe, WI and loves chocolate needs to make a stop at this quaint chocolate/coffee shop. I always make it a point to stop at Chocolate Temptation because it's soo good. 1. It's family owned & operated store. 2. Their handmade chocolates are divine! 3. Amazing flavored coffees 4. Excellent White Choc Temptation mocha :) (iced for me!) 5. Cappuccino muffins fresh out of the oven are quite possibly the best muffins I've ever had. 6. You can hand pick a choc assortment box to give to someone 7. They play relaxing piano music 8. Parking meters accepts.....PENNIES!!! OMG, I know (!!!!!!!) Sipping on their coffee and eating their chocolates will make you feel fancy schmancy. Stop here if you're driving up from Chicago en route to Madison. You can thank me later :) read more

Okay, first, take a look at the other reviews...this place makes all sorts of sweets and treats, chocolates, etc. And they do look incredible. This review is not about that.... This is about the cafe side of the business. I watch my diet, especially sugar and fats, for health reasons. So, I came here again, having forgotten about the last time I tried to order an iced latte. Okay, what is an iced latte? It's cold milk, ice, and espresso. That's it. I ordered an iced latte. The young woman brought me an "iced Cappucino"...and I then remembered my last experience here. Yes, again, it was a drink made from a pre-sweetened espresso syrup they had made. using brown sugar, I was told. But, guess what...I did NOT order a sweetened drink. In fact, when I ordered it, the woman asked if I wanted any flavor or syrup. I specially said no. Just an iced skim latte. See, folks, because some people do NOT want extra sugar in their diet. So when we tell you NO SWEETENER - it is a HEALTH issue! So, I asked them to make me an actual iced skim latte. I was not rude, impatient, I simply asked them to please make what I ordered. I got attitude, total attitude. Like I was being a complete pain in the ass for asking the beverage I ordered, and paid for, be made correctly. Then, when it was "custom" made (as the young lady huffed at me), she stuck it in my hand, frowned at me, and huffed off. It was made with whole milk. Really? For god's sake people...you have an espresso machine and claim to serve high-end coffee. You charge for high end coffee. Can't blame the staff, though. I overheard them conferring with the owner/manager that they sweeten their espresso so it isn't "too bitter"......really? For that, and the shitty attitude....one star.... (apparently, you should go here for the chocolate, not the iced lattes) read more

As a native Monroeian (just go with it) when I think of the Monroe Square, I think of Chocolate Temptations. In middle school, I remember walking to Chocolate Temptations with friends on Friday afternoons to indulge in a steamer or cup of ice cream, and pretend to be adults while waiting for our parents to get off work and pick us up. These are the kind of memories that you think back to, and just smile. These days, walking through the door to see that the store hasn't changed one bit (in a very good way), from the perfect aroma of coffee beans and chocolate truffles to the quaint decor of Johnny Depp's "Chocolat" movie poster and sultry maroon walls, everything at this little shop is absolute perfection. This is nostalgia at it's finest. On my most recent visit I brought my grandma. We ordered a mocha and a hot tea, and of course a couple truffles. Sitting at the delicate glass tables with fresh place settings, we chatted about family and our hobbies. It was one of those moments I hope to remember forever and of course, Chocolate Temptations is once again at the base of a special memory. This little chocolatier shop is indulgent, artisan, and welcoming - the place of small-town dreams. Only in Monroe can you strike that kind of perfection. read more

Love love love Chocolate Temptation. It's a fantastic place to stop and enjoy an ice cream sundae with some coffee or, in my case, a warm chai latte. Quaint and cozy and absolutely delicious. Additionally, the chocolates themselves are fantastic. I especially enjoy the dark chocolate raspberry cremes and the dark chocolate covered orange peels. My grandparents live nearby and any time they come to Chicago for a visit they bring me a box or a bag of something delicious. If I remember correctly, they also have a very large selection of sugar free chocolates, so if you're looking for a tasty diabetic-friendly treat, Chocolate Temptation is the way to go. read more

Unimpressed. They say they make the chocolate on site but could not explain how they make it, or describe the flavors and textures of the various pieces. The coffee drinks we had were just ok. Nothing really to write home about. I might feel differently if I was a local, but as a tourist I won't be spending spending my dollars here again read more

I love me some Chocolate, and their truffles are huge and to DIE FOR. Also, a bit expensive. But you get what you pay for. So after you try some awesome cheese across the square, get yourself over here for some dessert. My boyfriend also had a italian lemonade with mango sorbet. REeeeeeFRESHING. Also got a bit of trash talk from the girl at the counter about the Cubs vs. Sox game on June 26th, 2010. Fun little place, I like their attitude... ^_^ read more

Great chocolate options and friendly service. Not the best chai, but that's not what they're known for.

Cute little chocolate, ice cream, and coffee place. Staff was friendly and very reasonably priced. I got a one scoop waffle cone and it was almost like I got two scoops they put so much in. So, good value for the money too. The chocolates looked delicious as well. And locally made too. read more

The best place ever! I LOVE their coffee shakes!!!! Wish I could move them to NC with me!!!!

Great local gem with outstanding staff! Fresh chocolate covered strawberries were the best!

I love coming down to the shop when I go visit my parents. There were a few hits and misses for a while due to the shop not being open when it should have been, but it has a unique service. And I absolutely love their chai floats read more

Just don't go on a Sunday, they are closed. Shame it is a perfect Sunday opportunity, go to Baungartners and then across the square to Chocolate Temptations. We were disappointed too that they were not open on Cheese Days. I have a feeling that there is no shortage of money in the owners pockets or he surely would be open when the tourists would be in town. Food is great and the girls who work there are very nice. If you can catch them open. read more
