I don't know why people have reviewed this place so bad??? We had AMAZING service!!!!! All of the young ladies working were happy to help. We had ice cream in bowls, with sprinkles & really enjoyed them. After we were done I used the restroom to wash my hands. I realized they were out of towels & let them know. They all apologized to me, all 3 of them working. The manager felt really bad. I said it's not your fault if no one tells you. We enjoyed sitting outside & enjoying the evening. Inside had plenty of seating & was very clean. Cute decorations hung on the walls the little I saw of them. We would definitely go back if we are passing through again! read more

I have eaten at this deli several times in the past. food was delicious and was served on nice heavy duty solid plates and in bowls with silverware. Now they are serving warm foods on/in styrofoam. YUCK! obviously there's some cost issues but I won't be going back until the food is on something that won't break down and leech chemicals into my hot food. I didn't see if they actually microwave the foot on these plates but I'm staying away regardless. Beware! read more

It's extremely sad when you are a consistent customer and come in for your usual order only to be over charged. By over charged, as in your usual order costs not even $40 to being charged over $75.00. An the excuse instead of checking their very much special ability to properly ring up an order, is prices go up? Sorry Hun, they don't jump that high over night. Used to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but there are too many red flags to ignore. No one washes their hands, no one wears masks, cloves or any facial hair protection. When you correct them on any mistake they make, be ready to be met with pure attitude and hostility. This 'Deli' needs to look in the mirror an readjust itself on so many levels. For one, hygiene, for two, attitude and basic customer service, finally, their inability to actually cook their food instead of using microwaves. My girlfriend and I stopped there for a quick lunch today while out and about. Not one employee was wearing a mask, which isn't surprising considering the owners political stance and background. On top of that, the food was terrible. I ordered a veggie baked potato (onions, spinach, mushroom, provolone, broccoli). No seasoning on the potato, red onion & mushrooms were raw and spinach was two giant leaves with 2 slices of provolone haphazardly melted on top. The thing looked and tasted like some amateur chef would've attempted. The other potato was broccoli and cheddar. Basically it was canned cheddar spread with a side of potato. Stick with Pancho and Lefty's if you're visiting the square. read more

OK this one excited me.! Wasn't expecting much I got the best turkey sandwich of my life! And the pasta salad I had wasn't the greatest because I don't like miracle whip or as I call it miracle crap if you're going to make a macaroni salad you may need to make it with mayonnaise not miracle whip or salad dressing is they Collett mayonnaise all the way I don't bother. Anyway my husband had had a liverwurst sandwich what are the few delis that I see that still serve it he seem to enjoy it very much and a big bowl of chili. The sandwich I had was only 550 and I think my husbands was 750 not quite sure how much is chili was all I know it wasn't a bad price for lunch I'll handmade so if you're in the neighborhood check them out they're worth a holler! read more

Literally the best ice cream I have EVER had! They also have gluten free options! It's from Chocolate Shoppe based in Wisconsin! Their side dishes are home made, there's a variety of soup everyday. There are special wraps for each day of the week! And all of their cheese and meats are sliced right where you can see it! Deliveries are fast, customer service is good! And our food comes out quickly as well, as long as it's not swamped with new trainees! The owner, Randy, will always be open if you start a conversation with him. My sister and I stopped here for lunch during the Saturday farmer's market. I had soup and a ham & swiss ciabata sandwich and she had road beef & swiss sandwich. I gave only four stars because they only heated the ham when I asked for my sandwich to be warmed so I had to straighten that out, that I wanted the entire sandwich warm. A deli-style lunch counter and an ice cream parlor in the same space? Sounds like a perfect road-trip stop to me. My wife and I were on our way from Chicago to Spring Green and reached Monroe just as the needle hit 'E' on our stomachs. Since I had been to Monroe once before, I knew that a stroll around the downtown square should present us with at least a couple of decent options for a quick, cheap lunch. Two things pulled us into the Garden Deli: their Friday special wrap and the Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream logo. I got the Friday special, a tasty southwestern barbecue chicken wrap on spinach tortilla. That plus a fountain drink was only $6.something. My wife enjoyed a basic turkey sandwich on a four-inch roll. All told we got two sandwiches and two drinks for twelve bucks and change. Beautiful. But wait, it gets better. It just happened to be National S'mores Day, and my wife just happens to be a massive s'mores fan, AND Garden Deli just happens to have a s'mores sundae. Syzygy! So of course we ordered it for dessert. Delicious Chocolate Shoppe brand vanilla ice cream, with hot fudge, marshmallow topping, chocolate chips, and graham cracker crumbles. Divine. This place is pretty no-frills, but it's awesome nevertheless. Casually friendly service like you get only in small towns. Various types of pre-sliced pies in the deli case. Ancient hardwood floors. Cute and stunningly clean restrooms. Regulars such as old ladies who order coffee to stay and have exact change ready. A board listing nine possible sandwich toppings/condiments, three of which are mustards. And two of which are "onions" and "red onions." Love it. read more

Alright, you're in a town known for an amazing cheese selection, a plethora of dining choices floods the downtown square and then there's this place. We came here as an afterthought, but left with a huge smile. Most of the downtown square dining spots had a waiting list so we kept looking. That's when we found the Garden Deli. A few of their specials were listed on a window so we investigated further. After spotting several promising choices on their menu we decided to stay. After all, there was no wait to eat and the prices were a third of what we'd spend at alternatives in the square. I had a club sub that included fresh veggies, meat and bread. Did I mention that a 7inch sub was $5.50? In Illinois we pay $10+ for that size sandwich, probably more if we want mayo. I also had a slice of pie which was excellent. I like to explore restaurants when we come up here but I'd go back to the Garden Deli without thinking twice. Great food and great prices...just can't beat it. Cheers. read more

The food and atmosphere were both fine. What was not fine was the total lack of mask wearing by any of the staff. No plexiglass, nothing that would suggest that they care about the health of their customers. It wasn't like just employees were not following protocols, even the owner was there clearly opting not to wear a mask. I actually used this place as a client meet up. I had permission from the owner, yet recently was informed that I take up a "large table" I do not, and that my clients do not buy anything, they do. I have to "Dump the Deli" from my roster of out of town meeting places. I honestly don't even think that the owner knows what I look like. Where do I even start? First off, I am a vegetarian (and specifically told them so) - I ordered an egg salad sandwich, thinking I would be safe. When my sandwich came out to the table low and behold there was bacon added on top of my sandwich (which I obviously did not order). When I brought this up to the counter to let the employee know this, I even had my copy of the order which showed I did not order bacon, I received the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The employee had an attitude with me, when I simply told them what had happened and asked if I could have a new sandwich - without bacon. The employee then proceeded to tell me that I was obviously wrong and had ordered my sandwich with bacon and just didn't remember. She finally "agreed" to give me a new sandwich, but did not apologize for her attitude at all. Finally, when I left she had said, "I hope you don't come back". Well Garden Deli and your sour-puss employee - you got your wish. I will never come back and I am proceeding to let everybody I know what a horrible experience I had here and that they should never go to your business. read more
