    Spring roll
    Vivian W.

Husband has been bugged me to try the Swiss chalet in Canada, as this is his favorite place for rotisserie chicken. We walked in today on our way to Ann Arbor for lunch, i ordered their chicken spring roll and kale salad. All very good, especially the spring roll, like authentic Chinese spring roll. And good price too.. 2 plate of spring roll for 8 dollars on promotion, regular is 7.99 for one. Can't believe it. I also tried rotisserie chicken from husband's plate, very good, and better than Costco or Sam's!

On the kids menu, you can order SKITTLES for dessert!!!!!!!!!!!!! the chicken is so good! the bread, also amazing and the fries!!!!!!!! i honestly feel like Swiss Chalet should be opened everywhere and not only in Canada! Also its very underrated!! favorite Restaurant EVER!!

I had supper this evening at Swiss Chalet. I was hungry as I hadn't eaten since breakfast and ordered a half chicken dinner with mashed potatoes. The chicken was good as was the dipping sauce. The potatoes were okay ... a bit salty and cold. Tammy was my server. She was friendly and quick.

Small portions and terrible service. Charged us for extra dipping sauce. Took a long time to get a waitress to our table

Recently this place was featured on Beard Meats Food, a YouTubing professional eater who travels…read morethe globe taking part in eating challenges at local restaurants. As we were planning to be in London (Ontario) anyhow we decided to stop in mainly out of curiosity. First and foremost this is a bar....the local 'watering hole'. Interior is a cross between dive bar and diner. In the early afternoon the bar was full of locals enjoying a beer. The menu is full of typical bar food, hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers, fish and chips, ribs etc. Hot dogs are the main event here with dozens of choices from the standard chili to ones topped with cereal and drizzled with maple syrup. Dogs are about the same size as a Costco dog but we did see a couple of locals order a foot long. They have a daily special and on Tuesday it's $2.00 tacos (choice of classic or pulled pork) or a slight up charge for the other choices (steak or chicken). Tacos come in soft or hard. What was ordered: 1 pulled pork taco and 1 classic taco 1 chili dog BBQ chicken quesadilla 1 poutine There are no combos. When you order a hot dog that is what you get. A hot dog. A side of fries or onion rings is extra. The verdict...it was okay. For food that is not complicated to make, our order took almost 30 minutes to arrive and it wasn't busy with food orders. When we ordered the $2.00 tacos we were told we also needed to order a drink to get the special. This is not printed on the ad. The quesadilla and chili dog were unremarkable. Poutine even more so. Service was good though. There was one server who also manned the bar. She seemed to know most of the locals and was very friendly.

Stopped in on a Thursday afternoon for lunch…read more Staff was friendly and welcoming. Music was perfect for a nice quiet lunch, a mix of older rock and country played at a volume that didn't drown out conversation. I had a hot dog with coleslaw and it was delicious. Fries were nothing special, likely from frozen. I would likely try a different side next time. Service was a touch slow, but the waitress was apologetic because they were changing over the soda, so that really can't be avoided. All in all I enjoyed it and would definitely eat here again.

Even after sitting on platter as we ate slowly over 30 min... still excellent. If I were choosing one app this would be it. The shrimp were exceptionally good. I'd be glad to eat them all alone as an app... one of the best. Mozzarella sticks, onion rings, mini spring rolls, garlic cheese bread and potato skins were good. Would not be disappointed if I didn't taste everything else. But not great The wings are prepared very crispy with lots of batter, cooked right. But the "medium" sauce is quite mild and very sweet. Two big men left satisfied after sharing the platter as our meal so portions are good. 5 sauces were fun. Staff were very friendly. Just so busy. I think more customers than anticipated came in as usually they are very attentive. It is a typical roadhouse sport bar. We sat at the bar which was fine. Clean and decently lit.

I will not be going back. With so many restaurants available in that end of London I cannot believe that anyone would continue to go to this dive. So very rude, and the food is sub-par, at best. I can understand once, but I tried a few times (I am in the area often with friends) - Just stay away!

My entree should arrive with the side dish the menu claimed it came with. The server should know that it's supposed to come with those mushrooms, and not come up to me with the menu and ask me where it says it comes with mushrooms. I shouldn't have my food taken away to "keep it heated" while waiting for the side dish, and while my dinner companion gets her plate. I shouldn't have to flag down a waiter for water refills. This is fake fine dining. The prices are real fine dining, but the service and experience are sloppy casual. Very embarrassing for a Valentine's Day menu with extremely limited options to cause so many problems. Again: the food was great. No problems with the food. But train the staff if you want to charge me 150 bucks for a fine dining experience.

Chocolate semifreddo: Mmmm, rich slice of chocolate heaven that is a cross between ice cream and cake. Mini dessert trio: The raspberry tart was... tart... and yummy. The chocolate cream eclair was bursting with cream and delicious. I was not impressed with the mini lemon poppyseed muffin, which had a mushy texture and no lemon flavour. Overall, the meal was delicious down to the fresh bread and salted butter. Highly recommend!

There was a sign to wait to be seated ... so I did ... for a long time. No one made an appearance so I sat myself. I ordered Chicken Pad Thai (without peppers and onions as they upset my stomach). It was delicious! My favourite pie in the whole wide world is lemon meringue and I couldn't resist. It was good. The food was really good and I'd go back for that Pad Thai again. The problem, though, is the service. As I said, I waited to be seated but finally ended up seating myself. Alannah was my server (she was also the bartender). Though she was friendly, I was wondering if perhaps the restaurant was understaffed as she seemed to disappear for a while ... taking care of other tables in the dining room maybe? And it's not like it was crowded ... while I was there, there were four tables of two max in the bar area and maybe three tables of people in the dining room (and Alannah wasn't the only server). I wasn't in any rush so had the time (and patience). I would have rated it higher if the service had been better.

I ordered hash browns as a side but in retrospect I should have ordered fruit as a side as that was a lot of potato. Everything went smooth. The food was good, the restaurant clean and nicely laid out and decorated. It was fairly quiet, noise-level-wise which I like. The price what about I would expect. It was a very nice meal. I'll come back and give this place another visit.
