What an excellent find on our road trip! The entrance to the building is marked, but after that it can be confusing. It is the blue building on the right-hand side. Their tasting room is well furnished and has a lot of fun activities available. It is open-air but can be shuttered for the cold season. We were there in August and it was very comfortable inside. They had 9 ciders on tap, of which we sampled via flights. The Pumpkin, Mango Ginger, and the Peanut Butter made our list for must tastes. The Caramel Apple, Wild Berry, and Pineapple were also very tasty. Check them out if you are in the area, or grab them at your local store when available.

Great variety. Tried a flight with 8 different flavors. Apple pie, Pear Rum ( has a Christmas / Thanksgiving vibe ) and sangria were our favorite flavors. Our server Amy was very helpful!

If you're into hard cider, craft beer, and a laid back atmosphere, then check this awesome place out! The cider is amazing and there's a great selection to choose from. I liked them all, but loved the mango ginger! They have several things to keep you interacting with others, from pool, to corn hole, and board games. Dogs are aloud, which is a huge plus for me and my gang of three pups. They're located in a industrial building which makes for a pretty cool and modern venue. The staff was friendly and were knowledgeable about their ciders. They are also huge supporters of special causes and charity's. Each month they pick a different tap and donate a $1 from each pour to the dedicated charity, which is great! Definitely a new favorite hangout! I've always been into craft beer, but Swilled Dog has turned me into a cider lover for sure! The only downfall is that I don't live closer ;)

Awesome staff. Great products. Plenty of games and entertainment. Cider and bourbon what's not to love.

Then got some snack boards (charcuterie, hummus) and got cider tasting flights, which were all really good.

The reason for 4 stars is the food while good and unique missed the mark a bit. The fried elements seemed to either indicate the oil was a bit old or they overcooked a few of our items. The fried greenbeans while really good overall and a unique preparation. Had a subtle burnt flavor and same with the Catfish Poboy. The PoBoy was uniquely prepared too with green tomatoes that really worked well. But the condiment was thin, and the tomatoes could have been a bit thicker cut. So flavor was good, but could have been better. The fries that came with the sandwiches were good though. So TLDR, the breading on the catfish, and the fried green beans, was thick and looked slightly over cooked and tasted a tad burnt but at the same time the food itself seemed cooked properly. Not horrible and overall was very good. Just not 5 star. But much better than standard bar food fare. Standout though was the dessert (Hot Brownie with ice cream) it was absolutely amazing. I'll be back and hopefully can give them a 5 star later.

The restaurant was empty of customers and only a couple of guys at the bar. The waitress came to our table and took our drink order along with out food order. The drinks didn't arrive for about twenty minutes. After the delivery of the drinks, the waitress didn't return to our table to take a second or subsequent drink orders. Finally, the drinks arrived and we waited for the food. There are a lot of local craft beers on the list, along with a wide selection of whiskies. Would have been fun to try some, but we never really had service at out table. This bar is Irish themed and Irish folk music is played on the sound system, loudly. Not bad, but you do h a very to speak up during conversations. The food arrived and was ,"just okay". I had the fried chicken sandwich, my friends had the burger. My wife had the grilled chicken sandwich. All meals came with fries. The service needs to step up their game. It was not busy at all and the wait staff were more interesting in socializing with each other than tending to the customers. Also, the food was delivered warm, it probably had been sitting under a light for some time. This place has great potential, but changes in service staffs priorities need to happen. Not impressed with this place, but if you decide to give them a try, I hope your experiences are better than ours.

The atmosphere was one of the best parts of the experience. The music was great, people were singing, and the whole place felt fun, relaxed, and like somewhere you genuinely want to spend time. The hostess was wonderful, and our server, Trinity, was extremely friendly, helpful, and welcoming. She genuinely seemed to enjoy what she was doing, and that made the experience even better. We started with drinks at the table, and both were excellent. The Washington's Rebellion Cherry Bounce was memorable and very well done, and the house smoked old fashioned was also delicious. We then had the Roasted Brussels, and they were absolutely amazing. The combination of honey, balsamic glaze, candied pecans, and parmesan was outstanding. For the main course, I had the Powderhorn Chop, and the flavor was very good. My only critique is that it would have benefited from a stronger sear and a bit more crust on the outside. A little more Maillard reaction, that browning of proteins and sugars that creates deeper savory complexity, would have elevated it even further. We also had a salmon special that evening, and that was outstanding. Dessert was another highlight, especially the warm pecan bourbon pie with ice cream, which was absolutely delicious. Service was a major strength. In addition to Trinity being so warm and attentive, other staff members, including management, came by to make sure everything was going well. We also appreciated that they offer a military discount. This was our first time here, and so far it is the best restaurant we have tried in the Berkeley Springs area. We were told they are expanding, and we are already looking forward to coming back, especially if outdoor seating is added in the future. This feels like exactly the kind of place we will return to often, especially when friends come to visit.

"Whiskey, Wings, and Pool Sharks: A Local Survival Guide"…read more If you find yourself in Elkins craving good food, cold drinks, and a side of character, roll on down to Whiskey River. The place is pure West Virginia charm with just the right mix of country grit and friendly mischief. The food? Fantastic. The wings are sauced like somebody back there actually cares, and the burgers taste like they've seen a grill before, not a microwave. But be warned: the real action happens at the pool tables. You might think, "I'll shoot a quick game while I wait on my fries." Next thing you know, you're three games deep against a guy named Buck who swears he's "rusty" but just ran the table faster than you can say cue ball. That's when you realize the fries were ready 20 minutes ago -- and you've just been hustled out of your dignity (and maybe a round of shots). Pro tip: If someone offers to "let you break," kindly decline and protect your pride. Order another beer, tip the bartender, and enjoy the show -- because watching the locals play pool here is better entertainment than half the stuff on TV. Whiskey River is one of those rare places where the food's hot, the folks are real, and the laughter's louder than the jukebox. Just remember: eat first, then play pool. You'll thank me later.

The inside is pretty small so if you have a larger group and you want to sit together, just know dining outside maybe your best option. Anyway! I ordered their garlic bread appetizer, short rib entree, which came with a side of mash potatoes, carrots, and Brussels sprouts; and pistachio cheesecake for dessert. The garlic bread appetizer is a must! It comes with enough pieces for about two people to share and is paired with a fresh bean paste as a dip - trust me it's delicious! The short rib was just as delicious! The Brussels sprouts did seem a bit undercooked, but it wasn't a deal breaker. Finally, the cheesecake was solid was well! Everything was a decent portion size and worth the price in my opinion. If you're in the area and looking for a nice place to dine, you should check them out.
