I have wanted Gumbo and Creole food and all the New Orleans goodness, but haven't experienced it in New Orleans. Oh my gosh, I walked in and was greeted by Andreas. (I hope that's how he spells his name.) He was very kind and patient and helpful with me. He pointed out the fun atmosphere inside. I looked at the menu and picked out: World Famous Gumbo over rice, Shrimp PO Boy, and the Sweep the Swamp PO Boy (Oysters, Shrimp, Crawfish, Gator) with Bayou Sauce, lettuce, tomatoes and pickles. And I got an order of the Fried Pickles too. YUM! I wasn't sure if my younger son would like his shrimp Po Boy. He loves shrimp, but he can be super picky about things. He wolfed it down. I am not entirely sure he was even hungry. But he ate it all. I ate part of my delicious Sweep the Swamp PO Boy. I am so full, I couldn't even eat 1/2. I will be having the rest of it probably for 2 more meals! So good. Wow. My other son isn't home and will have his Gumbo later. I am 100% positive I will be having a spoonful of that later. I was so happy to see they have the Beignet mix and coffee choices from Cafe du Monde. We just got back from Kona, Hawaii, and have so many bags of Kona coffee, so I didn't buy any of the Cafe du Monde coffee today. But I know I will be buying it in the future! An extra fun thing - Andreas gave me Marci Gras Beads too! Same color as my shirt. I think he picked them out since he knew I must like the color. What fun!!! A nice touch. Also, I needed to use the restroom while I was there, and it was nicely done up & clean. I will definitely be going back to this restaurant and food truck !!!! Go try it! Really good food, DELICIOUS.

My friend even commented on the quality of the chicken which isn't something I thought could Be noticed and he didn't realize I got it from a butcher not the grocery store. As far as a Middle Eastern market it's pretty typical. They make the best of the shelf space by stocking them to the max. If you've never spent time in the Middle East then it may seem cluttered, but this is normal for this type of store. There were 4 of us and we ate inside. The absolute stars of Babylon are the food and the people. The gentlemen working were very helpful with the menu and super attentive to anything we might need. They're from Kurdistan and were all very very nice. The food was wonderful. We got 2 large sample platters, large hummus, and a small tabbouli salad. One of the gentlemen heard me telling my friends how they make the Saj bread, within minutes he brought out a large fresh Saj for them to try. It was hot and amazing. All the meat on the platter had great flavor. The rice was delicious, flavorful, and extremely plentiful. The hummus was good. The tabbouli was very fresh with a nice citrus flavor. The platter came with falafel, Saj, sauces, small cups of lentil soup, plates of pickled veggies (2 types of cabbage, jalapeños), along with olives, onion, cucumbers, and lettuce. The fresh baklava was absolutely amazing. To cut the sweetness they gave us some delicious black tea to finish the meal. We all loved Babylon and will be going back whenever we're in the area.

It contains a generous portion of sliced chicken breast on a pillowy soft sub roll laced with Boom-Boom sauce, a mild to very moderately spicy concoction. The parking is plentiful. There are several outdoor tables as well as a couple of indoor ones. All around the Market are the most stunning rolling corn fields, pastures, impossibly green pastures, and majestic mountain vistas. The next afternoon, I popped in for some takeaway brisket, pulled pork, and freshly made cole slaw. Amazing!! The tomato based BBQ pork sauce is perfectly spicy and sweet. The brisket BBQ sauce has a dark rich smoky flavor. The cole slaw is beyond perfection. Crunchy, fresh, and not over-saturated in dressing. A superb take-home and heat up meal. I put the pork and the brisket in a cast iron skillet with a pan as a lid and heated it in the oven for 30 minutes at 325 degrees (always check your internal meat temperatures, of course). The chocolate cupcakes with chocolate icing are also delicious. The cake is light and fluffy and the icing is just the perfect sweetness. It is a true pleasure to go to the Sunrise Market & Deli.
