First of all, know that Babylon is a market that happens to make delicious food. There are about 4 small tables inside and several more outside. As far as a Middle Eastern market it's pretty typical. They make the best of the shelf space by stocking them to the max. If you've never spent time in the Middle East then it may seem cluttered, but this is normal for this type of store. There were 4 of us and we ate inside. The absolute stars of Babylon are the food and the people. The gentlemen working were very helpful with the menu and super attentive to anything we might need. They're from Kurdistan and were all very very nice. The food was wonderful. We got 2 large sample platters, large hummus, and a small tabbouli salad. One of the gentlemen heard me telling my friends how they make the Saj bread, within minutes he brought out a large fresh Saj for them to try. It was hot and amazing. All the meat on the platter had great flavor. The rice was delicious, flavorful, and extremely plentiful. The hummus was good. The tabbouli was very fresh with a nice citrus flavor. The platter came with falafel, Saj, sauces, small cups of lentil soup, plates of pickled veggies (2 types of cabbage, jalapeños), along with olives, onion, cucumbers, and lettuce. The fresh baklava was absolutely amazing. To cut the sweetness they gave us some delicious black tea to finish the meal. We all loved Babylon and will be going back whenever we're in the area. read more

The restaurant/ store was busy with door dash, regulars, first timers, eat in and take out orders but the service was attentive and the food came quickly. We ordered the Babylon Special to taste a bit of everything, as we were the first timers. Our plate came with bread, kebabs, flavorful rice, chicken and beef swarma, a "salad " plate and few sauces. The meat was all flavorful. The kebabs were moist , I liked the chicken best and my husband liked the beef best. The bread was amazing with a pocket to fill! We were recommended the beef swarma wrap and we know why yum! The sauces topped it off nicely. We had no space for dessert but it all looked yummy! We will be back! read more

What a terrific wonderful Middle Eastern / Arab grocery store and delicious restaurant (order at the counter). The staff is so friendly and so helpful and the food was outstanding- Shawarmas, different plates of kebabs and meats and wonderful salad salads. This was a so good! We stopped on a road trip. Hubby had falafel, and they were so light and tasty, ensconced in a pillowy, freshly baked-in-house pita topped with tasty tebouli, hummus, babaganoush & veggies & mango sauce. I chose shawarma in a wrap with most of the same toppings as my husband. The gentleman briefly grilled my sandwich in a press, which was a nice touch. We ate at an outdoor table, and everything was amazing until the wind blew some things off the table, and as I bent to retrieve them, our dog immediately grabbed what was left of my sandwich and scarfed it down!! Kebob and rice looked pretty good, similar to the photos posted. I ordered the mixed shawarma, which came with bread (served cold in a paper bag), salad (stale and old looking options, limpy lettuce, tomato lacking any color or any of the juicy seedy parts, some almost tabouleh which was missing some key ingredients, but included lemon seeds! Crunch! At least that means fresh lemon juice?, crusted over baba and hummus) and fries(these were fresh from frozen, I watched them fry them). The meat was pretty dry and not very flavorful. Also, it looked to have been sitting around a while, not hot and steamy. Maybe Friday between lunch and supper (1:30) is the wrong time to expect hot fresh food? Price seemed pretty high, $35 for the two of us. 3-4 booths in front window for seating. This place is really an Arabic convenience store, lots of hard to find grocery items. I'm Lebanese, so found a lot of useful stuff. I'd give the store alone 4-5 stars for items available, esp in a small southern town! Possibly it's a bakery, too? They had some soft fresh flat breads, but we did not sample those. I would give their food another chance and try something different. Maybe go in summer when fresh veggies are less expensive and more available. read more

Tons of great food, beverages, and a small grocery section of delicious items. I watched the three guys in the kitchen cook, and they make everything in house; I especially enjoyed watching them bake bread. The service was excellent as well, both from the guy taking my order, and the guy running the register. My dish would have easily cost two to three times as much at a sit-down restaurant, but this was just as good if not better for less than $12, with tax! We ordered the beef shawarma combos and were expecting moist and well seasoned beef, crispy fries, and fresh salad. We did not receive that. The beef was dry, underseasoned and unpleasant too look at. Salad looked good but tasted one note and underwhelming. Pita bread was soft and doughy, but in a way that tasted like it was reheated from frozen. Fries were limp and soggy. The quality here was absolutely unacceptable. Will not come back here. read more

Went to this place because it was one of the few places open on Christmas Day. Very glad I did. Had Baba Ghannoush and Shwarma. Both were delicious but the baba was exceptional. Smokey flavor seasoned just right and terrific with the flat bread. The service was cordial and I had an extremely pleasant extended conversation with the gentleman behind the register.
