There is no waiting. The longest you'll be in the waiting room is 3-5 minute. When you are there it feels like you are the only patient. They prioritize you comfort from numbering medication, blankets because the office is cold, pillows when you need to learn back, they'll even ask if you want to TV adjusted so you can see it. They provide detailed information about your oral health, they're suggested treatment plan with options and make sure you know how much every visit will cost. They are even looking out for you when you aren't in the office. They called me to see if I wanted to reschedule an appointment for a few weeks later because it would cost less under my insurance guidelines. I've never been so taken care of, been less nervous about, or received such excellent education and care as I have at Sweta Tailor. read more

I have been a patient in Dr. Tailor's practice for almost 10 years. Consistently receive outstanding care. The most recent example was the best. I'd chipped one of my teeth. Instead of requiring 2 visits - 1 to evaluate the tooth and 1 to fix it - Dr. Tailor suggested that I get some photos of the tooth to see if she could do a basic assessment. Which she did. As a result, my tooth was repaired just over 24 hours after the break. Many in her team have been with her since she opened this practice which shows how well she treats them. From the beginning, she respected my ortho's request that I have prophylactic antibiotics before all visits. She and her team explain in detail everything that is happening. During the pandemic, they even sent notices to the patients pointing out that with the additional protective gear they were wearing, the office was being kept colder than usual. So we could come prepared for the chill. Even though she's not in-network with my dental plan, I will always go to her for any dental needs. My first visit to this wonderful dental office was a joy. Wait time was minimal and Obi (yes, that's his name) showed me to an immaculate high tech chair and spent an hurried time checking out my concerns. Dr Tailor was warm and listened carefully to my dental history, remaining supportive and kind when I declined her offer for me to see X-rays. In general, I would say this is a top of the line dentist with empathy added. 4/30/2019 Dr. Sweta Tailor and her staff are great.  She had a very calm energy during my 4 visits in 1 week, and this same calmness applies to the rest of her staff.   I had not been to the dentist in a long, long time because I thought my teeth were fine, and because I have an aversion to dentists (too many visits as a pre-teen and adolescent), but they cured me of my fear.   Furthermore, I was leaving the state and losing my in-network dental coverage within a week, and they performed scheduling miracles to get the necessary work done in 5 days over 4 visits.  This went above and beyond any expectations I had. Finally, I feel that all of the work they did was great.  It wasn't the horrible visits I remember as a teenager :).  I will no longer be scared of the dentist. They busted through decades of my negative attitude regarding dental visits and demonstrated to me how important it is that you get proper dental care. Also notable, TVs over the chairs!  Makes it easy to just relax, ....i think i saw HGTV remodels in the Caribbean, very relaxing.  And I got a free toothbrush and floss. :) read more

I have been a patient at this practice for about maybe five years. I trust them and appreciate the work that they do. I had been avoiding my routine cleaning due to personal covid-19 precautions that I was taking. But damage to the mouth guard/retainer I use while sleeping pushed me to schedule an appointment this month. I was very pleased with all they are doing to prevent the spread of covid-19 in their practice. These are some of the things I noticed: they checked in with me multiple times to see if I had symptoms or was around anyone that had symptoms, I completed all paperwork at my house, they have high powered air filtration in each space, front desk is wearing masks, dental practitioners are wearing several layers of PPE (God bless them), there is a little contraption close to your mouth while you are getting work done to capture water droplets and they keep the office cooler so they aren't sweating under all that PPE. They did have a new dentist join the practice since the last time I went and she is just as great as Dr. Tailor. I'm thankful my retainer is working again, my jaw isn't as tight, my teeth are clean and we are all staying safe. read more

When you first meet Dr. Tailor, you'd think her name is Dr. Sweet Tailor - she is just this sweet, soft spoken Indian woman. But then she went all Freddy Kruegger in my mouth - seemed to actually take the enamel off my teeth she was scraping so hard with her steel claws (or that metal hook thing). I thought I would need a blood transfusion afterwards - I'm exaggerating only somewhat. I do grind my teeth, and it had been almost a year since my last appointment. Still, it's been a while since someone used that thing which should be banned, with such physical force. Dr. Tailor was extremely knowledgeable, and I did learn several things....she just didn't have that soft touch that mirrored her gentle demeanor. I just don't believe you have to scrub and scrape so hard with the metal hook of death to have clean teeth, and my last few dentists I think have proved this. And to echo Laura's sentiments, the X-ray machine is that terrible thing that i haven't used in what seems like 10 years - where you have to jam these large pieces of plastic 15 times into your mouth that make you want to gag and cut your gums at the same time - just horrendous piece of equipment that I think is used for torture in some pig-me countries. read more

Dr. Tailor explains the options available to me, helps me make a decision, & then explains what she's doing to my teeth as she's doing it. Her diagnosis was also much more reasonable than a different dentist; they wanted to do like $7K worth of work, and Dr. Tailor was all, "Nah, we can just do this instead, & it'll just be a few hundred." Her receptionist, Sandy, is great, too, always responding quickly to my emails, remembering my personal preference for early morning appointments & even getting in touch to change my appointment time if an early morning becomes available. You can receive appointment reminders via text message &/or email, which is quite convenient. I'm quite satisfied with Dr. Tailor as my dentist. One of the best doctors i have come across since i've left India. Shes really honest, which is rare now a days. I was given a long list of treatments to be done by my previous dentist, which i personally thought was not required. After taking a second oppinion from Dr.Tailor i was sure about it and got away with only deep cleaning and removing cavities from a tooth. Her assistant (forgot her name, but i will update soon) is also very good in what she does, and has very good knowledge. And guess what, she infact said that my teeth are perfect and there is nothing that needs to be done, in compare to Advance Dental Care austin, who suggested a $3k treatment. Highly recommended!! Dr. Tailor is the first private-practice dentist I've visited that hasn't been based in a teaching facility and it was an absolute pleasure. One of the most difficult things about moving somewhere new is finding doctors (primary, eye, dentist, etc.) that compare to your old ones. Her staff was extremely nice and did a great job explaining everything that they were doing/checking in my mouth. They appear to have a great electronic medical records system, which is a huge step up from the paper-based system at my old dentist. As a UT Graduate student, I had opted for the UT Select Delta Dental insurance plan. The entire cost of X-rays, prophylaxis, and cleaning was completely covered by the insurance. The optional fluoride treatment was the only thing not covered and it was only $20. If you're a UT student looking for a dentist that takes your insurance, I highly recommend Dr. Tailor. read more

Let me first say that this is my first Yelp review, and I feel really strange publicly endorsing things with my face and name attached, but I had such a good experience here that I actually felt compelled to do so! I, like pretty much everyone else on the planet, hate going to the dentist, but Dr. Tailor and her staff made my appointment a remarkably pleasant experience - yes, they still stuck drills and xray pieces and sharp hooks in my mouth, but it wasn't any more uncomfortable than usual. In fact, both Dr. Tailor and the hygienist went out their way to make me comfortable, taking into account my TMJ which makes it difficult to keep my mouth open for long periods of time. Everyone I met was also genuinely friendly and kind, and there was a complete lack of the judgey attitude that I'm used to from dentists - no pointed questions about how often I floss, no lectures of any kind. As someone who procrastinates on dentist appointments because I'm afraid I'll have gum disease or cavities or need a root canal, I really appreciated how matter of fact they were in evaluating and cleaning my teeth (there were no problems, for the record - my only diagnosis so far is out of control hypochondria. Self-diagnosed of course). The only snag was when the hygienist accidentally popped out the end of my permanent bottom retainer while flossing, but she and Dr. Tailor were able to glue it back on very quickly with no problems. They also loaded me up with samples - when I mentioned I'd been using Biotene toothpaste and mouthwash due to canker sores, I was given samples of both, as well as the pointy threading floss that they used to floss under my retainer. Finally, I received both a follow up email and letter in the days following my appointment, a very professional gesture which I appreciated. It seems like Dr. Tailor takes a lot of pride in her work and wants to build a good relationship with her clients, and she hires people who have the same attitude. Unfortunately, I'm moving abroad before I'm due for my next check up, so I won't be able to come back, but I highly recommend Dr. Tailor to anyone who is looking for a new dentist in the area! read more

I've bounced around lots of different dentists in my life and few have the combination of the friendliness, expertise, and modern facilities that Dr. Tailor has. She is always very welcoming and actually remembers who I am. Her assistants are also very courteous and I feel do a good job of my usual routine cleaning. I feel very at ease discussing any issues I have and she seems to give great advice. I think she also pays very close attention to the details of her work. I was in her old office before (about 1-2 yrs ago) and it was nothing special but the new office is amazing! I love the modern look and openness of it all. It's just a remarkable calming ambiance compared to all my previous dentists and their confined rooms. I would readily recommend Dr. Tailor to my friends. I tried Dr. Tailor's office for the first time and I will say that I enjoyed the visit. First - I did not make things easy for her staff in returning their calls promptly (sorry), but they were very nice when I showed up and made it a point to get all my paperwork in order - prior to treatment. The front desk staff really went above and beyond in my opinion to ensure that I didn't have a bill at the end of the service and I really appreciate that. The hygienist was very thorough and as others have noted - explained everything in great detail. The subtraction of a one star is only because they still use the old style xrays that scratch your gums all up. I think the bitey plastic things are gross and prefer the newer digitized gum xrays that some offices have. But, even with that said I would recommend the office to my loved ones. Not to be forgot the Dr. was quite nice and spent time answering my questions. A+ to the team for not hassling me into buying the fluoride treatment or whitening gel. I was able to ask questions and I never felt like they were making a hard sell to get me to buy anything. I'll go back in six months and hope that in 3 years when I need new x-rays that the machine is upgraded. read more

The bait and switch: I've been using Dr. Tailor for years, but lately, there have been some changes. Money, not dental health, has become the priority of this dental practice. I set an appointment and was quoted a slightly discounted price since I'm over 65 and have no dental insurance. This price was verified by Dr. Tailor according to her receptionist. Just two days before my appointment, David, their office manager informed me there would be an additional $30 charge! I canceled the appointment. Will $30 kill me? No. It was the bait and switch pricing that put me off. It seems Dr. Tailor and her office manager are much more interested in the almighty dollar than in their patient's dental health. This is a re-review of my favorite dentist ever! She's still the best!
