I just absolutely have loved Swenson's since I've been introduced to it. However, it's amazing on a good day and then on a bad day, well it's a costly loss. It seems every time I have an order of food for more than one person, the order always gets botched. Typically I stop alone for myself and I have no issues, but when I am getting food for a group of people (4 people worth of food) it's always messed up. Tonight's order was a little messed up, thankfully we noticed before we drove too far missing food from our order, but then assuming the food they were bringing us to fix the mistake was correct, getting home and it was just a mess. When you pay for a double loaded cheeseburg where every add on costs a price, and end up with a single cheeseburg with half slice of cheese and so much ketchup the bread was mush. Costed us a loss in money. Fries were cold and stale, seems like this food was previously made for someone else before we even ordered and then given to us. At that point, you don't want to drive to the same restaurant 3 times when you're hungry so we are dealing with it today but about $5 loss in food and reconsidering coming here for larger orders aside from a one person order. I hope this locations steps up their game cause it'd be a shame to lose it from bad quality and lesser customers because of it. I really like Swensons and typically crave it from time to time, so I would like for our community to enjoy it without terrible quality and losing money. read more

Grew up nearby. Stopped in for lunch many times during college. Still my favorite under 10 bucks burger in the world. Great taste, plenty of toppings, toasted buns and plenty of cheese. To start this used to be my favorite place to grab a burger. The burgers used to be fantastic(and the patties still are). But this year(2023) every time i have went through I've gotten sub par quality. I wouldn't be leaving this review if it was one off. What do i mean by sub par quality? What I'm referring to is how the prices have went up while the end product (my meal) has progressively gotten worse. 3/3 of my 2023 visits i have received a lesser quality burger then in the recent years. For instance, the most recent time I dined I got the smallest piece of welting lettuce on my burger(+30 cents up-charge for lettuce) and It's not just the lettuce.... I'm leaving this review in the hopes that the new "standard" of quality that the kitchen is producing will be addressed. I'm surely not the only long time costumer who has these feelings. read more

Super fast service. Car hop at window before I put the car in park! Nice friendly servers and super good burgers. My hubby must have the Galley Boy! Love their potato teasers. Similar to a tater tot but with cheese and jalapeño bits. Lots of variety of sandwiches , salads and even dinners. Not fancy but great "eat in your car" or take home food! Gotta try 'em! read more

Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the steak sandwich. Thought it would be similar to a steak em. It was a quality steak, and you order it cooked like a regular steak. Very tender and tasty. I like the cheese sauce on the cheeseburger as well, it is very thick, so it stays on the sandwich. $37 for three steak sandwiches, two double cheeseburgers and two galley boys. 30 minutes for a Galley Boy is not acceptable. Come to find out they took in a large catering order right at lunch time and didn't have the courtesy to at least warn us it was going to be a long wait. I was there last Sunday and I have to say the two guys working the outside were excellent with a capital E. Fast is the word. They knew the menu when we had a question. I was expecting a little more from the food. It was just like fast food. And 60cents for a cup of ranch? Are you kidding me? I didn't like the onion rings. They reminded me of Burger King. After reading all the hype about Swenson's we couldn't wait to try it. We went there on Saturday at 2:00 for a late lunch and they were very busy - good sign, right? We found a parking spot, studied the menu online (couldn't see it from our parking spot), decided what we wanted, turned on our headlights and waited. Waited some more. Kept waiting, over 10 minutes, while other cars pulled in and got service immediately - one car right next to us! I couldn't help but wonder if there was some secret hand or light signal we were missing... Finally a spot opened up by the building so we pulled in there and FINALLY someone came to take our order. We both got burgers and split some onion rings. The onion rings were delicious, and I'll go back just for those. The burgers were okay, but nothing special. Admittedly, we didn't get a Galley Boy, but still.... We'll go back, hope for better service next time, and try the Galley Boy and shakes before we decide whether or not this place is a keeper in our fast food rotation. Been out of state for a year and a half. Swensons was on my list of places to go - short list. Very disappointed. Portions seem small and fries were horrible- ate like 2 of them and couldn't continue. They were cold and nasty - cooked in fryer where grease had not been changed and it was at early lunch. Gross. Not too many places these days were you can get service to your car. My date and I went this summer on a POURING down evening, but their staff was still prompt to the car with friendly, quick service. Gotta give props to their high energy. Everyone who joins Yelp in this area should immediately go to Swensons and slap down a 5 star. This is what this area is known for. I grew up on it, as an adult, I ventured out to the rest of the US and have tried many many burgers. Odd that In-N-Out gets soooooooooo much praise for being family owned and refusing to franchise. Swensons is the same way. They cannot spread their area because they deliver the meat fresh daily (from Michigan). Now that I've set the scene, let me tell you that Swensons burgers are the best I've ever had. Period. Everytime I eat a burger, I question where it ranks in my top 10. I just moved back to Canton from Los Angeles. I had a Swensons burger, and knew that was it. People swear by the galley boy, but just rock a cheeseburger for flavor. Taste the burger, the bun, and the sweet heavenly joy that fills your mouth. This is a burger that you do not need to over-do. I travel a lot, and use Yelp to check out local places, often times for burgers. My only wish for this review, is that it catches someone doing the same thing, and that this review pushes you to go try this out. I was told this was an Ohio staple. I am from Texas so a friend compared the concept to in n out. This was clearly no comparison... an overhyped burger joint. The patty had an overpowering sweetness to it. Brown sugar I've been told. You cannot mix sweet with salty. I got the galley boy as well as the regular cheeseburger. If you have taste buds, you may want to try else where. I had high expectations for this place but I was highly disappointed. The strawberry milkshake was also a miss for me. By looking at its hot pink color, I already knew I was in for a ride. There was so much syrup mixed in that it lost its shake consistency. In all honesty, I'd rather go to McDonald's. read more

We did not receive menus and they just told us to order in 2 minutes or they would call the cops. I have never ever had such awful service at a restaurant. The best burger anywhere! Something about the cheese melted on the bottom makes this more delicious than any burger elsewhere. The galley boy is highly recommended. They offer a great variety on the menu and I love the zucchini instead of the fries. The Florida drink is amazing as are the milkshakes! Old school drive in where you can eat in your car. I LOVE Swensons and have never had a bad meal there until last night. Nothing was hot and everything seemed dried out and old. The fries, nuggets and potato teasers were soggy and cold and tasted like fish. Seems like the fryer was not hot enough and oil needs changed. Downright nasty! Other people had to have complained.
