Gel manicure
Jacqueline P.

I came to the salon with a reservation of dip powder gel ($70) and was told that unless my nails were broken/fragile, it'd be better for me to get normal gel manicure. So I followed their recommendation and agreed to it. But instead of charging the gel price ($60) I was charged the full $70. I knew it was their policy to charge the full price if I changed my mind, but this change was actually recommended by the nail technician! Although they did my nails nicely, I feel defrauded.

Elina did a Japanese gel on my nails with ombré and glitter. I kept my nails natural and did not opt for extensions. I really love the result! They are so beautiful. Elina did an excellent job of replicating the photo I showed her for inspiration. She was also very gentle with my nails and was easy to talk to. I would definitely recommend this salon!

Now that we are emerging on the other side of Covid I have been heading back out for manicures again. I've switch up and am now getting gel manicures. The quality provided at this salon has not declined at all. The last time I went in my nails held up for five weeks (I only lost one nail a couple days before I was heading back to get them redone). The nail art I got the last time was great as well. Nalee is amazing!

Honey Gel + Complicated Nail Art

I am absolutely in love with Sweety Salon and the entire staff. Everyone does amazing work and takes care of your nails. The salon is extremely clean and well ventilated. I know they use high quality products and gel because my nails last 1 month+ without any chipping, despite always getting complicated nail art which requires multiple coatings of gel. I started going to the salon a few months ago and I have experienced tremendous nail growth without any damage to my natural nails. I usually see Nalee or Sunny for my monthly honey gel + complicated nail art. Nalee and Sunny are two of the nicest nail techs and people, in general. They take their time with removing and re-adding gel. I always provide such extra nail art designs, but somehow they always come through and exceed my expectations. I absolutely like them both and get excited whenever it's time to get my nails done. Sue, the owner I believe, is also so kind and accommodating! The price is aligned with the quality and service provided. I always try to tip well because of the attention to detail. I'm not the biggest fan of the dry pedicure, but they do offer this service and it's good. My pedicures don't always last as long as I'd like them to, but they still do a good job given it is dry v. Wet.

Had my nails filed short because the index on my right hand pretty much broke off right before getting my nails done

Sweety has been my nail salon for almost 3 full years! I've never had a complaint about my nails. My gel nails easily last 5 weeks with zero to minimal chips. I usually take a few months of break just to let my nails breathe but I always come back. I had a Harry Potter design when I went to universal studios (by nahlee who I love talking to) and amazing 9D cats eye nails (literally eye catching- people would just stare at my nails). When the owner is in, she always knows who I am and asks how law school is which is such a nice feeling that she remembers who I am :) I got a gel manicure right before quarantine so I'm growing it out. But Nahlee did an amazing job and after 5 weeks I have no chips or lifting! Attaching more recent nail pics

Reference pic, but I couldn't get the 3d nail on the thumbs.

I used to love Sweety but I guess I can't do so anymore. Jenna, who used to be my technician is not here anymore. I would state the point of my long review here: do not book with Kelly!!!! Be aware many of talented Sweety techs went back to Korea or left the city. Pretty disappointed how they've changed over the past year while they've been through Covid. Since I moved out to Jersey from NYC during the pandemic, visiting Sweety was also a while for me, also I spent an hour to get to Sweety. I had an appointment with Kelly and I showed her the reference pic which required 3d thumb nails and all different colors for the rest of 4 nails each hand. They charged $2 per extra colors, ok I didn't think it's good but it was acceptable. I remember they said they charge $15 for 3d nails so I was like ok. But Kelly simply messed up coloring the 3d thumbs and I didn't want to pay for poor nails. Who wants to waste their money? She tried to place chain around the edge of thumb nails but it was shorter than it was supposed to be so didn't fully cover the edge and looked weird. I told her the way I wanted to be fixed and she tried few times, then made kind of tired face. Then she said "I can just remove if you don't like your thumbs", ok fine so i said yes please. Then she said "if you are free tomorrow I can finish your thumbs tomorrow" ......????what you saying? If I say no I'm not free tomorrow then were you just gonna kick me out even though your work is not done? Apparently she said that because she was worried about the next appointment customers who were waiting next to me, but yes I'm also a customer who pays and I still think she said pretty dumb thing to me to get the next customers. The rest of work was also pretty mess. I changed my mind to place one charms each on my thumbs, usually Sweety staffs ask me on which part of the nail I'd like to put it. Kelly? Nah this lady didn't ask me anything. Just on the middle, no communication. She didn't ask any of my opinion, she just rushed, applied top coat and just finished! I paid $95 including tips (I really didn't want to tip her but yeh it's not for the outcome, it's for her time) so it def was not cheap nails but what I experienced was HORRIBLE. If she didn't mess up the 3d nails in the first place, she didn't need to tell me the dumb thing and I didn't need to see her rushing to get her next customer. Shitty experience ever. Adios Sweety, as long as Kelly works there I would not be back ever again.

I had an awesome experience with Sweety Nails: fast, cozy, glorious and long-lasting result! I used to the fact that shellac on my nails chips in 5-9 days. Whatever Japanese brand they are using in Sweety Nails, I am going to ask for it again!!!!! My nails perfectly lasted me for over 2 weeks, with me washing the dishes, hiking, cooking, and climbing through the forest. Yet, I strongly suggest to go there only by appointment. They are extremely busy. The place was full in the middle of the day on Monday. And it might be a bit more pricy than other places. But their work cost every single penny!!! Photo - my nails after 2 weeks.

Look how natural and pretty they look. The end result could not be better, so so thankful for them fixing my nails!

After having gone to another nail salon that did a terrible job doing my acrylic extensions, I called Sweety Nails and they were able to squeeze me in last minute. I called and got an idea of how much I would be paying for removing my set and getting a new one. The total came out to 140 but honestly was worth every penny . The nail technician Rina was nothing but pleasant and accommodating. Rina took her time perfecting my extensions and even though I often tensed my hand making it difficult for her to do her job she was always nice to point it out. She was so patient and professional, wouldn't ask for anyone better. If you're looking for a spot to become a regular look no more, this is your spot!

Great service and beautiful designs. Everything is reaching my expectations. A little pricey but worth it. Recommend!

This is for my 9/18 visit in the new location. I moved to Brooklyn in February and luckily found this place pretty quickly and really loved the time and detail they took in doing your nails. I don't want to take that away from them, they are great at doing nails and designs.... most of the time. I was very disappointed in my last visit. I text at 10am to make an appointment. I was confirmed for 3:30 which was prefect. I showed up at 3:28 and there was 1 girl getting just started, another what looked to be finishing up and another getting a pedi. The ladies that work there said hi and I took a seat to wait.... and wait... and wait. Not for 15 mins, not 30 but an hour! Not once was I acknowledged to say sorry or reschedule, nothing. The only reason I stayed is because 1. I had paid for the parking so I would have paid for nothing to just leave. 2. They took me after 45mins to wrap my nails in foil to get my old gel off. Which kind of traps you into staying. So one of the ladies does the foil on my nails after wrapping the other girl's nails and then goes back to her. So again I'm just sitting waiting until another 15 mins go by, we are at the hour mark now 4:30. At this point the girl getting the pedi is done and moved on to getting a mani. And the girl getting the design is still getting the design (!) and just laughing it up joking, while I have been waiting and wasting my time. Finally I get seen, only to be told that she will start me off and one of the other girls is going to finish my nails. Wait, what? At this I ask how much longer am I going to wait because you know it's been over an hour. She looks up and just gives me a look and just makes huh noise and says not much longer. Then I say you know I could have been texted to say they were running behind and again she really doesn't say anything, just 'oh well you know' ad trails off. Another thing I really disliked: I was asked if I wanted to cut my nails, I have long talon nails (pointy), I said half and to keep the shape. She does not file, she cuts the lazy way in my opinion when they cut on the sides. I always felt like it makes the nails feel rough and thin. And she cut way too much length off. It was definitely more the half. She did ask if I liked the shape, I didn't but I said yes because honestly I was so sad at this point and didn't think they would actually care. So she hurriedly cuts, shapes and sort of files my nails while making small talk ONLY to bring up that she was an hour late because the customer before me couldn't decide what design she wanted and that she had been a customer for 5 years and she thought she had scheduled enough time in- between us.... Are you serious??? So because I have only been going for 7 months I deserve to have sat there for over an hour? I followed them from their midtown location to the Lower east side back to midtown and I live in Brooklyn so basically you told me I don't matter as a customer. And it's not like I'm some cheap customer either I have spent a minimum of 50-100 on my nails there before. She does my nail polish, I had black nail polish on, I don't think it was taken off properly. You actually see a streak of it still on my thump nails over the red. And the kicker, she didn't finish my nails! The lady who put foils on finished the top coat because another customer walked in and she went to start her. Must have been another 5 year customer. So I got there at 3:30 and left at 5:15, for a 30 min gel manicure. Yup you read that right I spent almost 2 hours for only to have 30 mins of actual work done. My mani was 35, my parking was 34. Again there was no sorry we made you wait, no discount, nothing. It was a waste of time and money and I felt so disrespected and unhappy with my nails. I walked out of there not wanting to return.

Excited to have found this place near my office. Gel manicure was amazing and they have lots of designs and Jenna was very talented. I will surely be coming back. I thought pricing was fair for the quality of these manicures and not to mention they don't use shellac or Cnd or Essie and it lasts Just wanted to say after ten days still not one chip they look like I just got them done yesterday!

This was my first visit. Hanna did an amazing job! She did my nails very carefully. Definitely will go back every 2 weeks for the refills

This is a cute nail salon! Stumbled across it online and decided to go. I got a dry pedi and a mani. The service was great, but the quality of the polish is not so great. I got my nails done on Friday (almost 3 days) and my nail polish is chipping from my mani - the pedicure polish is holding up nicely. If I were to return, I'd try the gel mani - but I never paid for a manicure and it not last one week - this polish barely made it.

3 weeks!

How much is the sns powder manicure and pedicure?

A manicure is 50 but it's 10% off if you pay in cash. I have no clue about pedicures

What kind of gel do they use?

How much is a gel manicure (and nail art)?

Came here for my first appointment in September and did my touch up in late October. It has been a…read moremonth since I got my touch up and my brows look great! This was my first time getting any type of PMU and it's really one of those things where you just had to trust the process. My brows faded pretty badly after my first appointment, and when I did my touch up, I thought the pigment wouldn't stay again but I was wrong and the pigments slowly reappeared after around a month! I waited 4 months to get this appointment (I can only make it to the 5pm appointments because of work and hence the longer wait time) and it was absolutely worth it! She has really strict rules with the aftercare (can't wash hair for a week and can't let steam or water get onto the face) but your brows will turn out great as long as you follow them! Hopefully they will last long! Will definitely come back for my future touch ups!

I've been a client of this place for a few years. And the recommendations she makes changes with my…read moreskin and how my brows naturally fade over the months and years were always top level. The place is clean and comfortable--which is perfect because the amount of time needed to get that perfect brow, you'll want a comfy place to sink into since you be here for at least an hour. From the early times of plotting my brow design to the different hues of my refresher, she is as detail oriented regardless of what stage you are at with your eyebrows. Her recommendations match your skin texture and your undertones. I wanted something that was dark, but now "wow you have new eyebrows" and not something that can fade into blue or purple over the years. So we started off light and the next time around we went a shade darker. I think best of all, she went over aftercare and how to maintain the shape of my brows -- I am no longer plucking or waxing my brows and now use a shaver and I'm never looking back.
