I've been to every nail salon in the area and beyond. Relax Nails has been my go-to for 2 years and I wouldn't recommend going anywhere else. I get UV gel tips which is a very specific service, and there are TWO techs at Relax that do it perfectly - this makes scheduling very flexible for me, which I love. As far as quality, at other salons, I get breakage, pop-offs, and generally nails that are too thick & unnatural-looking. My nails from Relax look perfect and last at the very least 3 full weeks. The manicure itself is always done with great detail and I never have pop-offs or breakage afterwards. I get constant compliments, even when I'm in desperate need of a fill! Additionally, Relax has a generous points & rewards system and I've claimed many a free pedicure. The reason why this salon is busy is simply because they are the best around and are worth it. I had an alright overall experience at Relax Nails. The workers were very nice and I was quickly able to do a walk-in appointment. I needed a gel manicure and the price was pretty reasonable, at $32. Not the cheapest you'll find in the city, but not the most expensive either. Pros: 1. You can opt in for their rewards program and if you become a regular you rack up points toward free manicures and pedicures. 2. While my gel was drying under the UV, I got a free quick massage. 3. The workers were all incredibly kind, and they took great care of my nails when cutting and buffing. Cons: 1. The gel work on my nails was pretty messy. The edges were a little all over the place and I was continually having to tell the nail tech that she was missing spots on my thumbs and forefingers. 2. My nails had a very acrid taste and smell for a day after I got my manicure, and the smell wouldn't wash off. Overall, I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to come back again but my experience was fine. read more

While the tech was sweet and did a decent job, this place is STUPIDLY EXPENSIVE for what they're actually offering. $80+ for a gel Mani+ reg Pedi on a credit card is about average in this area but other places are far nicer for that price or even less. Additionally, my nail tech complete rushed through everything. She didn't shape my nails. I feel like my experience at Relax Nails was anything but relaxing. While I understand that it is a small space with limited seats, it felt like it was a fight to get anything done there. It's hard to communicate with there because of the sound level and chaos of many people moving a small place. I booked my services through the Snailz app. Even though my appointment was for 6:30, my appointment didn't start until much later, which was fine since it was clear that they were busy. My friend and I tried to explain that we had prepaid certain services on Snailz, but I don't it was fully understood by anyone outside of the owner what that meant. I think there was an additional level of miscommunication with my attendant. She would clip and buff things anywhere without putting anything down and leave them there. In fact, she removed my gels in multiple places around the salon and left a trail of gel shaving, including around the drying area and when we were finally able to grab a table for my manicure. She lotioned and applied cuticle cream to my hands multiple times after cutting my nails, and when she set them down, she put them directly on the shavings and gel remenants, which inventiably got stuck onto my hands with the lotion being on it. There was also a weird moment when she just stopped working because she wanted me to checkout on Snailz. This was right before she put in the color for my manicure, and even the owner was a little confused. The owner presented her with the tip part from the register in cash, but after that she seemed to rush through my appointent (I tipped 20%), and I feel that my nails look a little patchy. I don't even think she even put a top coat on, and one of my nails already chipped in less than 24hr. I also noticed today that she cut one if my toe nails at a 45 degree angle, so it looks off-kilter. There are many similarly priced salons in the surrounding area where I have significantly better experiences. I would go to one of those instead. If you do insist in coming here, I would actually NOT recommend using the Snailz app. They have better deals in the salon (even on the weekends.) In fact, by using the app, I got charged $7 for gel removal instead allegedly $5 when you pair it with another service (according to my attendant, but the owner said $7 was right, so who knows ‍) The one redeeming factor is that everyone was really nice, but I feel it doesn't make up for the hygiene and quality. read more

To be honest, I won't be going back. I paid $83+tip for SNS + extensions a few days ago and the dip is already lifting. Typically SNS bonds to my nails with quite some permanence bc I have paper thin nails so this rarely ever happens to me before 3 weeks. I imagine if you have stronger nails/nails that naturally produce more oils, then lifting will happen even faster. Also - very important - they did not soak my nails at all. They just pushed the dry cuticle back with a tool (ouch!). I really expected more for the amount of money I paid. I gave it 2 stars bc Sara did work really hard on making sure my shape was correct and the dip wasn't too thick. All in all I don't think that it was necessarily the work that was bad, I think it's the quality of products that were used (or weren't used) that determined the quality of the manicure. read more

So I made the mistake of returning here because the salon I planned to go to was closed. I have to say Sarah was extremely nice and accommodating in trying to help me find the right color. However, the older woman with glasses who did my gel manicure did a horrendous job. My nails are all different shapes despite requesting they be filed square many times. The polish was also applied very sloppily with missing color on the sides and then top coat all along the outside of my nail and fingers. There's are already scratches all over the nails and most of them are lumpy. I have nice nails but they just look like dull, disgusting blobs when I paid extra to have gel done to be shiny. I would file off the polish immediately when I get home if I didn't pay as much as I did. This ruined my already bad day but I definitely learned my lesson this time. Go anywhere else.
