I've been pretty satisfied coming to Nail One. Mimi and the staff are very attentive and Mimi does an excellent job with design. She also fixed up one of my broken nails as if it never happened. And she made it look so simple. It was my first time getting nails with design and I wasn't sure if was a look for me. Glad I've tried it. Sometimes I'm afraid to step out of my comfort zone but I'm glad I tried it out. It wasn't scary after all. And I've been wearing the blue back to back. I love it. I knocked off one star because I noticed a slight discoloration on the side of my index finger after the appointment. It may have been caused by friction from the electric file or from filing too close to the skin. I had a similar mark on my middle finger from a previous nail service a month ago. I didn't notice it until the end of the appointment, but it's noticeable now that I'm home especially when I press on the area on the skin it might have been bruised. I'm hoping it fades with the help of an ointment. It's not so bad I wouldn't come back. I do speak up and let them know. I'll just have to be more aware and focus next time. I booked an appointment and when I arrive they said they can't do the manicure I wanted because they didn't have time so I had to do a normal manicure. What is the point of making an appointment in advance? I received an SNS mani and at first it seemed perfectly fine until around a week and a half later. The ends are starting to lift and my hair keeps getting caught underneath my nail polish! I always get sns manicures and this never happens with my other salons until maybe week 2 or even 3. It's just not a great nail salon overall. They also have the MOST LIMITED SNS color options I have ever seen. They maybe have around 25 options. Usually my salons have more than 60. I was looking for a place in midtown with decent prices that wasn't a hole in the wall and this place is it. The salon is small, but it's very clean and the service was great. I went in for gel removal and a regular mani with paraffin, they didn't have paraffin at the time but offered the keratin glove manicure. First off, I really appreciate how gentle they were with removing the gel. They did the typical soak off, but they didn't scrape and peel the nail. They used files and were very gentle. Joanne started my gel removal and Helen finished it and did the manicure. Helen was very attentive and took her time to do a great job. She asked before cutting down my cuticles and she made sure to be careful and not cut roughly. She also made sure that the polish went on smoothly. Thank you, Helen! I would definitely revisit this salon. Prices are comparable to most other salons in Manhattan. I've been seeking a staple nail salon since I moved to this area and no other salon in this area (or anywhere else in the city, really!) has checked off all my boxes like this one. I never thought to layer colors before and Mina showed me a color combination that was exactly what I wanted. My nails and hands were meticulously and carefully handled, and the use of real aloe to moisturize my hands was an amazing touch. Mina and her sister are incredibly nice and really fun to talk to. Their prices are a little higher than most run of the mill salons ($15 for a manicure) but seeing as they do not charge extra for anything (i.e. longer lasting polishes), and considering their customer service, I'll gladly pay their prices. read more

I've experimented with many different nail salons in this area and Nail One is the only place that 1) has a long lasting gel manicure 2) genuinely cares about the health of your nails & doesn't ever rush through a manicure 3) is convenient for walk-ins My gel manicure lasted 3 WEEKS even though I naturally have brittle nails! I can tell that they use higher-quality products - it's so much more worth it to pay a little more here for a better quality/long lasting manicure. Their manicure process is very unique with many different steps, including an application of fresh aloe vera to prevent dry/cracked cuticles. You even get a massage during your manicure - it's a wonderful experience! I have been going to Nail One ever since it was recommended by one of my friends over two years ago and I have never had a bad manicure or pedicure, which is something to be said for a nail salon. She constantly surprises me with details of conversations we had months ago while I was getting my nails done and follows up to see how things are going. And it's not just me. She strives to connect with every customer on a personal level. Rosa and Helen, who have both done my nails, are also fantastic. They are extremely detailed oriented and incredibly sweet. The salon is very clean and they always try to color match you if for example you are getting a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. I never have to worry about what my nails are going to look like when I walk out of the salon. I know they will be perfect. I even got my nails done here for my wedding which should tell you that I trust them implicitly!
