Unbelievable service and just the most incredible cheesecakes my wife and I have had in a long time! We were so happy to discover this place on our last trip to LA and will make it a routine to come back every visit. The service was incredible, they showed such quality and care from the first hello greeting when we walked in trying to figure out what to order on the kiosk. What a fantastic gem. The arch-type of your friendly neighborhood sweet stop. The boba/bubble tea is fantastic. And the desserts (WOW!) I took a creme brûlée cheesecake to a party and it was everything anyone could talk about. There is a small parking lot mid-block on Fairfax Ave which you can pop in to order and pick up all the ambrosia! While the convenience and quality is stellar, really what brings me back here every time is the owner, Matt. He is so genuine, respectful and welcoming. After a few visits, he would recognize me and stop to talk to me and show a genuine interest in his customer. It took me back to the walks home after school and popping in to the neighborhood candy shop owned by ma and pa, such a warm and welcoming vibe which harbors a sense of community. My dear friend E recommended this place, proclaiming they serve the BEST boba in the city. We grew up together in Japan so I trust her judgement when she says the drinks and desserts are "sweet but not sweet" and we made a plan to meet up for a quick (not quick) snack break. It was a but noisy since the store is on a corner of a busy intersection but thankfully not crowded at the time we went. We were able to catch up after not seeing each other in person for several years, and yes, the boba tapioca was perfectly not too sweet and the texture...not chewy, not gummy, not undercooked...it was an absolute treat! We also tried (inhaled) the Horchata cheesecake, and sampled the taro and the matcha azuki cheesecakes but we were too full to finish them. The texture of the cheesecake is light, not as dense as a typical NY cheesecake, but heavier than Japanese "rare" cheesecake. We will come back the next time we're in LA! What first hooked me was the default non-dairy milk tea and boba. Big portions and super tasty with really fresh boba! But what really keeps me coming back are the desserts. These aren't your average grocery store cakes. Truly every single dessert I've tried has been spectacular! My personal favorites are the white chocolate raspberry bread pudding and Oreo cheesecake. After shopping at Whole Foods we decided to stop here for a quick treat and I was disappointed to see that they had kiosks instead of cashiers. I suppose that's the direction the world is going but as a small business you'd think they'd prefer people over self-checkout. I also didn't like that you can't see any of the pastries except for the photos they have on the kiosk menu. A big part of ordering is seeing the items in front of you so I felt like this took away from craving something. My son enjoyed his tea very much as well as playing Connect 4 so I will say that it was nice to sit al fresco with a drink and play games. I let the gentleman who was working know and that I actually wanted to add boba and he was so sweet and said no problem! I found this place on Yelp when I searched up desserts and realized this place was new. For starters, the 2 staff working there were extremely nice and helpful. I wish I got their names so I could give them a shoutout but it was 2 Latino guys. I went with some of their recommendations. 1. Key lime tart: This was good, I just wanted a stronger lime taste 2. Apple tart: Solid, I think anyone would enjoy this 3. Horchata Cheeseshake: This was sooo good! My favorite thing and this one was recommended by the staff. 4. Lychee strawberry green tea: I don't really like lychee but it was recommended and I was curious to try it, I also had my partner with me so if I didn't like it I could just give it to him. It was pretty good, the green tea taste was great and not burnt. BONUS!!! The workers gave us 2 complimentary warm cookies that were sooooo good! Thank you! So nice of y'all.
