I came here on a weekday, ordered a bowl and was impressed. The ingredients were delicious and fresh. The service was friendly and fast. The parking is terrible though. Street parking, small lot parking a few blocks away. It's a bit difficult to get to this place, ngl. That being said if you order by app or have someone in the car while you run in, it makes it easier. Good place for fresh food, lunch, dinner. A complaint though: I ordered extra sprouts in my meal, and the helping was not what I expected. Will probably stick to bowls with no extras and add my own stuff at home.

half a bag of Taro Chips

FYI - when ordering from this place via Uber Eats or Postmates, just be wary you're gonna get half a bag of chips, which you paid almost 7 dollars for. The Larchmont location provide provides more for what you paid.

why mark the fish veg?
Larry T.

Why did you mark "VEG" on the sweetbox with fish and leave the Plant-Based Sweetbox blank? On top of that it was an hour late [not sure if raw fish is safe to eat being that late]. I almost ate my co-workers order by mistake in addition to ruining my diet, good thing I'm vegan, no spoiled fish illnesses from late delivery. Okay team, here's your mission, just like out the movie Tropic Thunder, in the scene when Tom Cruise's character tells the big guy to punch the director in the face "really really hard". Just kidding, but you guys really screwed up. Disclaimer, food is actually quite good, even though everything else sucked.

Poké bar catering
Paula T.

This is some of the best catering I've seen from a company! Everything came so fresh and well prepared with all of the utensils needed. Not only did they have all of the catering items, they also included little paper signs to indicate what was what. I'll definitely be using them again for catering!

We decided to try out this place for dinner. Limited free parking which was being used for the people who were going to a club down the street. I approached the guy handling the parking and I asked him "isn't there parking for Sweetfin"? He said there was, so he gave me one of the spots after I told him I was just here for to go. Went inside and noticed the cute sitting area which was empty. In fact, the whole shop was empty except for the two people working. Since it was empty we were excited about that ASSUMING that we would get our food quickly. WRONG!! Apparently you can ONLY order on the app which was difficult to do and the lady behind the counter was busy preparing those orders first. We were FINALLY able to place our order on the app with no help from the woman behind the counter because she spoke NO ENGLISH. We couldn't even ask here a question regarding the menu!! There was a young woman on her break, so she didn't help at all. We finally get our order, get home, and discover that 1of the 2 small bowls was BARELY full. Way too much money to spend on that!! The "large" bowl should have been placed into the small bowl because that serving was also extremely small. What a waste of time, energy, and money to come to this place. NEVER AGAIN!!

Spicy Cucumber Salad

I love poké. I was craving some so I started looking to see what was close by. I'd seen Sweetfin before so I checked the menu and read a few reviews. I ordered something simple: a Spicy Tuna bowl and some spicy cucumber salad. I was able to select two kinds of fish even though I got the regular size. Let's get down to it. It was so very good. Crispy onion, edamame, cucumbers, peppers and wakame(extra$) over warm rice with tasty fish. I got sauces on the side that were nice. Everything was Just about as good as it could be. The cucumbers were so good I couldn't stop eating them. Crunchy, slightly sweet and spicy. I will definitely order again soon.

Hooked around the corner and a parking lot, you'll find the neighborhood's poke place. Not like other franchises, the people greeted you and offered a shaded-outdoor area for seating. Fish was fresh and had many selections. Poke was well mixed and tasted. This franchise offered a combo meal, where you can add a matcha drink and freshly made taro chips. A great vibed healthy and fast meal option.

B.Y.O.B. Poke Bowl

Ordered online for pickup for lunch and it was ready super quick! I got a small BYOB and it was just..too small. Like if i knew how small a small was going to be, a large would've been a no-brainer. But there was no medium option .. so rookie mistake. They definitely couldn't filled it up more, felt like I barely got any fish which was a bummer. However, it was really good so I can't give them less than 4 stars. Will probably get my sauces on the side next time because it was a bit overwhelming but otherwise, will return and get a large! Parking is fine since if shares a lot with Mixt. Not much to say about the ambience because it's a grab-and- go kind of place but cute decor regardless :)

This is a small- it's sooo small
Connie S.

So bad. Got a small poke bowl and it was the worst poke bowl I've ever gotten and it REALLY is a small. The rice was super mushy and had a odd taste. The fish was not fresh. There wasn't any ginger. Will never come here again. Don't waste your money

Never disappoints. I order the spicy salmon bowl. It is delicious!! Customer service is great, they're quick to have your order ready. There's a parking lot so you don't struggle with parking on sunset. If you love poke this place needs to be on your hit list.

Food - yummyyy super fresh. I got a preset bowl from their menu, the one with white truffle oil. Sounds odd not sure if it's unique or weird right? Let me tell you it's really good! It's not overpowering they know how to handle such a strong ingredient. Service - I went during COVID-19 to order and take it home. No wait very quick between ordering and receiving food. It's is very small inside though so be careful while you wait and other people come in to order or pick up food. They even have a restroom which was amazing! I feel like nobody has restrooms open now due to COVID. I went for a hike before this so I really needed it haha. Also they have a parking lot!

Doesn't taste anything like Hawaiian poke at all. I'm sure this appeals to some people but I wanted poke as it tastes in Hawaii.

It was such an unforgettable and refreshing experience. Chef Anita has such a vision. Every detail was well thought of, from the outdoor patio dining surrounded by olive bushes to the indoor wooden and oak touches with Fairouz playing overhead. What's even better is EVERY single dish is labelled clearly for allergy diners! AHHHH as a nut allergy girly this had me geekin. All the celiac diners can enjoy their dining experience without any triggering fears as well. I went with their famous Lebanese egg pie and my friend got the grilled salmon plate. We shared the ful mudammas, my fave dish. The gluten-free pita bread def changed my brain wiring. I don't enjoy gluten-free food, and I was drooling. The pita was pillow soft, like how do you do that? Magic, I tell you. The egg pie was SO special. Pillow soft as well and super filling. The flavors of every dish were legendary. We arrived midday on a Sunday and we're promptly sat, having been given the option for patio or indoor. We chose the patio, and between the clematis, lantana, and olive trees it is a very lovely setting in which to enjoy a meal. We were promptly brought a bottle of cold water and glasses, and our beverage orders were taken. I had a honey lavender latte with oat milk, and my husband had Lebanese coffee (no milk no sugar.) my latte was fragrant, the perfect temperature, and just the right amount of sweet. The Lebanese coffee was smooth, floral without being perfume, and excellent. We started with the falafel and the batata harra. Both absolutely excellent. For our entrees we selected the shakshuka and the Lebanese egg pie. Both were also excellent. Everything was well cooked, well presented, flavorful without being overwhelmed by any component. We took home a baklava tart, because we simply did not have the ability to eat more at the table. It was tender, moist, not too sweet, the pistachio flavor coming through as nutty and grassy, seriously so good! And it's worth noting, this whole restaurant is gluten free. I would not have realised if I had not known ahead of time. The texture of the pita with the shakshuka was exactly what one would expect, as was the bread of the egg pie. The pastry of the tart was flakey and delicious. And having said all of that, the service is what puts it above and beyond. Everyone was warm and pleasant, and seemed to genuinely appreciate the compliments. Staff seemed like they liked their jobs, which for me is always a good sign.

We received a warm & friendly welcome from Rasheeda (bartender). She was darling, as was our server, Mason. They were both fantastic. We settled into the cozy couches tucked in the corner and ordered several dishes to share: Hummus, Prosciutto Panino, Eggplant Panino, Mediterranean Eggs, Green Shakshuka, & Fries. Drinks consisted of: Nitro Cold Brew, Bloody Mary, Age of Aquarius, & a Lavender Gimlet. The fries were tossed with rosemary salt and came with garlic aioli & ketchup. The food was delicious, and we absolutely loved the music and atmosphere. Unfortunately, during a heatwave, the lack of AC made it really difficult to enjoy the experience. What bothered me most was seeing the staff literally pouring with sweat while working. We were just sitting at the table and were sweating, so I can only imagine how uncomfortable it was for them while constantly moving around and serving customers. I mentioned the lack of AC to the owner, and unfortunately, I felt like my concerns were dismissed rather than acknowledged. I completely understand that AC issues happen, but when it's that hot outside, I think the comfort and well-being of the staff should be a priority. That said, our server was incredible. She was kind, attentive, and professional and never complained once, even though it was obvious she was struggling with the heat. The food was genuinely amazing, and I would absolutely come back if the AC situation is addressed. I really hope the restaurant takes care of its staff and gets this fixed because otherwise, this could easily be a five-star experience.

Since they're open until 10:00 PM, we decided to stop by Masa of Echo Park for our very first visit. We called in advance to go over our options, and the people on the phone both times were fantastic--kind, helpful, and empathetic. They clearly explained the house policy: in-house deep dish orders have a 9:00 PM cutoff. Since we wouldn't make it in time for that, we placed a deep dish order over the phone to go and planned to eat a thin-crust tavern-style pie in the restaurant. For our dine-in pie, we ordered a tavern-style pizza split 1/2 Laguna (mozzarella, parmesan, and fresh basil) and 1/2 Baxter (pepperoni or veggie pepperoni, ricotta, house hot honey, mozzarella, parmesan, and fresh basil). We expected the Laguna side to come topped with fresh basil as described on the menu, but as you can see in the photos, we were served what was essentially just a plain 1/2 cheese pie on one side and 1/2 Baxter on the other. When we pointed out to the server that the Laguna half was missing its basil, she insisted it was a Laguna and claimed the Laguna doesn't come with basil. The server was kind enough to bring us a side of fresh basil to add ourselves. After we left, we looked back to the menu description (which explicitly lists mozzarella, parmesan, and fresh basil). While we appreciated the quick fix of the plentiful of fresh basil she brought us, it was frustrating that neither the kitchen nor the server simply owned up to the oversight. A quick apology and accountability go a long way--it's truly the difference between a 3-star and a 4-star experience, and it's what builds trust with first-time diners. Miscommunication aside, the thin, crisp tavern-style crust was great--it hit with nostalgic vibes like Monty's in Highland Park back in the 1980s. I'd easily come back just to grab a tavern-style pie to go. Strangely, the pizza cooled down surprisingly fast in the dining room. It did not hold the heat well. As for the deep dish, we saved it for breakfast the next morning, and it was delicious. We ordered a small "All Meats" deep dish--which is more than enough food for two people. When they say "lots of meat," they mean it: there was a massive sausage patty stretching across the entirety of the top of the pie alongside plenty of pepperoni. The cornmeal masa crust adds incredible depth and flavor to the dough. To me, it holds its own right alongside Chicago icons like Pequod's or Lou Malnati's, though the cheese layer was lighter than other establishments. The dining room is dark and a wee bit dated, giving off the feel of an old-school Italian spot (or a former Mexican restaurant converted into a pizzeria) with dark red and brown tones. The temperature inside was a bit on the cool side, but still comfortable. They sat the two of us in a generous booth easily large enough for five people. It's a huge space overall, offering a nice mix of tables, booths, and a large bar area. This corner of Echo Park has grown into a bustling food hub, but parking was easy on this night--there's a public lot behind the restaurant, though we lucked out with prime street parking just a block away (perks of arriving after 9:00 PM on a Saturday!). We arrived at 9:16 PM and let the host and server know we had a deep dish to go and wanted to sit down for tavern style and drinks. They reminded us a couple of times that the deep dish had to remain to-go due to the late hour, which was no problem at all since we already knew the drill. (Though interestingly, a review from May 29th mentioned guests could call ahead to fire a deep dish pie to eat in-house upon arrival to offset the 45-minute bake time--that policy wasn't an option during our visit). The initial phone service and host team were wonderful--they even gave us great local parking tips over the phone. However, the floor service faltered once the Laguna mix-up happened. The server also never introduced herself by name, and her defensive response to a basic menu correction left a somewhat sour note on an otherwise friendly night. Masa nails the food--the tavern crust is top-tier and the deep dish is a meat-lover's dream. With a bit more accountability on the service side when kitchen mix-ups happen, it could easily be a regular go-to. For now, it's gonna be a grab and go place--keep the great food, skip the less than service.
