Super small, trendy breakfast spot in Echo Park! Had breakfast with my best friend and we both enjoyed it! It's walking distance from a lot of cool spots like the lake. We met up on a Friday morning right when they opened and had no trouble finding parking in the lot behind. You did have to pay but it was cheap by LA standards. Not very many people since we came around opening, very chill vibe. Friendly staff and lots of great menu items. There is no bathroom in the restaurant! Chairs are just stools so not the comfiest place to chill but we spent a while just chatting and eating. Prices are kinda up there for the portion but it's trendy healthy LA food, so it was expected. I ordered the miso bowl and it was yummy and refreshing! The way it was served did confuse me though just because there was a scoop of hot rice and cold chicken and the veggies had no dressing. Are you supposed to mix it all up like a salad even though the rice is hot or are you supposed to eat it like a rice bowl? Idk it was odd. It wasn't till I finished most of the rice that I just mixed the everything together and it was better, like a salad. The cold chicken and hot rice really just threw me. But the miso dressing was delicious nonetheless! 4/5 Overall, I enjoyed this place but probs wouldn't go out of my way to have it again. Honey Hi is a pleasant spot with great energy and a tasty selection of healthy breakfast bowls/greens. I ordered the Community Bowl, which is a selection of greens/beans/grains with a really flavorful and complex vinaigrette. It's called the Community Bowl because a portion of the proceeds from this bowl goes to a nonprofit in the community. My biggest problem (and the reason for the 3 star review) was that the Community Bowl was simply not filling. It was tasty and healthy. But I paid $20+ (including tax and tip) for a breakfast bowl that wasn't satiating. I have walked and drive past by this local spot for 9+ years but never got the chance until now (2026). Blimey! I had a hot drip coffee x avocado toast on sourdough. I'd say both were okay in taste. Honey hi had the prettiest food I've ever seen. Their bowls are so aesthetically pleasing. My friend ordered the community bowl, and she said that not only did it look great, but once she mixed it all up, there was a sauce on the bottom of the bowl that really brought the whole bowl together. She loved the flavor. She did say she wouldn't add the egg next time because it was $4.5 extra. I got the lambwich and it was really delicious as well. Very moist. It was a great flavor with the cheese. It was very juicy so it dripped a little bit, but I'm not mad at it! It was a great lunch! You order inside at the counter and then they bring your food to you. The person at the cashier was really kind, very personable. We sat outside because it was a nice day, they have plenty of tables that line the sidewalk. Parking can be a bit rough, but we both found street parking. They're a little pricier, but I think they are very mindful about sourcing their food, which is why it's a little on the expensive side for a lunch spot. A healthy food cafe in Echo Park. I got a cup of sipping broth and the miso bowl with chicken. Both tasted rather healthy but nothing special. The sipping broth was nice on a cold day. My favorite one has a little bit of salt and seasoning, the only thing that seemed to be missing from this otherwise decadent avocado toast. Veggie forward, thoughtfully sourced ingredients, aesthetically cute, sensitive to dietary restrictions (the whole place is Gluten Free), a bit pricey, and a little crowded. That being said, I can't knock it. The food was good. I got the breakfast bowl. I'd say it's more of a loaded salad, rather than a bowl, but everything was super fresh and the flavors were tasty. Overall really loved the food and staff. Everything was delicious and very healthy. It does get very crowded with the line going to the door, but despite how busy it was my friend and I were able to find a small table during lunch hours on a weekend. The downside is you have to go across the street to use the restroom, so if you're like me and like to wash your hands before eating, you may need to go to the grocery store and do some shopping beforehand. This place is so impressive. I love that they have the usual offerings for brunch but all their food is very high quality, locally sourced, and way healthier than your average brunch place! I got the breakfast sandwich with bacon. The sandwich comes on a buckwheat sourdough so I immediately appreciated that they serve their sandwiches on bread with more whole grains and fiber (and flavor! In my opinion). The sunny side up egg was cooked to perfection. It also came with a house made hot sauce which was amazing. I also tried their dragon fruit lemonade which I highly recommend, it tastes like the healthier version of "purple drink" (purple crush soda) Last thing I really appreciated about this place was that they sell many of their home made items like the hot sauce and their pickles. We got the pancakes and eggs & toast, alongside the organic Japanese matcha.
