    Mango Matcha Latte
    Alex M.

Sweet Straw was the first boba shop that popped up in my map when I was looking for a boba shop near my hotel. The shop is hard to miss - there's a neon pink sign that reads, "Hella Open." The menu includes a variety of traditional and seasonal tea beverages. What I really liked is that Sweet Straw doesn't up-charge for alternate milks. While I visited in the evening (after 5 PM), there were still a handful of customers waiting to place and pick up their orders ahead of me. Overall, it took about 10 minutes to prepare my order of 4 drinks because only one person was taking orders and making the drinks. The mango matcha with oatmilk was delicious! I've never tried mango and matcha together before and wasn't sure what to expect, but the sweet mango purée nicely balanced the matcha (which can sometimes be bitter). While I loved my drink, my friends who ordered the Thai iced tea wished they could have adjusted the sweetness lower. Overall, I enjoyed my beverage and appreciated that Sweet Straw was still open when I had a late-in-the-day boba craving.

stopping by with a bunch of children for some drinks...browsing menu above the order counter...told to get in line to the right...children placing different orders one-by-one for blended drinks, fresh milk drinks and fruity drinks...majority of the drinks are $5.50-$5.75 medium to $6-6.25 large...drinks came out pretty quickly, so probably mostly all mixes and syrups...took a large vietnamese iced coffee drink...it wasn't as strong or potent as most vietnamese iced coffee drinks, but it had the sweet coffee flavors of one...$6.25 for a large under the special tea section...it had too much ice and too little drink, so ask for less ice...

Beautiful, pink, and great boba ! The service is fast and they are kind. I go for winter melon or taro.

I've been to Sweet Straw a few times for drinks. I usually get the matcha drinks. I like the strawbery matcha latte. It's not too sweet and balances well with the strawberry flavor. The boba is not as soft and chewy in comparison to other places. There are not other places that serve boba in Napa, so if you're craving boba, this is tge only place you'll find it. The staff were nice and were quick with orders.

Cute place! Seems popular as it is only one of the few boba places in town. Ordered the honey daze with boba -- their drink isnt anything special but I would have to recommend getting their boba. It's very soft, chewy and sweet! Workers were also great. They did make a mistake on my friend's drink but they fixed it right away. Great boba photo-op with the background!!

Sweet Straw has been so hit or miss lately. ;(. I normally love the Strawberry Matcha Lattes (one of my go-tos) but last time it was kind of disgusting. Then I got the horchata ice blended and the only part I like about it is the boba. There's too much of a spice in it (I want to say cinnamon but not sure) and both times I don't feel comfortable asking for a redo & if I were to... 1. I'm busy 2. For the horchata the whole thing is premade for the day (thus why they can't substitute the milk into oat milk). I'm just so disappointed today but it is what it is. The other 2 times that were good (so past 4 visits is a 50:50 ratio of yum to yuck) was the "Storeo" which is a strawberry-oreo off menu thing they can make. But IDK, I feel like that drink is too easy to make/not mess up. I want good quality for all drinks.

The Instagramable "Treat Yourself" Sign. The Neice Enjoying Her Bobba Thai Tea

After Brunch With My Neice This Morning I Asked Her If She Wanted Bobba Tea For Something Sweet & She Instantly Said "Siiii". HaHaHa So I Found This Place Here On Yelp. Read Some Good Reviews & Since We Were Close By We Decided To Stop By. The Place Is A Small Hole-In-The-Wall Right On Jefferson! We Actually Misssed It The First Time Around Since It's Between A Mexican Bakery & A Beauty Salon. There Is Only Street Parking So If You Are Lucky To Find A Spot Right In Front Of The Store You Should Be Good! We Were Lucky! The Customer Service Was Good. I Saw About Three Young Girls Running The Shop. The Drinks Came Out Quick. My Neice Got A Medium Bobba Thai Tea. She Said It Was "Spectacular". Keep In Mind My Neice Is A Bobba Addict So Mostly Anything With Bobba She Loves. HaHa As For Myself, I'm Not Really A Bobba Fan. However, They Do Have Other Drinks & Blended Smoothies. I Did Get A Tropical Blend Smoothie. It Was To Sweet For My Liking. I Did Drink Half Of It Though. The Shop Does Have A Small Very Instagramable Garden Wall With A Sign That Says "Treat Yourself" So Of Course The Neice Wanted A Pic In Front Of It. It Was A Really Nice Pic. Overall, Would I Come Back? Most Likely Not Since I Am Not Really Into These Kind Of Drinks. If I'm Ever In The Area With Someone Who Likes Bobba I Now Know Of A Place.

Front: Lavender milk (black milk tea with lavender) Back: Thai milk tea All around: good vibes

When the weather heats up I always start craving boba. I was visiting a friend in Napa and when I was planning my trip I saw this shop was close to her home and decided I needed to try it. There's a lot close by you can park to and walk over easily. I loved the energy of the restaurant--fun music, good vibes, and happy employees that seemed eager to please. Initially I wanted to get my regular Thai tea with taro, but they didn't have it on the menu. The employee was very enthusiastic about trying to create a custom drink, but when I saw the lavender milk on the menu--which I haven't tried before--I decided to go for that. My friend got a regular Thai tea with boba. They describe their drinks as tea-forward and I love that--I'm not a huge fan of super sweet drinks. You can customize sweetness, and though I normally go for 50 or 75%, I was happy with the 100% I got. My friend's Thai tea had a delicious roasted flavor. Excellent drink-to-boba ratio and we love the compostable straw. Bonus: they had really cute merchandise including affordable reusable straws. Loved this place and can't wait to visit again!

Spent a weekend in Napa and of course a road trip home wouldn't be complete without a boba drink. Found Sweet Straw on a Yelp search so we dropped by before heading out. I ordered a Jasmine Milk Tea with aloe vera and grass jelly -- really impressive. The tea taste was prominent and not too sweet. Really refreshing and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire cup on the drive home. I'm looking forward to trying something different the next time I'm in Napa. Would definitely recommend!

HELLA SMALL. Love the decor and their "HELLA OPEN" sign but that's it. They had like 2 people making drinks and neither of them was moving with urgency. The boba was old or something because it was hard. I got the strawberry matcha with oat milk and it just didn't hit the spot. The bf got the oreo with ice cream and they put the ice cream at the bottom? Is that normally how it goes? I've had my fair share of boba at different places, but this one just ain't it.

Can this beautiful little shop be any sweeter?! I couldn't help but smile at the 'Hella Open' neon sign in the window and again the minute I walked in. The fresh and hip design aesthetic sparks joy! I went a few weeks ago and tried the Boba Fresh Milk: 2 portions of boba, brown sugar, and choice of milk (think I had 2%). This might have been my second boba EVER...crazy, I know...and I really enjoyed it! It was a delicious, textural, filling and sweet afternoon treat! Owner Yesenia and her team offer an extensive menu of beverages and I look forward to trying others when I'm back in the area - Strawberry Matcha Latte, I'm coming for you! Make sure you take some photos of your pretty drink in front of the Instagram-worthy 'Treat Yourself' neon sign and green wall! Note: to maintain social distancing they only allow 6 people inside at a time (it's a tiny shop). I didn't have to wait when I was there on a weekday afternoon, but even if there is a wait, turnover should be quick. Wishing this one-year-old, women-owned, small local business continued success! Life is short, TREAT YOURSELF!

As such, it was extremely noisy and you could see that couples on dates had a hard time even talking to one another, and eventually just stopped. I could barely hear my wife talking next to me. Most of the servers would even have to lean in to hear the orders. As for the food, nothing really stood out. We ordered a large variety as we were a group of 10 eating family style and nothing really stood out. The quality of the food I would say was akin to fast food or mall food court level, but you're paying 3 times as much. The price belied the food quality. For example, 3 small pieces of ribs as an appetizer for more than $30, I'd expect it to be uniquely spiced, flavorful and juicy, but it was rather dry and tasted as like sauce from Panda Express. Their Wagyu beef carpaccio had too many strong flavors so the taste of the beef itself was lost. Heck, it didn't even really have the notable creamy-like texture that wagyu was supposed to have either (likely a lower grade of wagyu, probably somewhere between USDA Choice and Prime). A lot of their items feel gimmicky too: the unagi clay pot came with some seaweed, a seaweed holder, and two small bottles of sauces. The sauces were bland and contributed nothing to the dish. Making your own "hand rolls" with the seaweed did nothing for this dish other than get your hands dirty. I've watched enough Iron Chef back in the day to understand that this is very Morimoto, as he tries to make the dishes fun. The unagi itself was quite nice, though it might be my personal bias. The Halibut we got was overcooked and dry. Yes halibut is a firmer meat, but man this was hard to eat. The best dish was likely the Ishiyaki Buri Bop, which came with some tables idea theatrics. Nevertheless, for the price, you could do much better at a place like Kunjip Tofu in the bay. Overall, a bad experience. Based on the price point, I thought we'd be getting better food and better ambience, but it was overall mediocre - a blemish on the Morimoto name.
