I checked their Facebook to get their location today and took a day trip from Dublin up to Napa. My girlfriend got the Wood Oven Mozzarella Chicken Sandwich. It came on a really good fresh roll (I believe a french roll). The mozzarella was fresh and the chicken was juicy and succulent. It was outstanding! I got the Curried Chicken and Vegetable Sandwich. The chicken curry was perfectly spiced, and again, everything was freshly bought and made. The pomegranate-nectarine chutney on top went perfectly with the sandwich. It's the best sandwich I've had in a long time. Both sandwiches came with a great arugula salad tossed in a white wine dressing. I talked with the 2 guys that run the truck for a bit. They're very friendly, hospitable, and, most importantly, they clearly take a lot of pride in their work. Great value, outstanding cuisine, and hospitable service. You can't miss this if you're in Napa, especially if you're even 1/2 a foodie.

After months of poor communication and several displays of unprofessionalism, I tried to cancel our contract 6 weeks prior to our wedding date. I was in a dispute with the owner (Gabe) to try and get a refund for an event he hadn't even catered, and he refused to provide it. Note that the owner himself has stated that he thinks his business is headed to an end. See attached photo for text messages I received from him with this claim. If anything, you don't want to work with someone who cannot maintain a professional demeanor in their client correspondence. In case you need further convincing to NOT hire Ring of Fire, feel free to read through my ordeal below. --- In February of this year, I reached out in search of a wedding caterer. Gabe invited me and my partner to a complimentary tasting with other couples who were interested in booking. The tasting went great (the ONLY thing that went well in all my interactions with them) so we booked and paid a 50% deposit. Over the next few months I reached out to get deadlines and feedback on our proposed menu. After repeated attempts to contact him, the only time he really reached out was to offer a discount on our balance if we paid it early. In hindsight, this should have been a *red flag* - no professional would ever reach out to a client to ask them to pay something in advance of the contract terms unless they were poorly managing their business and finances. Instead, thinking it was gesture of customer service, we went ahead and paid our balance early to get the discount. However, after paying, Gabe unprofessionally asked us to reschedule our already confirmed site tour in favor of booking another lunch. My wedding coordinator and I agreed to reschedule, only to have him NO SHOW for the site tour. 15 minutes after the confirmed meeting time I called Gabe to get his ETA. He didn't seem to know where our venue was (even though he accepted a calendar event with the date, time, and address in it) and told me was still 50 minutes away so we proceeded without him. Had we waited, he would have been OVER AN HOUR LATE. At this point, I lost faith that ROF could cater my event. We were still 6 weeks away from our date so I requested to cancel our contract and get back the balance payment (that HE requested we pay early). Needless to say, he did not want to grant the refund. I worked with an attorney and determined the best course of action was to file a dispute with the credit card company AND to sue him in small claims court as backup. Luckily, the credit card company resolved the dispute in my favor but I still experienced an extreme amount of stress trying to book a new caterer with less than 6 weeks from my wedding date - something I would never wish on any bride. Again, please save yourself the stress and look elsewhere for your caterer.

All of the food was delicious (and the artichoke dip is still my favorite thing ever). We were given the option to pay in full upfront so we did.  When Covid hit, Gabe was very understanding and accommodating about moving the date, which we did twice. We finally celebrated in June 2022, and unfortunately the team was dealing with some key staff out for Covid.  We were super happy with Gabe until pretty much the day of the wedding itself. He had previously said he was going to come by in the morning for setup but never showed up or answered our message asking if he was still coming. We were also supposed to have the big truck showcased on the property and they arrived with the smaller truck. Come to find out the big truck had been inoperable and they couldn't fix it that morning. When the staff started arriving, the first thing they tell me is how they're short staffed and needed to move their crew around, service might be slower, etc. This felt unprofessional especially since it all ended up being fine. We paid for 120 head count and only had about 90 ppl show up, so we told them to leave leftovers. I'm not sure what happened but we had zero leftovers, even though Gabe was saying we'd have a bunch. They also didn't serve coffee in the evening though we had paid for it. Overall we've gotten so much positive feedback on the food and bar, the crew was great, but the unprofessionalism in the final moments really left a sour taste in my mouth. I'm sure some of this had to do with the fact that we paid in 2019 and that doesn't feel fair given that it was an option he offered to us.

You can walk around downtown, go to dinner and continue on your journey, enjoying the sites. Everything's within walking distance. I recommend going in January because a lot of the lighted buildings are on display. We walked around Friday, 9 February. The lighted buildings were no longer but they're still a lot to see. The event continues over to the Oxbow. It's a great way to spend time.

Come by foot or bike, bring a blanket, find a spot and enjoy. Cocktails are available if you know where to look. Food trucks line the street. All genres of music. There was guy playing steel drums, another band did covers and many wrote their own stuff. SO many different genres of music to enjoy on a beautiful day. Park your car and walk, streets are closed off as there are hundreds of people walking around. SO many friendly people, even made a bunch of new local friends. The video shows a band called One sharp mind. Looooooove the island vibe these guys produce. Thanks Napa- it was an amazing day!

Since I'm passing thru Napa, I didn't buy any "produce", as I will be on flying, and that doesn't make sense. However, I was able to taste and try many of the food vendors present. First off, OHM Coffee. As it was 83 degrees, I didn't want anything hot --- I opted for the Iced Matcha Latte. It was delicious! Nothing that made it "stand out", but I know a good Iced Matcha when I taste one --- definitely started my rounds around the market right! For breakfast, I've been craving a good breakfast burrito and found the vendor, "Earth's Bounty". It was a bit of a healthier take on the chorizo and potatoes --- they swapped it out for bacon and roasted veg. which included zucchini and sweet potatoes --- but I was pleasantly surprised! I devoured the whole thing!! The tortilla was warmed perfectly, and the melted cheese that crisped up on the grill made it EXCELLENT! To top it off, I visited a stand selling "MAUI STYLE POTATO CHIPS", helmed by the most friendly woman, named Sara. She was so awesome, and let me sample whatever I wanted. Every Saturday and Tuesdays in Spring from 8am to noon, the market is open and well attended so best to get there early to ensure there is enough inventory left! The market sells bags and has customer service people to assist and make sure there are no dogs and managing safety. The vibe is friendly, informal and inviting with lots of food samples and food trucks on site for breakfast or lunch. Prices are better than the grocery stores as there is no middle man between you and the farmer, fisherman, rancher, chocolatier, or honey maker!
