Residing on Main Street, this coffee shop is next to the riverfront, it was a delightful experience. Probably the best experience of Napa valley if I'm being honest. Their dessert, and their coffee were both outstanding. It was a small place, not a lot of seating but a very cute coffee shop vibe. The staff were very polite and helpful, even recommending places and spots to visit while we were around.

Fantastic locally owned coffee shop that has been a Napa favorite since 1985! They roast their own coffee beans in house and offer special blends for local wineries including Monticello and Peju. The baristas are always so happy and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. A true Napa classic with great coffee, local charm, and friendly service.

Ordered an iced pumpkin spice latte. Doesn't matter the size, they all only come with one shot of espresso according to the barista. My coffee was bland couldn't taste the pumpkin spice nor the espresso. Waste of $6.50. There is only one bathroom stall. Not sure why they only have hot water for the faucet to wash your hands. It wasn't just hot, it was scalding.

Spacious coffee shop, neat and clean, with coffee memorabilia throughout. Friendly service, and attention to detail. We tried a simple, macchiato, beverage, hot, and a latte. Both were very good. We would definitely go again. The location is really nice, also, right near the river. It is a great place for strolling, next to nice restaurants, bakeries, and shops.

If you're looking for a unique coffee experience in the heart of downtown Napa, look no further because "Napa Valley Coffee Roasting" will have you covered. Located directly on Main St. and adjacent to 3rd St. within steps to the Napa River, this place has been serving locals and tourists alike dating back to 1985. It is also one of the few locally owned-and-operated coffeeshops that has withstood the test of time; especially with giant corporations (like Starbucks) as well as more family-owned independent places which has saturated this area since the 2010's. I came here with my lady during the early afternoon of Saturday 7/12/2025 at around 12:15pm. Parking can be a bit challenging which is why I recommend using the nearby parking garage which gives you the first 3 hours FREE; more than enough time to soak in the entire downtown Napa experience. From the outside, this place looks absolutely amazing and something out of a romantic comedy movie. The inside is even more special with an abundance of natural light, plenty of seating throughout, and an interior that looks more like an upscale boutique than an actual coffeeshop. Since it was already the afternoon and I needed my coffee fix, I settled with their "Iced Snickerdoodle Latte" priced at a very reasonable $6.25 (as of mid-2025). Their main focus here is specifically coffee/espresso beverages as well as many unique favorites (lavender latte, cinnamon latte, etc.) as well as many non-espresso options including teas, Italian sodas, juices, and hot cocoa. Keep in mind that they don't have a traditional breakfast menu but do carry select pastries (donuts, cookies, scones, muffins, Biscotti, and more). As for my iced snickerdoodle latte, this absolutely hit the spot. It was a bit on the sweeter side but who has had a bland snickerdoodle cookie? Every sip had that delicious sugary taste combined with the subtle bitterness of the coffee itself. I also want to point out that the employees maintained a very positive attitude with a smile on their face. And Wi-Fi connections were reasonably quick, perfect for studying or getting work done. All in all, "Napa Valley Coffee Roasting" hit all the high notes for me and now I know why this place has been around since the mid-1980's. This review gets a perfect 5-star rating.

Now Roasting... So I really wanted to like this place and I now understand the mixed reviews. My latte was just ok and the service was slow. The Lavender Vanilla profile was good but I requested extra hot and it was lukewarm. Other Deets: Seating options both inside and outside. Pet-friendly. Merch available if you like that. Reasonable coffee prices.

Cute coffee spot with excellent unique drinks! Can only speak to the Snickerdoodle latte and DDS, but both were really great and a step up from my expectations. Would happily return!

Placed well in the Napa area, but my late afternoon stop for a quick shot of espresso didn't quite live up to the hype the taste was okay. The service wasn't the best, it took a while to have someone come to the counter to take my order. Inside there is a good amount of space to sit and have a conversation. Given its location I'd likely grab another cup when in town but at least I have my expectations set.

I absolutely adore the Halloween decorations -- they make the place feel so festive and welcoming! I also love coming here for their seasonal drinks; the staff are always so sweet and friendly. Every drink I've tried has been amazing, especially their iced coffees and iced teas. It's definitely worth stopping by whenever you're in Napa!

Coffee here is great! Came in to try their coffee beans since we were in town. With the purchase of coffee beans is a complimentary coffee or shot of espresso. I asked for the espresso and it tasted so good! Smooth, and not acidic at all. I recommend coming here for a cup of Joe. Some tables of students studying, so it's a great place for studying. Parking, there is a parking structure close by.

Service is super friendly and staff are very welcoming. And the interior is very cozy super cute. It's by the water so you can walk to coffee to the waterfront. However, the cappuccino I got is just not impressive. It's not bad but just not on par with its reputation and price point. Perhaps it's an off day cuz I've heard good things about their coffee. And perhaps I didn't order the right menu item. There are some fall specials that look really interesting!

After grabbing some awesome English muffins across the way, we needed some coffee to make the trip back home haha. We checked out Yelp, and was happy to find they had a Napa Valley Coffee Roasting place close by. Parking was a bit tricky at this location, but was finally able to get one. This location is large and very bright. It's so clean. The workers were very nice and gave us some suggestions on what to drink. We had the Toasted Hazelnut Mocha and the Lavender Vanilla Latte. Both were very good. And I'm usually very picky with my coffee, but this place just hit the spot. It was not overly sweet or strong. The coffee was just right. When around the downtown Napa area and want some coffee, stop by this place. If I wasn't in a rush, this place would be nice to sit and catch up with some friends.

The line was not too long for a weekend in downtown Napa. I was really happy with the service at Napa Valley Coffee Roasting, even with the line, I was able to ask questions about the coffee menu/make an adjustment. The staff were very nice! I liked to coffee, great to sip on while walking around downtown. They have a pretty extensive menu with coffee, tea, espresso drinks, and smoothies so there's something for everyone. I would recommend visiting for a coffee and a walk around for sure. I would say that the coffee is good, nothing wild. Sometimes simple is all you need!

Butter, pecan white mocha iced latte, mango smoothie, shark attack, Italian soda

Slowest coffee shop in America. Quite an honor. 25 minutes to get a straight up latte.

The lines in the morning definitely get long. Don't expect to loiter inside; there are signs kindly asking to wait for your order at their outside tables. They estimated about 30 minutes for my order of 2 sandwiches and a coffee, but I was pleasantly surprised when they called my name after 15 minutes. I don't even usually like English muffin sandwiches but this wowed me. The inside of the muffin is so soft and the outside is griddled to a perfect crisp. A great start to my day in Napa, I'd just remember to order ahead online next time.

TLDR: Finally got to try the famous breakfast sandwich on…read moretheir english muffin. My final verdict is that this is an excellent breakfast sandwich and one of the best english muffins I've had, but it's not life changing. That being said, quality, prices, and variety were all excellent so this bakery deserves a visit if you're near any of their locations in Napa, Yountville, or St. Helena! ------ FOOD: 1. CLASSIC BREAKFAST SANDWICH (4/5) Loved that this was made to order so came out super hot and fresh. They pre-cut the sandwich in half so that when you open it up, the cheese is nice and stringy. The muffin was extremely soft, I actually really liked the ham, and the egg was nice and fluffy. Two points of improvement: 1) the sandwich was surprisingly greasy / oily even though it didn't look it would be at all, and 2) the egg could probably use some more seasoning (salt, pepper, etc) because I found myself needing to use the Cholula hot sauce packet with every bite. 2. ENGLISH MUFFIN WITH JAM (3.5/5) I only tried this after it had been sitting out for 20 - 25 minutes and was already cold and a bit hard. It tasted totally different from the english muffin in my sandwich, and there wasn't enough jam in the muffin itself. As I had it I wouldn't get again, but I think I need to give it another chance fresh. ------ ENVIRONMENT / AMBIANCE: * Located right next to Fatted Calf and Gotts by Oxbow market. If you're coming from Oxbow, you have to walk all the way around Gotts or there's a narrow alley on the other side of Gotts that is a shortcut straight to Modal Bakery * It's a small shop but with all the same variety you will find in the other Modal Bakeries. No indoor seating, standing room only for the line and for pick-up * All the seating is right outside and there are several tables available to claim * The overall feel is: neighborhood-bakery-casual ------ SERVICE: * Fine, standard service * They'll call your name when your item is ready, and then you get get utensils, napkins, and sauce packets yourself by the door on your way out. If you're sitting outside, I think they'll bring your order out to you if no one claims it inside
