My step-daughter told me about Sweet Rose Cafe as she knew I was a vegan. She saw an advertisement for it on Facebook. Last night we were going to dinner at her house and I always bring my own food so that I don't inconvenience her since I am the only non-meat eater. So, I stopped in to pick up something quick. I have to tell you that it is super cute inside! The staff was very nice and helpful! They even cooked me a small piece of the tempeh bacon to try for next time, which was delicious! I ordered the Chickpea salad and the beet salad. Both were tasty and filling! I am looking forward to going back and trying the butternut squash panini! Would highly recommend. Good food. However, I wish they didn't rely so heavily on microwaving their food. I ordered a vegan egg/cheese/sausage breakfast sandwich, a Greek wrap, sweet chili chik'n wrap, day old turnovers and iced black coffee. I liked the breakfast sandwich and LOVED the Greek wrap. My husband felt the vegan chik'n on the sweet chili wrap lacked flavor despite the chili sauce & salsa. Unfortunately, I didn't like the iced black coffee. No simple syrup... but they do have agave and other flavored syrups. I will definitely return, as I would like to try other items from their menu. Next time, I will ask that the sandwich be heated in the panini press instead of the microwave. They use really delicious bread that was ruined by over heating in the microwave. I understand they are busy, and trying to get the food out. But, I am more than willing to wait for good food. I suggest ordering ahead on a Saturday morning, they were very busy and the wait in the cafe was long. If it weren't for all the microwaving and my 25 min wait for food that had been ready but sitting on the counter I would give 5 stars. I stopped off here from NYC on my way to catch the ferry to Martha's Vineyard. I got the TLT sandwich with pesto dressing. I'd only intended to eat half and take the other half with me but it was so delicious I couldn't stop myself from eating the whole sandwich right then and there. AMAZING!! First off there are NO vegan friendly places at least not many in the south coast area. This place was great I got a garden grilled "cheese" and I was full by half of it- delicious and extremely filling! The chai tea is amazing. They have great cinnamon rolls and great smoothies. This place is amazing! The food is fresh and made with quality ingredients. Stopped here passing through and it is now a destination for me. The hardest part was deciding what I was going to order. So many amazing dishes and everything was available with a gluten-free option. I will definitely be coming back to try everything on the menu. Came here for the first time yesterday after my best friend told me about a new vegan spot across from her job! As far as appearance, it is such a cute location! And the food did not disappoint either. I had a pumpkin muffin which was so moist and yummy, it wasn't overly sweet like your typical Dunkin' Donuts one. I also had an Oreo brownie which again was extremely moist! You would have no idea it's vegan, I brought it to my boyfriend who is not vegan and he had no idea. I also had, after trying to pick one sandwich from their wonderful menu, A vegan no meatball sub. It is lentil and quinoa-based but taste so delicious like a regular meatball sub. The sauce was great and the vegan cheese was to die for, I've been vegan for seven years and even I couldn't believe this cheese was vegan! My only suggestion would be to cook the meatballs in the sauce so the inside of the meatballs have more flavor rather than just putting the sauce on top. That's just my inner Italian preference lol. I am so excited to keep coming back to this place to try all their menu items. This place is brand new. They transformed a local house into a vegan bakery and Cafe. Wife and I stopped by this morning for coffee and muffins. Everything was fantastic. We got there at around 12 and did not get our food until 12:30 when all I had gotten was a garden grilled cheese sandwich.
