Gluten free case
Aya R.

Items ordered: GF blueberry muffin, GF chocolate chip pumpkin muffin, GF chocolate chip cookie, espresso with milk Value: Great prices! Service: Amazing. The Review: I am beyond happy that we made the decision to stop at Sweet Rose Cafe. I was in need of a pick-me-up after my RMV appointment (bureaucracy can do that to you). In addition to being an entirely vegan café, I was surprised to see an abundance of gluten-free options. I mentioned gluten-free and someone who seemed to be the owner popped up out of nowhere, showing me all the menu items that could be GF (basically all of them). She also made my coffee EXACTLY how I like it. Their oat milk was fantastic. Couldn't say better things about Sweet Rose. Go give it a try.

I won a gift card about two years ago at an event! I had heard nothing but good things about this place. My husband and I were lazy on this rainy afternoon and decided let's use the gift card. I ordered our food online and picked it up. Got blueberry lavender lemonade it is very good. We ordered the buffalo and taco wrap. Big portions for the price.

Wonderful little vegan cafe in Fall River! I happened to be in the area and went for a walk to check it out. Friendly staff, adorable decor, chill place right across from what looks like a hospital. Healthy as well as comfort food options. The vegan (oat milk) peppermint mocha latte I got was delicious! The sweet potato burrito was a little bland, but super healthy, so I was fine with that. Might try something else if I am ever in the area again.

Super good option for vegan food. The place is 100% vegan and seems to do everything well. We had the breakfast panini, wrap and tacos and all were delicious. Staff was very friendly and efficient. The atmosphere and ambience is cute and cozy. There is plenty of seating at non peak times that is all first come first serve. I would go back here anytime. I would be a regular if I lived in the area. Two thumbs up!

Love having access to vegan options so close to home. The Buffalo pasta salad is a must I grab almost every order but there's not a sandwich I haven't liked. The inside has limited seating. In the summer sitting outside can be nice but if you're there during a busy time you might opt for to-go.

Butternut Burrito $9.50. Okay

Cool vegan spot in a nice part of Fall River. I liked the vibe here, really laid back and nice people. Food was okay. I got their Caribbean wrap which had avocado, jerk sauce and pineapple salsa. I also tried their Butternut Burrito with avocado, caramelized onions and quinoa. Both wraps were $9.50, but they were a little lacking in flavor. Each could have used more sauce. However, their Oreo Brownie bar was so good. Fudgey and super tasty. $2.75 Pretty small portions for my liking, but I expect that at all vegan joints.

Pumpkin/chocolate chip muffin

I wanted to be sure to review the best vegan place around, which is Sweet Rose Cafe! I have been there a few times and their paninis and sandwiches are so delicious! Their muffins and desserts melt in your mouth, they are so yummy! If you are in the area, stop by and enjoy this adorable place with excellent food! I attached pictures of my pumpkin/chocolate chip muffin and some cinnamon buns and twists! So good!

If you're vegan or vegetarian, you won't find a wider selection for breakfast or lunch. The menu is HUGE and features breakfasts with vegan eggs, avocado toasts, salads, soups, paninis, quinoa bowls, sandwiches, wraps. If you want vegan protein, you will find many, many items on the menu. But lottsa vegetarian fare as well. Wish the Cafe had opened before I retired.

We do try to make a reservation for brunch, as I know there's usually a wait. I will say that the decor in the tipsy is one of its biggest drawers. Whoever is decorating, definitely knows what they're doing! The fireplace at the center of the restaurant is always tastefully decorated for the season. I absolutely love it! I had quite a few other $20 lobster rolls specials this summer. The amount of lobster that they give you for $20, and being able to pick your side is one of the best deals around. Not to mention the quality of the food for the $20. My Caesar salad was absolutely delicious too! The other picture I posted is one of my favorite salads that they used to make with the goat cheese "arancini". I really do miss that side, so hopefully they'll bring a back one day. It was quite the meal!

The gaps in between service were long, waiting for food and drinks was long, and waiting to get our bill was long. We were waiting for over 30 minutes finished with napkins on plates. The table next to us got seated, drinks, food, and was rung out before we were.

I SO badly wanted to love it but I just can't give the place above a 2 star. The first thing they…read morebrought was almost comical: a nickel-sized square of focaccia with a bit of jam and cheese. I have never in my life been served what I'd consider half a bite of food. I'd almost rather they bring nothing at all than a comically small piece of bread. My food (basil pesto pasta) was good but the quantities are quite small, especially for the price. TLDR: Don't come hungry or on a budget. The real reason for the low rating was the $34 mushroom entree. "Potatoes" here just means two bites of potato, which is kind of crazy considering how cheap potatoes are. "Carrots" meant 4 (kind of sad) carrots, and the mushroom (the main part of the dish) was so small it was comical. My dad was disappointed (he also wanted to love it here) and when they asked how it was, he gave his honest feedback. The waitress took the info back and he repeated his thoughts to the manager about the disappointing portion. He said he only got like two bites of potato and she said "oh they weren't in pyramids?" (Like that resolves the quantity of food?) He repeated again that it was about the quantity and was told "No one has said that about this." I suppose people must only have thought it... Felt really dismissive to say to someone, especially because this plate was apparently new (they said today was the first day they had it). They didn't comp anything or even discount it after the manager came over, which I feel like is standard practice when folks are unhappy with their meal. Felt like she just wanted to shut down the complaint rather than resolve it. They brought us, at the end of the meal, a "thank you" which was 2 lemon candies... there were 3 of us (not that we really wanted them anyway, but weird to not give at least one per person). The atmosphere is relaxed, the place is quite small in a sweet way and it's tucked away from the street, but I will never return. Ridiculous pricing for tiny portions. It felt like a SNL skit.

Everyone who works there is friendly and inviting, and even gave us a cute little amuse to start the night and the buckwheat shortbread to end. Here's everything we ordered: Agnolotti stuffed with tofu ricotta, with English peas, bacon, and a savory broth (my entree, I loved this - the broth was quite salty but the peas added a lovely freshness) Fazzoletti e funghi: local blue oyster mushrooms in a white wine cream sauce ‍ (my Mom's entree, also delicious and so umami) "Ivy rose" mocktail with grapefruit, prickly pear, and limeade (delightful!) Appetizers: fried squash blossoms stuffed with tofu ricotta in pomodoro sauce, and housemade focaccia with a trio of whipped butters (thyme and shallot, Calabrian chili, and smoked sweet onion). The ratio of butter to focaccia was more than double what we could use (we ordered more focaccia to spread it on!) but both of these apps were perfect. Foglia burger: house burger patty, tomato jam, garlic aioli, lettuce, onions, pickles, onion ring, housemade focaccia, and spicy agave parsnip fries (my dad's entree and to my delight he really enjoyed it!) Dessert: a gigantic slice of tiramisu (my favorite cake!). This was a huge slab, enough to share and have some leftover for breakfast. A little on the dry side for tiramisu but still really nice. Foglia is such a gem and we had a great time in Bristol, it's a beautiful town. The restaurant is small and cozy but was not too busy when we went. I highly recommend Foglia for a special occasion!

One day we were undecided where to go... the typical "where do you want to go? " "I dunno, where do you wanna go?" infinite loop. We were driving on Wood street and she asked me if I wanted to try B&B. My gut instinct told me NO, IT'S VEGETARIAN FOOD. VEGETARIAN FOOD IS THE DEVIL!, but somehow I mustered up the strength to deny these thoughts and agreed to try it. I love a good restaurant that waits on you, so the idea of walking to a counter to get my food didn't make me excited. I looked over the menu and saw they had faux chicken sandwiches. They use seitan which I always wanted to try since it's insanely high in protein. I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken. They also sell beer too which was cool. I got a Clownshoes IPA that I sipped until they brought the food to the table. The portion size of the sandwich is monstrous! I could tell by the sauce drizzle that I was in for something special. The colors from the cabbage slaw in the sandwich provided a solid presentation. As I bit into the sandwich, it had the chew of tender fried chicken and the seitan had some wicked flavor. I'm salivating just talking about it. The sauce had a nice sweet tangy heat which really set it off nice. We ordered fries which were nicely salted and served up with a little cup of aioli. Very good. Honestly, I never thought vegetarian food could taste this good and hopefully I don't regret posting this review and the place blows up and have to wait in line for hours next time. Lol! This…read morefamily-run restaurant has only been open about a year, but it already feels like an established part of the local dining scene. A nice space. We began with spring rolls (VERY good - chicken and shrimp) and sake, and the sake program deserves special mention. We selected a very enjoyable $38 bottle and noticed several other bottles at lower price points, along with a wide selection of canned sake--many around $11. Some diners may balk at paying that much for a can, but they will happily pay more for a mediocre glass of wine at half the volume. The value here is actually quite good, especially for those looking to explore sake beyond the ordinary. Our entrées--the ramen and chicken katsu--were excellent. The ramen featured a rich, deeply satisfying broth, while the chicken katsu was perfectly crisp on the outside and tender within. If you want a "hotter " ramen - the have an add on for a buck. Service was warm and attentive, reflecting the pride that often comes with a family-owned business. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, allowing the quality of the food to take center stage. Bristol is fortunate to have Sakuratani. Strong Japanese dining options can be hard to find outside larger cities, and for a restaurant only a year old, they seem to be doing many things right. We look forward to returning and exploring more of their menu--and their sake offerings. Highly recommended.

They have a wide variety of cocktails, beers, and wine. They have an enormous menu with a variety of appetizers, burgers, salads, and entrees. They also have a "specials" sheet featuring rotating specials. We ordered their fried string beans and some Caesar salads to start. Both were very good. My wife had chicken parmigiana for her entree, our friends had salmon and cod, and I had the whole belly fried clam plate (YAY!). The portions were GENEROUS. My wife's chicken parmigiana was enough for three people. Best of all, my order of clams was enormous and perfectly made. I am a complete snob when it comes to fried clams. I rarely get them, and I can say that these were among the best I have had anywhere. Price and value were excellent. We said we would be back, and we made that official. It's a small, cozy spot with just a few tables and countertop seating, plus a couple of outdoor tables that are dog-friendly. The truffle mac & cheese may be one of the best vegan mac & cheeses I've had in a really long time. So creamy, rich, and absolutely delicious. The cauliflower bites were another favorite--fresh, crunchy little nuggets tossed perfectly in honey mustard. I originally thought the sauce would come on the side for dipping, but I actually loved that they were coated so evenly. So good! Hubby had the Rubenesque sandwich, and everything was incredibly fresh and delicious. There was also a steady stream of people picking up online orders and grabbing food to go, which definitely made us feel like this is a local favorite.
