    Roti Karee Curry

Overall a good experience. The restaurant had a fund atmosphere and the staff was very friendly. We tried the: - Chicken Pot Stickers - Roti Karee Curry - Beef Noodle Soup - Duck Over Rice The food was fine, the only reason I'm eating it a 3 is because I had phenomenal Thai food the day before, so it's really skewing my review. The prices were very affordable so that's a plus, and the Roti Karee Curry was flavorful. The roti itself I would buy if they sold.

TDLR: Big menu, big portions with tons of meat. They don't skimp. Chill vibes. Indoor/outdoor seating. Robot brings you your drink. What a massive menu! So many options, this is what we ordered and we would order each dish again. - Bamee BBQ Pork Dry - the noodles were sweet and so much pork - Wonton Soup - so many wontons (delish) and so much pork - Korean Beef Bulgogi You seat yourself and can order from your phone or a waitress will take your order. Food comes out fast. Seating is good for small groups and they have a few tables that can be put together for larger groups. Outdoor seating has sun. Drinks are delivered with a robot - check it out!

I have been wanting to try this place for a very long time. I love Thai food, but they are definitely like a Pan Asian fusion. The customer service was great. I got water and a menu immediately and the server was very helpful with what to choose on the menu. I got the shrimp shumai which were perfect. The beef basil bao which I got LOVED! I got 4 to go! For my main I got the Korean spicy bowl with the fish, which was Sol fish, it was amazing but I feel like the flavor was missing something or it was all at the bottom of the bowl. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area and will recommend them to others.

My friend and I ordered take out from here so I cannot comment on the inside of the restaurant. I got the shrimp pad Thai, a sala pao, and order of sweet milk roti. My friend got beef pad see ew. Everything was delicious. Portions were big. Good was packed well and hot. The amount of meet in our dishes was plenty. The spice levels we requested were appropriate. Would totally eat here again. Lots of options and fun/unique dessert choices. Loved the pad Thai.

Big menu and the food came quick. I got the pad se ew and it was pretty tasty. But it didn't really stand out as something I'd come again for, chicken was a little dry. But overall a good experience and nice if you want some traditional tasting Thai food

The food was sooo good. I love peanut based sauce and it was amazing to dip the chicken satay in it - this was my favorite. The salad on the side was good too and cuts through the grease of the basil beef rice bowl which I also ordered. It was good but I preferred the chicken satay. There is an open patio outside and a restroom. It's also conveniently located next to the Blue line station. The servers are really nice. The only minor issue I had was that I pressed the button for service twice but no one came until someone walked by and I had to verbally communicate with them. Not sure if the bell button was just for optics. Very minor though, the restaurant is small enough where a waiter will walk by soon enough. Overall a good experience. I would definitely come back to try other dishes!

Excellent Thai food and good service. The kids menu is a little limited if yours is an adventurous eater. We both were a bit meh over our drinks.

My wife and I found this place on accident. I am a big fan of Thai food. So when we stumbled upon this place I had to try it. We walked in on a Sunday evening and was seated right away. The servers were great. A robot brought us our waters. We ordered appetizers and drinks. (See pics). While we were eating our main meals we noticed a lot of traffic in and out. Food was amazing. Also the desserts are very good the sticky rice and coconut ice cream was great.

I've always passed by this place on the blue line but never got a chance to go in until today and I'm so glad I did! It's a cozy restaurant with plenty of seating. Very casual feel to it. We ordered a few appetizers and they were all amazing. I thought the gui chai and the dipping sauce it came with was especially good; I was surprised by how simple yet flavorful it was. I ordered the dry bamee duck medium spice and it was delicious and not too spicy at all. Everyone working there was so nice and accommodating to our group and service was good; we didn't feel rushed at all. I would definitely come back!

We stopped by, not having too high hope cuz it's pan-Asian food, but the staff were Thai so we ordered Thai specific foods and hoped for the best. It was such a cute establishment with a store front look inside the restaurant. There's also a dessert drink place inside too under a different storefront look. They also have a cute outdoor seating area with umbrella shade. Unfortunately there were mosquitoes and bugs out so we couldn't really eat in peace. The pad Thai tofu was not bad in my opinion. The flavor comes through and tofu was a good firmness level. Bean sprouts were fresh. The chicken satay was also good, I liked that they cut it up and placed on vegetables. Peanut sauce was on the sweet side but very creamy yet not oily. The pickled veggies had a good variety, still a bit sweet to me but it is what you would expect from Thai foods. Very flavorful. The kao soi had a hint of spice, more umami than typical Thai places but still had sweetness to it. The chicken were rather large and my husband wished they'd cut it up more for more ease of eating but otherwise was really pleased with the flavor.

Outdoor seating is always a plus. Especially in perfect weather end of August. The bbq wanton has generous portions of wanton and bbq. The broth was just OK The moo yang is a good marinated pork sweet and rich in flavor. You need to pair it with the savory broth of the wanton to kill the sweetness I do have an issue with the gratuity upfront - thus it's only 3 stars otherwise I would have given it 4.

Very kitschy and yummy too - hard to do both! I had too many things I wanted to try, I'll definitely have to go back for the others. I had the pepper steak and a milk tea, lots of flavor. It has street food stall vibes and they use a robot to deliver the drinks. it was a surprise when I saw it and then it was fun to watch every other table's reactions when they saw it for the first time too. Very cute. They had a holiday 2-for-1 teriyaki chicken special that really spoke to my boyfriend who likes to eat at a volume discount! :D Good value, lots of choices, yummy, and a little unique.

Overall Thoughts: Located right off the Western Blue Line stop, Sweet Rice is a casual Thai restaurant with ample indoor and outdoor seating, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. I especially enjoyed the Basil Duck Rice entree and Sweet Rice Durian dessert. The menu is quite expansive though, and I'd be happy to come back to try more dishes! Food I tried: - Chicken Satay: A solid appetizer! Peanut sauce was creamy, and the chicken was tender and flavorful. - Gui Chai: These made good appetizers too with a well-fried, crispy exterior and soft interior. - Basil Duck Rice: This was super delicious; I'd definitely get it again. It was sautéed perfectly with deep pockets of flavor-- the duck is tender and juicy, the fried egg is crispy, the rice is soft and flavorful. - Vegan Duck Noodle: This was my least favorite dish out of everything we ordered. The noodles weren't very flavorful, and the vegan duck was a let down-- It's made differently than the ones typical of NYC Thai restaurants, so it just didn't hit as much. - Sweet Rice Durian: As a durian fanatic, I loved this dessert-- it's a unique one that you won't find on most other Thai menus in Chicago (other than at Sticky Rice, which is owned by the same family). It was quite soupy, and the combination of the warm coconut sauce, the creamy durian, and the sticky rice that instantly soaked up all the coconut and durian flavors was just perfect. Split between 3 people, the price was ~$25/pp including tax/tip, which was good for the amount of food we got. -- Price (relative to peers): 4.4/5 Food: 4.4/5 Ambience: 4.7/5 Service: 5/5 Overall Value: 4.5/5

Do they have outdoor seating? Yelp says yes, but pictures don't suggest that they do?

Yep! They have an outdoor patio in the back.

Is this the same Sweet Rice people from down the street, south of the 606? They had to close when they built the new apartments. Hope so, they were very good!

Yes, its the same owner but the menu is completely different. The food is still great. If you want something similar to the old Sweet Rice try Sticky Rice on Western and Irving. It's the same owner as well.

There are tons of people ordering at the counter as well as a line outside the door. They were really busy and I think they might've needed a few more workers. Orders were piling in from the kiosk as well as the counter. We ended up ordering the Ube taiyaki fish as well as an Ube ice cream soft serve in a cup. Man, I remember last time I came here. I got the Ube Matcha float and my friend got the Matcha milk tea with tapioca and those two desserts didn't seem like too much, however, this time when I came, these desserts are a lot. I kind of wish we'd ordered just one of them, but we live like we're rich #yolo. I think the Ube is the best Ubisoft server ever had in my life as it's not overly sweet, but is incredibly creamy and rich meaning they probably made it with whole milk. The taiyaki was warm when he first had gotten it, but the ice cream has started to melt inside and now it's become slightly gooey mess. This is our exact conversation while eating the taiyaki. " Fish bread, sweet ice cream. I don't know they made it hot. so sweet. Oh no it's exploding-that's why I got in a cup. It's melting I'm getting more ice cream next time. Yeah it's amazing. I wish I was able to travel with one of their cheesecakes but they require refrigeration. Anyhow the cheesecake itself was delicious super light, fluffy, and honestly felt like biting into a cloud. My only downside like others is the price. Paying around $19-$20 for a small cheesecake felt a bit steep, especially since they don't offer slices. I really wish they had smaller portions available so you could try different flavors without committing to a full cake prize. They package it very well and they also serve you a cute little fork set and a knife for cutting which I think is contributes to the price. The shop itself is very cute with chic décor and a lot of Asian-inspired artwork, which adds to the overall vibe. Customer service was friendly. When I visit Chicago again I'd definitely go back the texture and taste alone make it worth it but I do hope they consider offering smaller portions in the future.
