I have been wanting to try this place for a very long time. I love Thai food, but they are definitely like a Pan Asian fusion. The customer service was great. I got water and a menu immediately and the server was very helpful with what to choose on the menu. I got the shrimp shumai which were perfect. The beef basil bao which I got LOVED! I got 4 to go! For my main I got the Korean spicy bowl with the fish, which was Sol fish, it was amazing but I feel like the flavor was missing something or it was all at the bottom of the bowl. The food was sooo good. I love peanut based sauce and it was amazing to dip the chicken satay in it - this was my favorite. The salad on the side was good too and cuts through the grease of the basil beef rice bowl which I also ordered. It was good but I preferred the chicken satay. There is an open patio outside and a restroom. It's also conveniently located next to the Blue line station. The servers are really nice. The only minor issue I had was that I pressed the button for service twice but no one came until someone walked by and I had to verbally communicate with them. Not sure if the bell button was just for optics. Very minor though, the restaurant is small enough where a waiter will walk by soon enough. Overall a good experience. The flavor comes through and tofu was a good firmness level. Bean sprouts were fresh. The chicken satay was also good, I liked that they cut it up and placed on vegetables. Peanut sauce was on the sweet side but very creamy yet not oily. The pickled veggies had a good variety, still a bit sweet to me but it is what you would expect from Thai foods. Very flavorful. The kao soi had a hint of spice, more umami than typical Thai places but still had sweetness to it. At the time, Sweet Rice Asian Kitchen happened to be the one that captured my interest and ranked number thirteen during my search. On an evening where I just wanted to lounge around in my pajamas without driving anywhere in my vehicle around Chicago, I ordered online via yelp with Grubhub delivery. Since I am vegetarian, I was drawn to a few of the vegan options on the menu, particularly the Vegan BBQ Pork Noodles! Oh honey, the sight of it with all of its features literally made my mouth salivate. I admit, I am weak when it comes to anything barbecue! There, I said it, tehehe. And I loved that there were spice levels because as one who is not fond of spicy hot foods, it played an influence in me ordering as well. It took thirty-five minutes from the time my order was acknowledged by Grubhub to the arrival of it at my residence. A shout out to the Grubhub delivery driver for making that happen in that astonishing time. I could not resist moaning after eating each delicious forkful, or um, slurpful! The vegan barbecue had a sweet taste that I simply enjoyed and anticipate having with brown rice in the foreseeable future. The Potstickers were lined up perfectly on a small platter with dipping sauce on the side, they had a nice crunch to them. I ordered the Basil Chicken. It was very tasty, with lots of red & green peppers and enough to take home for later. My friend ordered Kao Gai Tod which is fried battered chicken, cilantro, and sweet chili sauce. Really enjoyed both the mussel fritter and the khao mun gai and would get both again! Sometimes I pass by this restaurant in the morning while walking my dog. I have been wanting to try it for a while and the menu looks exotic yet delicious. When I arrive my items were not ready but that was my fault because I scheduled it too far out.. The hostess was great about getting my drink and making sure that my items were prepared timely. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and has a pretty dope sound system. They had a separate waiting area and also room for people to stretch out if dining inside. To the food: I believe that my choice of order was really well selected. I was happy that my entree included plenty of chicken and fresh vegetables. I was pleasantly surprised at all the spice that was in my meal. I will say that this meal was way more spicier than I anticipated, however ver it was really flavourful. I would suggest that if you cannot handle real spice, you do not get this menu item. The amount of food was reasonable for the price and I did have leftovers the next day. My mango smoothie was fire and I tore it up on my walk back home. I've been here before and I recall an average or even below average experience. Therefore, I was hesitant to return, but I'm so happy I did! The menu has been revamped and I really enjoyed the food today. The table got fried tofu and cheese ragoons for starters, both were 10/10. The tofu were perfect bite sized crunchy pieces paired with a sweet sauce. The ragoons were fried to golden brown and were so delicious.
