I came here throughout the week for lunch and it was good…read more I ordered the lunch meatloaf with mac and cheese and yams. The meatloaf was a good portion for the price. The mac and cheese was good. I really liked the yams. I placed the order online and it was ready in 25 minutes. This location is in a strip mall and not easy to see from the main road. Plenty of parking. They have updated their prices.

I order the fried catfish which had no flavor or taste at all , the cabbage was just okay, and the Mac and Cheese was not good either. The other two people ordered the meatloaf because they had been before and said it was pretty good but they was disappointed as well. The meatloaf was cold, but they did say they enjoyed the candies yams, but they still said they would never come back because the food is no longer good or freshly prepared here. But back to my food poisoning situation, around 3:30pm I had stomach cramps so I knew something was wrong ( unfortunately I was the only one had the fish and tartar sauce so it had to be one or the other) and I didn't have anything else to eat that day . But later that afternoon I started vomiting and kept going to the bathroom and here it is the next day and I'm still having stomach pains. I should have know when I entered that know one was inside and they said this place used to be packed for lunch. But unfortunately I will never return here or recommend anyone else to go here for soul food. It wouldn't surprise me if others got sick as well because it's definitely old food being served or it's not being properly store . I hate cafeteria food but next time I'm going to Piccadilly I stead ...

The servers seem to have been raised here. If you added up all of the years the sweet folks that work here, have been here, it's in the thousands for sure. There is even a little lady named Julie that seats you while she pushes her walker around with the menus riding on her tush seat. I like this place because when I am here, I am just about the youngest person inside besides grandkids, LOL. Old asses! I'm not sure what the whole meaning behind the Silver Caboose name is but I can guarantee the Grim Reaper is riding in it, just waiting on the next one. We all have our time, relax it's just a joke. To the food.... It's not epic, but it's pretty damn tasty. They have a handwritten daily special list that they give you when you sit down. I usually just get what the special is. Kids venture out. It's always a tasty meal, no matter what you get. C comes here all the time. She is a me-maw. Actually it's , Ci-Ci. Don't let me mess that up. She just told me she went there today. Geez. I was there yesterday, tehehe. It's all pretty freaking charming really. I swear I saw Opie and Aunt Bee last time. Just go! '26 - 47

Good comfort styled food and very good customer service. Think of a Cracker Barrel without the…read moregift store and modestly adorned decor. The service from start to finish was very good. The hostess seated my wife & I and our server Carter did N excellent job for us. The restaurant is large and well spaced out. It is also clean and the ambiance is a home type feel. We started with the Fried pickles cooked in fresh oil and came out hot. The country dip is good. Basically roast beef cut up and provolone melted cheese on top within a roll plus an au jou dipping sauce. It's chunkier than a normal French dip but it is good. Flavor wise, it was average and could have been seasoned a bit more. The beef is barely above the bland side as far as pot roast beef is concerned. However, combined together the components elevate the sandwich. It's worth the try to see if one would like it. French fries were good and freshly lightly salted. Cole slaw was basic. Not too creamy but also not sweet. My wife got the fettuccini Alfredo with grilled chicken. It was good and you will notice the grilled flavoring on the chicken. For me, the food could have benefited from a bit more seasoning but that is subjective. The meals were well worth the cost and Pop's deserves to be on anyone's go to eateries if you want good comfort dining.

This was my first time to Tennessee, and my first time trying southern food there. I'll try and break this down quickly. The restaurant was cool and super clean. The cornbread and okra were probably the worst I ever had. The cornbread had no sweetness or flavor at all, and the okra was just hard, cold and rubbery. The sautéed squash was ok, with no flavor or seasoning really. I really enjoyed the green beans though. The macaroni and cheese wasn't that great at all, and the grilled catfish was decent. Now for the star of the show, the fried chicken. It was absolutely terrific! The thin and crispy batter and the juiciest meat! Yummy! We took home three desserts. Cobbler a la mode, banana pudding and bread pudding. The cobbler was great, the banana pudding was awesome, but the bread pudding wasn't that good. It was very dense, and the vanilla sauce was missing. That might have helped it a bit. Overall, we had a great visit and the service was completely top notch! Thanks again Grace!

The Redfish Clemenceau is one dish that is sure to please. Redfish with panko breading, peas, potatoes, and mushroom in a light sauce, I really enjoyed. I am not a fan of all things fish, but I did venture out and I'm glad I did. I have also had the bread pudding and cheesecake, with the bread pudding being my favorite. Oysters are half price on Tuesday and I enjoyed the raw oysters better than the chargrilled. The chargrilled didn't taste chargrilled, because I could only taste the Parmesan, no garlic butter flavor at all. Oh as for appetizers, the bone marrow and crab au gratin, were great as well. I have tried so much in those two visits I can't remember everything! Fried oyster salad is full of oysters and less salad with blue cheese dressing that does not overpower the dish. Bbq shrimp was just ok, unfortunately the dining area I was in had blue lights so all those pictures came out...blue lol! Ladies bathroom was cleaned both visits and the atmosphere is very inviting.

The messy ass fries were good but not great. The bone marrow appetizer was over powered by the topping on it. It isn't that anything was terrible-it was all good but nothing was exceptional. A little disappointing.
