Found ourselves in Americus again this past week and of course made another stop in to Sweet Georgia for lunch. Even though they were out of my fav BLT's, lunch was still wonderful. Still my fav spot to grab lunch in Americus. Since my last review, I have branched out from my favorite sandwich - the pot roast sandwich. They've got some fantastic creations - both in salads and sandwiches. Tomato soup is a staple on the menu and it's delicious! They've combined forces with Cafe Campesino, which is a local coffee roaster that imports organic free trade coffee from around the world. And the coffee is hands down my favorite. I just gave a bunch of friends a bag of coffee from here for Christmas! Check them out, you won't be disappointed. read more

Delicious treats at a fair price, and supporting local folks. Sweet Georgia Baking is part of the Cafe Campesino coffee and breakfast/lunch place in Downtown Americus. The staff is lovely - attentive and polite and friendly. The place is wheelchair accessible (not the bathroom though). A great place to pick up food or light meal or to hwywhr with friends (not during covid). Covid: Staff wears masks, provides hand sanitizer, and respects social distancing. read more

We visited today from Atlanta. My husband the pot roast sandwich. He thought it was very delicious, especially the bread. I ordered the chicken salad. The salad was just ok, plenty of lettuce and a few tomatoes. The dressing was ok. I should have ordered what He ordered. We will try it again in the next visit. read more

Small place with very nice staff. Appeared clean. They sell baked goods but also have lunch options. My chicken salad was tasty but a bit salty. It came with grape tomatoes (delicious), focaccia bread and a lettuce salad. My husband got the chicken wrap, which he said was pretty good, but the side of potato salad he got in lieu of chips was TINY (about 1/8 cup). Prices were average. read more

The pot roast sandwich is one of the best sandwiches I have ever tried. Be sure to grab a napkin, because you will need it. The soups and the pimento cheese sandwich are also very good. The flourless chocolate cakes are great for dessert. They make their own breads and desserts. read more

Love, love, love this mom and pop shop! I stop by at least twice a week for lunch! Their half sandwich with half soup is to die for!! My absolute favorite is hot turkey with butter not squash soup! So Delicious!!! read more

This is a great little sandwich place in Americus. I really enjoyed eating here. Seems like it is a great local place to eat. Food: I had there chicken salad sandwich. It was pretty good. They put pecans and grapes in their chicken salad. Was not my favorite but still was flavorful. The people I was with had the roasted turkey with a curry mayo and a roasted turkey salad. They seemed to enjoy it. The chicken salad was on a focaccia bread, which was soft but again not a favorite bread of mine. Price: The price was a little high for a sandwich place. My chicken salad with a bag of chips and a glass of water was around $9. A little pricy for what it was. Venue: The venue was very tiny and the kitchen was open. There were too many tables in that small of a place. Overall: 3.5/5. Needs more space and a little pricy. But good food and good people. read more

So wonderful! The cous cous salad is sooooo good. The food is always fresh! They have a limited menu but everything is top notch.

Absolutely wonderful place! I usually get the pot roast sandwich and the tomato basil soup or their chicken salad sandwich. The bread is so light and fluffy - the best part is that you can buy a loaf to take home! They have wonderful/huge salads as well! The chocolate chip cookies are delicious but the best dessert is the flourless chocolate cake. It's a mini cake that is perfect for a sweet snack. I got a dozen of them for my last bday to share with the fam. They have had a couple of night openings such as Americus' First Friday. All of the businesses downtown stay open late on the first Friday of the month and have special menu's and live music. Sweet Ga has been rocking First Friday! They have their famous BLT's and have also had pizza night. The pizza is so ridiculously good it is not even funny. Love them!! read more

Small menu focusing on hand made quality food. Prices are upper end for what's going on and cup of tomato soup is six bucks. Yes a cup. The best vegetarian option is the salad with feta,olives, and couscous it's outstanding. The focaccia seems to thick to be served as sandwich bread but I guess it's fills. Will go back for that salad but its closed on weekends and only open 11:30 to 3:00 M-F. read more

Great food and service! Daily Specials for breads, soups, and sandwiches! I enjoyed the Rosemary Chicken Salad Plate - fantastic flavor and great portion size! Only complaint I heard were that the soup spoon wasn't big enough - regular soup spoon so I am assuming she wanted more soup because it was so good! Today's special was Blackeye Pea Soup and Rosemary Focaccia! According to my dining companion - it had just the right spice! This is sure to be a big hit for locals as well as those traveling through looking for an awesome lunch in great casual atmosphere! I love the old wooden tables and watching the kitchen activity!
