Still my fav spot to grab lunch in Americus. Since my last review, I have branched out from my favorite sandwich - the pot roast sandwich. They've got some fantastic creations - both in salads and sandwiches. Tomato soup is a staple on the menu and it's delicious! They've combined forces with Cafe Campesino, which is a local coffee roaster that imports organic free trade coffee from around the world. And the coffee is hands down my favorite. I just gave a bunch of friends a bag of coffee from here for Christmas! Check them out, you won't be disappointed.

We visited today from Atlanta. My husband the pot roast sandwich. He thought it was very delicious, especially the bread. I ordered the chicken salad. The salad was just ok, plenty of lettuce and a few tomatoes. The dressing was ok. I should have ordered what He ordered. We will try it again in the next visit.

We just had an amazing lunch here. Mine was ham/bacon jam/Swiss cheese on fresh focaccia with a side of very good potato salad. Partner got a BLT club that he liked a lot. The service was fast and it had cute ambiance. Highly recommend. read more

Delicious treats at a fair price, and supporting local folks. Sweet Georgia Baking is part of the Cafe Campesino coffee and breakfast/lunch place in Downtown Americus. The staff is lovely - attentive and polite and friendly. The place is wheelchair accessible (not the bathroom though). A great place to pick up food or light meal or to hwywhr with friends (not during covid). Covid: Staff wears masks, provides hand sanitizer, and respects social distancing. read more

We visited today from Atlanta. My husband the pot roast sandwich. He thought it was very delicious, especially the bread. I ordered the chicken salad. The salad was just ok, plenty of lettuce and a few tomatoes. The dressing was ok. I should have ordered what He ordered. We will try it again in the next visit. read more

Small place with very nice staff. Appeared clean. They sell baked goods but also have lunch options. My chicken salad was tasty but a bit salty. It came with grape tomatoes (delicious), focaccia bread and a lettuce salad. My husband got the chicken wrap, which he said was pretty good, but the side of potato salad he got in lieu of chips was TINY (about 1/8 cup). Prices were average. read more

The pot roast sandwich is one of the best sandwiches I have ever tried. Be sure to grab a napkin, because you will need it. The soups and the pimento cheese sandwich are also very good. The flourless chocolate cakes are great for dessert. They make their own breads and desserts. read more

Lee and his staff are amazing! Fresh baked bread daily paired with the freshest meats around makes for an amazing sandwich. The roasted cous cous salad is so unique and fresh a must try. This is a great little sandwich place in Americus. I really enjoyed eating here. Seems like it is a great local place to eat. Food: I had there chicken salad sandwich. It was pretty good. They put pecans and grapes in their chicken salad. Was not my favorite but still was flavorful. The people I was with had the roasted turkey with a curry mayo and a roasted turkey salad. They seemed to enjoy it. The chicken salad was on a focaccia bread, which was soft but again not a favorite bread of mine. Price: The price was a little high for a sandwich place. My chicken salad with a bag of chips and a glass of water was around $9. A little pricy for what it was. Venue: The venue was very tiny and the kitchen was open. There were too many tables in that small of a place. Overall: 3.5/5. Needs more space and a little pricy. But good food and good people. read more

Absolutely wonderful place! I usually get the pot roast sandwich and the tomato basil soup or their chicken salad sandwich. The bread is so light and fluffy - the best part is that you can buy a loaf to take home! They have wonderful/huge salads as well! The chocolate chip cookies are delicious but the best dessert is the flourless chocolate cake. It's a mini cake that is perfect for a sweet snack. I got a dozen of them for my last bday to share with the fam. They have had a couple of night openings such as Americus' First Friday. All of the businesses downtown stay open late on the first Friday of the month and have special menu's and live music. Sweet Ga has been rocking First Friday! They have their famous BLT's and have also had pizza night. The pizza is so ridiculously good it is not even funny. Love them!! read more

Small menu focusing on hand made quality food. Prices are upper end for what's going on and cup of tomato soup is six bucks. Yes a cup. The best vegetarian option is the salad with feta,olives, and couscous it's outstanding. The focaccia seems to thick to be served as sandwich bread but I guess it's fills. Will go back for that salad but its closed on weekends and only open 11:30 to 3:00 M-F. read more

Great food and service! Daily Specials for breads, soups, and sandwiches! I enjoyed the Rosemary Chicken Salad Plate - fantastic flavor and great portion size! Only complaint I heard were that the soup spoon wasn't big enough - regular soup spoon so I am assuming she wanted more soup because it was so good! Today's special was Blackeye Pea Soup and Rosemary Focaccia! According to my dining companion - it had just the right spice! This is sure to be a big hit for locals as well as those traveling through looking for an awesome lunch in great casual atmosphere! I love the old wooden tables and watching the kitchen activity! It actually is about the same age as I am. It got it started as a biker bar years and years and years ago, and then it transformed into a college hangout. Only most of the patrons are people who never went to Georgia Southwestern or they graduated so long ago that they're now retired from their jobs. So it kinda is a college bar just for people who graduated from college in 1980. My wife ordered a garden salad and we got some nachos and I got a Reuben with chips and an order of chicken wings. It was $75. And I've got to tell you none of it was anything special. You could get a better Reuben out of a sandwich machine. And if you don't order extra meat, what you end up with is a sauerkraut sandwich. The chicken wings they were Tysons chicken wings from a bag and they tasted like the dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets that my nieces eat. My nieces are under 10 years old. The nachos were mini Tostitos with a couple of three different cups of things served with them. The chili was OK. The guacamole was OK. The cheese sauce was nacho cheese sauce. Think about this as concession stand nachos or school lunchroom nachos. My wife's salad was delicious looking it was very good. She enjoyed it and it was a great deal. The rest of the meal was total garbage. And for $75 I expected better. Not a drop of beer was consumed. $75 included two cokes. And you have to bus your own table when you're finished. The service is always very good, they bring your food to your table after you order it at the bar. And it's not a proper bar either. It's just beer, I guess you could have a glass of wine but it's mostly beer and soft drinks. They're not putting on any airs at Pat. They're just charging too much.

A handful of people came and ordered after me received their order and I was still standing there. That's when they asked to take my order, told them they already did. They looked like a deer in the headlights. Someone, I can only assume was the owner was kind enough. Checking on everything.

If you are new to this place, don't go with the easy choices (chicken salad or pimento cheese... Don't get me wrong- the are great- but everybody's mamma - or mamma's mamma's got a chicken salad or pimento cheese that can't be beat) - be adventurous. go for the hot turkey sandwich. Or the pot roast sandwich. They are delicious. Decadent. Fresh. Plus the salads are pretty rad too. Best sandwiches in southwest Georgia- no questions asked. read more
