This cafe was pretty interesting, from the colorful building , inside and out to the food and drink options. The seating inside was cozy and inviting , they have table seating or if you want to sit on a padded chair or couch they have that also.They also have a nice covered outside patio to sit and relax on. They have a good selection of pastries , drinks , food and cocktails. The owner and staff were friendly and hospitable. I will definitely be back, such a cool place. I love to see businesses revive old houses or buildings into new spaces. I almost forgot to mention I brought a piece of their chocolate cake home and it was delicious.

It's hard to resist The Cuban sandwich. Split it with your favorite person and add more things to your order. The beef empanada was delicious. I also tried the chicken but the beef is my recommendation. The ham croquettes have a crispy outside layer and the middle is soft. My husband claims these as his favorite. If I'm honest, I struggled to get past the inside texture. The flan latte is a good choice if you like your coffee sweeter. I'm going to choose something tamer next time - or a cocktail. The spot was rocking with music today for the World Cup. Loud inside so we grabbed a patio table. Our food and drinks were brought outside. Love the umbrellas to hide you from the sun. Street parking.

Yesterday I tried their empanada trio for Happy Hour. All 3 were perfectly crispy and full of flavor. Coffee and pastries here are also amazing and there is quite the variety. Inside and outside areas are wonderful hangout spots and the music is so fun. Sweet Colada is the perfect addition to Logan Street!
What a cute little cozy cafe! Met some girlfriends after work for happy hour and I was pleasantly surprised at how cute the space was. I ordered the buffalo chicken empanadas and omg they were delicious! My friends ordered the Cuban sandwich and Yuca frites and espresso martini flight. The espresso martini flight is a must try! Especially since you get 3 drinks for $20 during Happy Hour! Just a sip and you'll see why you have to make this your new go to for one. Haha. Service was very good and they were super patient with us, thankfully. We had a long week and were a bit loud in the back area because we got so comfortable and forgot where we were! This place is so cute! The back room felt like we were in a living room, you have to check it out. I can't wait to come back and try more of their delicious foods and drinks!
I am not well versed in Cuban coffee, food, or culture. They do not have the coffee I prefer here but they do have other things for me to try, excellent pastries and other food, and friendly staff. I am usually here when visiting my friends in Shelby Park or being weird and crying talking to my (should be) pastor. It happens. I would 100% give this a try if you enjoy coffee and are more adventurous than I am.
Went for lunch a few weeks back and it was busy! Got the Cuban sandwich, a papa rellena, beef empanada, guava matcha, and the cafecito. It took about 15 ish minutes to get the sandwich and they apologized for the wait. But I wasn't in a rush anyway! I was also getting takeout but there aren't a lot of tables inside. Everything was delicious! The Cuban sandwich was definitely shareable too. It was a bit hard to find parking since they are near Logan Street. I think they also own Sweet Havana so that's the other option to get their goods.

Definitely the kind of place that may require a small amount of waiting for a table to open up, particularly on weekends. They have some delicious Cuban sodas and a Cuban sandwich that will fill you up! Buttery bread, big portion, and a delicious mustard compliments the pork. My favorite coffee drink is by far their cafecito, espresso served in an adorable lil' cup with sugar for an extra bolt of buzz. Great, deep flavors in their coffee. Their pastries are excellent, with options that have bold flavors like guava, and subtle flavors like a soft wisp of vanilla and strawberry. The staff is very sweet. The decor is so pretty, modern, well thought-out, inspired, artistitic, welcoming, and cozy all at the same time. They have a small outdoor patio with umbrellas that is lovely to frequent in the warmer months. Sweet Colada is an absolutely win for the Logan Street strip.

No rushing, everything perfect, and beautiful service. We got 3 of the 4 happy hour appetizers and 2 espresso martini flights, which are AMAZING. Regular, pumpkin, and affogato...absolutely delicious. For the apps, loaded yuca fries, empanadas, and tostones with guacamole. So, so good. Can't wait to come back and try the pastries!
I've been wanting to check this place after coming across their profile on Insta and thought today was the perfect opportunity and arrived at the perfect time, it seemed like 20 people came in and ordered after us, if not more and I can see why! This place is phenomenal and I cannot wait to come back. I wanted to try a little bit of everything so we got a couple of things to share. We each got a croquette and then 1 beef empanada and the breakfast croissant and everything was delicious! The croissant was cooked perfectly, and had a good ham to egg ratio. The croquette's came with what seemed like a Jalapeño dipping sauce which was also good on the empanada, since it was a little dry. We also got the Cafe Con Leche, Cafecito and their version of the espresso Martini. If you've never had a Cafecito, and like espresso it's a must try. It's the tiniest, cutest shop of espresso and a small amount of sugar. My husband said the Cafe Con Leche was sweeter than he expected but was really good. The Martini was hands down one of the best I've had, and trust me I've had more than my fair share. 10/10 recommend, do not walk but run!

as you walk in, the vibes of this place is so eccentric, this adorable shop has such yummy treats, they serve delicious empanadas & they make their drinks strong! I recommend their buff chick empanada that was delicious & their espresso martinis are very good! I also had their margarita & ham croquette along with their delicious green sauce! the place feels homey & I love their personal backstory along with family photos. when you do stop by, lounge around upstairs, it was beautifully set up & I will def come back! read more
Stopped in here as a result of a Yelp event putting it on my radar. Business is accessible via a wheelchair ramp to the right side of the building or a small flight of stairs at the front entrance. Scanned the bakery case display and selected a chocolate chip cookie and a slice of delectable appearing chocolate layer cake for a takeout order. I inquired with the counter staff if the items were homemade; however, I'm not sure if she understood what I was asking, but she gave a very soft spoken "yes". I also asked about the cake flavor since it was one of a few display items with no label. I ultimately learned later when I tried it that it was mocha, which made me even happier with the choice. The cake was a bit dry, probably due to being the final slice and loitering in the case, but the flavors were tasty. The cookie was also great with a substantially thick and semi-soft texture. Looking forward to future visits to try even more items and to share with friends. Noise level mild and plenty of seating spaces indoor or on outdoor patio area. read more

First impression of the colorful exterior was one of delight. I wasn't the only one as I popped in around 11 on a weekday and it was bustling! They have a case of many sweet and savory pastries as well as a great menu of sandwiches/empanadas. In addition to the routine (and specifically Cuban) coffee drinks, they have a separate bar. I a pastry which had a flaky exterior with the perfect crunch before arriving at a tender interior filled with a delightful blend of guava and cream cheese. I also ordered a warm cafe con leche which was very traditionally made and just what I wanted! My friend had an iced coffee with guava syrup and milk. Finally made my way over here today and my only complaint is that I didn't try it sooner! The coffee is incredible and super reasonably priced. The service was very quick on a Sunday afternoon with little to no wait which I was very pleasantly surprised by! I also ordered the jamon Croquetas and a pineapple juice- both were FANTASTIC! Charming teal authentic Cuban Cafe tucked in Shelby Park with a small eat in or sip area and spots outside on beautiful days like today. This was a delight with the charm and flavor. Cuban coffee is amazing and the Cafe con Leche was strong with a hint of sweet. There are appetizers and sandwiches. Sweets are the wat to go with the coffee. Guava anything is so delicious. Sweet Colada's is chef's kiss. This little café might be small, but it's packed with flavor, charm, and vibes that will make you forget you're in Louisville and not somewhere in Havana. First of all--clean. Like, your grandma's-house-on-holiday clean. And cute?? The decor was giving tropical daydream meets neighborhood gem. We walked in and immediately felt like we found the kind of place locals don't tell tourists about because they want to keep it to themselves. Let's talk food: I had the Cuban sandwich, and I don't say this lightly--it was the best I've ever had. Crispy, pressed to perfection, piled high with all the good stuff, and honestly the size of a small carry-on bag. Easily could've fed two people, but did I share? No. I did not. Regrets? Also no. We also tried a breakfast croissant, which was buttery, flaky, and somehow managed to feel both indulgent and not heavy. The pastry case was full of tempting sweets and baked goods, and the coffee menu looked like a love letter to caffeine. They even had a cute little cocktail bar tucked inside, which we didn't try because it was before noon and we were trying to be respectable adults (ugh). Final verdict: If you're in the Shelby Park area and not stopping in here, you're doing Louisville wrong. Just go. Sit, eat, pretend you're on a Cuban getaway, and thank me later. read more

Appealing, sweet, cute, small cafe. I totally enjoyed the cordita coffee that I ordered for myself. I'm not a coffee person but to not taste coffee in a Cuban Cafe would be a crime. My friend ordered the vegan sandwich which was jackfruit in brisket form. I also tried the chocolate cake flan which was truly amazing. Not overly sweet and balanced flavors all around. Very cute new spot! The atmosphere is playful and cozy, a perfect complement to the food and drink. The juices were tasty - and sweet! The Cuban was absolutely MASSIVE like would recommend sharing. I liked getting a side of plantain chips too. Personally, I prefer my sliced meats to be on the thin side, so this was not my kind of Cuban, but if you like a nice hefty portion this is the spot! Only tried one of the pastries but I would love to try them all. Definitely a cool place to check out. read more

My original review of Sweet Colada isn't 'recommended' by Yelp's AI sorting tool - as well as FIVE others that were also 5 stars ratings !? Interestingly, a single 3 Star rating was 'recommended' and therefore highlighted by Yelp. This is such a disservice for a new business. I felt the need to submit another because this is an original concept with delicious food and fun ambience. Perfect for a breakfast date or girl's brunch. read more

WOW! The service and food was outstanding! It's a quaint little place with tons of ambiance and genuine feeling from the owner and staff.
