Solid Mexican spot. Particularly enjoyed the shredded chicken used in the chimichangas, really nicely marinated and tender. It was a slow day when I was there for lunch, but the staff was welcoming and friendly, service was attentive and helpful. Spacious interior and a nice patio area, I enjoyed the peaceful lunch but am sure it could also easily be a vibrant spot later in the day.

Just got In town late as usual. Passing thru for one night. I was hankering Mexican food and gave this place a try. At first saw no one since it's Sunday evening. But we got seated and ordered. We got chicken with chorizo and the combo plate with chile relleno and chalupa. Food was good a bit salty for my taste but personal preference. Decor is definitely different. Good place to eat.

What a great spot to grab GREAT food, exceptional service and pleasant decorations. We stopped in before a show and were really excited to try the food. We shared the guacamole, a Birria pizza and washed down with a tasty margarita. Definitely will be back and suggest you go too!!

So I have been here at least a half dozen times in the last month because it's closed to my work. The building itself is very unique with a covered outdoor seating area that I got to enjoy before the cold weather set in. The service is outstanding - seriously attentive. But THE FOOD, Y'ALL... Pictured is the Luna Plate which is steak, chicken, and shrimp with fajita veggies on a bed of rice covered in cheese. It is divine. This is one of the more expensive lunch options at $12.99. The chimichanga with shredded beef, mushroom and spinach quesadilla, and taco salad are also delicious. The crispy fresh chips are served with salsa and the creamy jalapeño dip made popular by another place. Takeout is ready promptly too - I ordered at the bar one day and it was ready within 10 minutes. I seriously am obsessed and not even a little ashamed.

The service can be slow at times, but its typically a great lunch spot. And the shaded patio is great.

The food was pretty good. One thing though they didn't have any Mexican cheese. They use Monterey Jack. The margaritas were good.

Fortunately, he knows and tells you to ring the door bell. You do and you are buzzed in. And that is Sergio's from the outside. No really. The only sign that tips you off there is a bar here is the Chimay sign hanging on the outside of the building. Inside, there are 29 doors of coolers, a walk in cooler, and a refrigerator full of beer. And organized by all of the countries. This place is the brainchild of Sergio Ribenboim, an avid beer "collector". I get here every time I get to Louisville. One of my favorite spots (if you are on untappd, Sergio has over 37,000 beers checked in and more than 28,000 uniques). This time I tried the food, as people were raving about it. The feijoada was very nice. The fish and chips, not so much. Not surprising the feijoada was the star as Sergio is from Brazil. Nuff said? What can you find here? What can't you find here. On one of my previous trips, I found some Estonian stouts. On tap, there are more than 30 beers. And Sergio is stickler for putting beer in the correct glass. This is one of the most quirky taprooms you will ever visit. And you will likely come back. Maybe not for the food, but for the beer, the uniqueness, and Sergio.

There are tons of varieties in bottles and cans- I think bottles win- and lots on tap too. It is a dark, dark cave is my one complaint- there are no windows- but they do a good job maintaining ambience. Tables are comfy and the people are friendly.

I had a beer, my wife had a espresso martini, and my son had an HR problem. My wife said the the espresso martini was really good. Once you get through the door, there is a decent sized bar to your right. The rest of the place is seating at tables, both high and low. There is also a outside area in the back. If you have been to Atrium, the feel is very similar. From a beer standpoint, Monnik is in the B+ range, which means it is decent. I grabbed a flight and then a couple of samplers of seasonals after dinner. Very innovative and I would highly recommend trying some of the styles outside of the flagship. The peach grisette, a style you don't find often, was on point. Same with the New Year Old Ale and BA Minimator. Needless to say, I had my designated driver after these 11% and 12% brews. It is not a place people would travel across the country for, but the beer is better than most in the area. I usually stop at Atrium, which I would put in the A category, but I love exploring new places. Monnik did not disappoint. For food, we just grabbed a pretzel. My two cents. THe beer cheese is just okay. The Gouda fondue is the bomb. If I could have the spent grain bread or pretzel with just gouda fondue, I could eat this regularly.
