I wish I could give 0 stars. We brought a party of 14, participated in karaoke all night and spent $400+ at the bar. Somehow that still wasn't enough. Kennedy used the bar's speaker system to publicly call us out over a 20% tip. Told us to use the ATM to tip more. I'm genuinely disappointed writing this review. On Sunday night, I stopped into 3rd Street Dive and had a great time. The bartender was snarky, but it felt ironic and playful -- classic dive bar energy. No issues at all. I even suggested we return Monday night with coworkers. For context, multiple bartenders at the first bar we visited that evening warned us not to go to 3rd Street Dive due to past negative experiences. I brushed it off because my Sunday visit had been fun and I thought they just didn't like the dive bar vibe. Monday was a completely different story. The bartender was openly hostile from the start -- yelling and swearing at customers, aggressively confronting people for briefly being on their phones, and creating a tense, uncomfortable environment. Demanding no one stand at the bar while we were trying to pay our tab. The situation escalated when he intentionally and aggressively threw a drink on one of my coworkers. This was not an accidental spill in a packed bar. It was deliberate. At that point, it stopped being "dive bar attitude" and started feeling volatile and unsafe. There's a difference between edgy and unprofessional. Sunday felt edgy. Monday felt unpredictable and uncomfortable. Louisville has too many great spots to risk spending your evening somewhere that could escalate like that. I hope ownership takes a serious look at what's happening behind the bar. It's unfortunate because it's actually a pretty cool bar. The bartender is a brunette girl with long brown hair who is the worst human being ever created she goes on a power trip every Saturday. Very rude bartender. Hard to be around. Not very good at her job she is truthfully not meant for the Service industry. She will have a great career in janitorial services. Not good at Customer Service person. I believe she has a family member who owns the bar. That is the only reason she's employed. If you see a white girl, a little tall with long brown hair just walk away. She is the worst bartender. It's not worth your money. read more

I love a good dive bar with drinks at the right price. On the plus side the karaoke space is fun and there is space for pool. One of the bartenders seems to rub many people the wrong way. read more

Only wants to serve men assaulted me and my friends, made unprofessional gestures on multiple occasions and when communicating to other staff members and patrons they agreed and said "yeah we know" also begged for tips. Third street dive is the definition of neighborhood dive bar. What will you find here? Locals grabbing a beer, tourists playing pool and having "one last drink" before heading home after a bourbon bar crawl, a group on a corporate retreat doing their best karaoke ensembles. While this place isn't going to craft you up the best cocktail you ever had, the memories and experiences with your friends will never been forgotten. read more

I found the local karaoke!! Was in town for a wedding and this place was literally a block from my hotel -- they have a sign outside that advertises the karaoke -- I noticed it as soon as I got in town and was on the hunt for some food options. When I had the free time later after some festivities, I dropped in and it was so much fun. There is a pool table in the back, and there are plenty of tables and a spacious bar. The staff were friendly and accommodating too! Karaoke always elevates a venue, and this place was no different. It didn't have food, but that was OK. I didn't ask, but I'm willing to bet you can bring in food from other places. It's a nice neighborhood spot for sure! read more

Five star dive bar to be sure. This is the quintessential dive bar experience... right down to the aggressive in your face patrons. Haven't had an experience like this since my HS and or college days. Floor is sticky there's a cheap pool table, drinks are cheap and people are loud and obnoxious. What's not to like. read more

I first heard about Third Street Dive while having a conversation about local bars in Louisville with my dentist. She highly recommended that I check out Third Street Dive and was told about the stellar selection of beer and liquor as well as the amazing price range. Upon entering their establishment I was greeted at the door by a staff member that, to my welcoming surprise, did a temperature check as well as asked for my ID and phone number. I let them know right away that I was pleased that they were doing this as many places I have been to have not and the reason for asking for my number is for COVID contact tracing which immediately made me feel better about coming to Third Street. The environment of Third Street Dive absolutely fits the name as this is no doubt a very whole-in-the-wall dive bar with a huge neon sign stating the name of the establishment featured behind the bar, a great, chil playlist of songs that go quite well with the vibe and wall-to-wall chalk messages that sprawl all throughout from front to back. Seating is limited due to COVID and Third Street Dive does an excellent job of maintaining social distancing by making sure seating is spaced out and not just at the tables, but at the bar as well. Face masks are a requirement here as you will be told to put one on upon entering but no worries, you won't need to enjoy your beer or concoction with your mask on (as humorous as a challenge this would be). My only complaint with Third Street Dive would be the rushed feeling a close as well as falsely stating that last call lasts 30 minutes which on this particular evening started at 11pm and yet it ended about 5 minutes early as I went to place a drink. Also, they started turning the lights off at 11:30 as they let people know they had to leave by 11:45 even though the hours listed state they are open until Midnight and the feeling was rather rushed especially, when on this evening, there wasn't that many customers and I don't feel as though you should shut the main house lights off before your customers leave and especially before closing time. The beer selection is quite nice and offers a wide-range of everything from stouts to pale-ale's as well as a full liquor bar and a rather nice bartender to tend to whatever your alcoholic taste buds desire. Price isn't something you'll ever find yourself intimated by as Third Street Dive offers some amazing prices for beer such as $2 PBR, Mickey's and High Life all the way to $7 Premiums. Third Street Dive is a place you may have drove past before but one that you certain need to find a place to park in Downtown Louisville and come check out and one that is especially a great place to take a first date or meet-up with some friends and have a game night and even more so if you're looking to hang out on the cheap. read more

You get exactly what you expect, if what you expect is a dive bar: Drunk karaoke Lines (that move fast) for cheap drinks A mishmash of industry folk, more and less drunk patrons, visitors from out of town and the occasional hotel guest. Pool table that seems regularly used and a couple of coin-op pinball machines, that at least in my visit stood ringing their bells, but with no one playing them. I scored a tee shirt (unisex and in any color you want as long as it's black), and the shirt was wrapped in a crown Royal bag to go; a nice little touch. It also came with a few stickers, now adorning my suitcases as a reminder of the trip. read more

I've been here a few times, the drinks are always on point, the staff is always awesome, and the karaoke is not only fun but they keep a fair rotation (regular karaoke goers you know what i mean). Pool Tables, Trivia, Darts, and while they don't serve food you can bring food in or uber eats it in. Not too dark, not too light, it's just an awesome place to grab a drink! Wish I had come sooner - have wanted to check this place out for over a decade. I came with a group of ladies on a Thurs and they had karaoke. The atmosphere here is fun. The folks at the bar were friendly and nice. The bartenders were great. They made a terrific "green tea" shot. Definitely stop in if you're nearby! read more

Exactly what is claims to be - a dive bar. You order at the counter and go sit where you want. Just like any karaoke bar, there was really good and really bad. That is part of the fun though so... We didn't really interact with the bartenders other than ordering, but they made drinks which is all we asked for. There was no food, but that wasn't an issue as we had already eaten. Came on a saturday completely sober cuz i dont even drink and the bouncer flipped out on me cuz i had a cup with redbull in my hand.. He threatened to not let me in and threatened to beat me up.. He also threatened to call the cops on me.. The moment i called him out on being high on meth he got scared and ran in.. His demons were jumping and he was very uncomfortable after that.. I told him to call the cops so i can tell them hes on meth and he ran inside like a lil girl.. worst experience ever with a bouncer and im 38.. cant believe they employ that man.. horrible read more

Totally bummed. Whet here a few week as ago and loved it. Dive bar atmosphere, good drinks and reasonably priced. Service was fine. Got there last night and karaoke was going on. It was awful. The worst I have ever heard. Drunk people screaming on stage. And so loud, it was impossible to have a conversation. This place is a gold mine, they're just missing the mark by trying to cater to the drunk karaoke group. May visit for a beer again sometime, but NOT 9pm - 1am Wednesday thru Saturday! (Karaoke times, no kidding 4 hours per night). Last night went until almost 1:30am. They could be so much better. read more

I'm a sucker for dive bars. Third Street Dive is as dive-y as it gets. Dimmed lights, wild and strange messages written in chalk cover the ceiling, and local art is for sale behind the bar. They have bottled beer (PBR, Miller, etc) for $2, wells for $4, and other fantastic deals. Their best deal is a beer and a shot of Jim Beam for $5. My fiance gets it every single time because it's great bang for your buck. The well drinks seem a bit watered down, that's my main complaint and what prevents me from giving five stars. There's a small stage in one corner where live music plays often. Karaoke, darts and pool are all available here too. If you work downtown, this would be an awesome after work drinks spot. Or if you are attending a concert or event at the Yum! and don't wanna waste money on crazy expensive drinks there - pregame at Third Street Dive! read more
